      Even Harvey is astonished how the f the kiddo is doing that to him!!😁😁😄
      He's not playing that much he's just pushing the curser a lil more for the camera cause is straight from the streets of Brooklyn as they knew at the Time ya know😎😎😎💚📸
      A documentary transcanded by Scorsese's eye already mystic vision and the coming from nowhere matches of the actors 😎😎😎🙏🙏
      Only "La Haine" in France got that level in Cinéma....

      Actually, the reverse is true. De Niro was at his absolute best in the late 70s (Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, Godfather 2, The Deer Hunter) and early 80s (Raging Bull, The King of Comedy, Once Upon a Time In America). With a few notable exceptions - Goodfellas, Cape Fear and Casino - his work went stedily downhill. Certainly in the 2000s.

    I wondered about that, because the part where they're talking about Joey Clams it looks like Harvey Keitel is about to crack over the 'they're the same person' line.

    De Niro reminds me of ppl from LA
    when u experience shit, lie or no lie, u just can't help but go on and on explaining every little detail to the person ur with bcus u just want them to feel how u felt
    De Niro is a friggin legend

    • @rickgrewal2232
      @rickgrewal2232 Год назад

      True. The best story retellings are the ones full of details that are somehow relevant to the main story. I had a friend who could hold your attention for an hour just telling you a story, it'd be so detailed that you could picture it in your head, and it wasn't like it was useless details, they somehow put you right in the story. In this case though, Johnny boy is definitely bullshitting lol. He's rambling and just making excuses up on the spot

    I've been a great fan of Robert de niro forever, for me the best ever actor.
    I thought I'd seen this film and I probably did years ago but I watched it today and this scene just made me smile and think to myself.... wow.... he's second film and he's stealing the show.
    What an actor..... no wonder Michael hitched he's wagon to him.
    Robert de niro - magic

    I have a friend that I grew up with that is just like Johnny Boy. I used to get into conversations like this one with him all the time since he was my best friend. Keitel does a great job going along listening to him. I think Keitel trumped DeNiro in this movie. I know aot of people are going to disagree but I always felt that way. Bottom line: they are both great. PS: I saw this movie when it came out. My friends mother took us and we were like 12 years old. Pretty hip when I think back on it.

    I wonder how much dust scripts collect on sets of Scorsese movies. This is almost all improv. There's no way DeNiro was deriving this from a script. He was just being one of the hoods he grew up around.
