I liked the Tony B character. He was one of the few people who would/could stand up to Anthony without him feeling threatened or getting pissed. It took a special kind of person to do that
But that's the brilliant thing about the writing on this show. They know how Italian-Americans are. I'm Italian-American. My Dad used to always scold me, then in the middle of the lecture, say/do something really nice, then either drop it or go back to scolding me. Just a weird quirk of the culture.
When Tony B looks up after Tony S said someone got a look at the guy. That's the reaction of someone who did it. Split second panic and then cool as a breeze. Steve Buscemi nailed it.

James Gandolfini mastered the “Don’t give me that fuckin look” exchange. He was so good at knocking his “Guys” down a notch when one of them gave him a look as if to say “Hey I’m a dangerous gangster too don’t talk to me that way”.

Buscemi is one of the finest actors to ever come down the pike. He's so good they do a full face shot of him listening to Soprano and he doesn't need any dialoge. Just his expression grabs you and takes you down the well.

It's like, i can never see a character or performance, I just see them behaving like this is the greatest thing ever done. But here you see Gandolfini and Buscemi doing a great job. You could tell how dark and dreary the series got in the end with a depressed scenery and grayness in the sky. In the beginning it was colorful and filled with life but in the end it was like the color and the life was sucked right out of the atmosphere slowly through out the whole 6 and a half seasons. Not many people were left standing in the end except maybe Paulie, Patsy and Benny.
A prime example of Tony's bad leadership. His cousin puts their whole family in jeopardy, and Tony rewards him because he feels guilty about something that happened 20 years ago.

So I watched Many Saints the other day, was Tony B character even in the movie, I don’t remember them even mentioning his name…… I was a little disappointed with the movie and especially the ending…. Let’s not forget, Tony B had no qualms about killing Joey Peeps’ girlfriend in the car with Joey Peeps. We never see Tony B struggle with the fact that he killed an innocent woman. It rolls off his back like the heartless gangster that he is. And yes, I guess from a gangster POV, she had to go, otherwise she’d be a witness, but a person with true morals and human decency doesn’t kill innocent women.
Tony B was the genesis of everything turning to shit. However, I wish that he lived to fight the war alongside his cousin. Imagine if Tony Soprano had Furio and Animal Blundetto at the same time.

Tony's got survivor's guilt over the armed robbery from when they were kids. He got away Scott free and Tony B gor big time, in the clink. You could tell it's still bothers them cuz like Blundento said he keeps bringing it up.
I think it still bothers Blundetto but he channels it into his anger and destroying anything good he could have (The girlfriend, the massage business, his cousin bending over backwards)
At this point Tony B's fate was already sealed. Joey Pepparelli was basically Johnny Sack's grandson and future heir of the family, he was what Christopher was to Tony. Whacking him was not just wrong cause a made guy was killed by an affiliate with no weight in terms of ranking and no real motivation, it was also something that John took personally. The attempt on Billy and Phil was the nail on the coffin, Phil at this point was Capo and Underboss. Most of the shit the Soprano family went through, came from them not having control of their soldiers and made men.
Joey Peeps was not made. He was refered to as "a friend of a friend, not a friend of ours". Its pretty common knowledge that Made Men refer to other made Men as "friend of ours". Angelo told Tony B that he wasn't gonna be doing a hit on a made man.
The context Many Saints gives this and every choice Tony made is just incredible, he shows his humanity here in feeling bad only his cousin went to jail. Truly incredible what this movie does for the show. God love James.
This movie has nothing to do with the Sopranos. It's a woke piece of shit advertisement for black live matters, and as far as most of us are concerned it never happened. Literally none of this movie made sense.
If things had turned out differently, and Tony S ended up jail instead of him, Tony B would have easily been Boss, and New York would have had more respect for Jersey than they did with Tony.

Steve Buscemi is the 🐐! Such a great actor with massive range. He can play such an ice cold character with eyes that can even put fear into Tony. You're crowding me scene is one of my favorites with him. Let us not forget Steve Buscemi also worked as a fire fighter. He dropped everything and was at ground zero on 911. I like how after this scene,Tony B took Tony's advice, decided to play it straight and didn't cause any more trouble, went to work at the casino and made some good money from it, then got made and became one of Tony S' most effective soldiers. No more issues with New York and Tony S prospered greatly from it.

As much as I think Tony S truly does love Tony B and care about him. Tony B is the only guy who makes Tony S feel small and insecure, and I think you get a glimpse of that here. He openly questions him when no else would. And when he does Tony B is actually right. I think Tony B would have made a better boss then Tony S.

Buschemi was the perfect actor to play this role. Loved it. If anyone hadn’t checked it out, y’all should watch Boardwalk Empire starring Steve Buschemi. It takes place in Atlantic City/New York during the prohibition era. I would describe it as The Sopranos but taking place in the 1920’s. Buschemi is a freakin badass playing Nucky Thompson. It’s also an HBO show. I wouldn’t rate it as high as Sopranos but if I gave Sopranos a 10/10 I would give Boardwalk a 9/10.

What is your list of the best HBO shows of all time? You could actually just make it best shows of all time Bc all the HBO series are my favorite. Only show I would group in with them is Breaking Bad. My list: 1) Sopranos 2) The Wire 3) Game of Thrones (although the series finale was probably the worst series finale I’ve ever seen and almost ruined the whole series for me. The ending was absolutely horrible. If the rest of the series wasn’t so damn good the finale probably would have moved GofT down this list 2 or 3 spots but most of the series was absolutely amazing) 4) Six Feet Under 5) Boardwalk Empire 6) Deadwood That’s my list. Curb Your Enthusiasm would make my list but it’s a totally different show than the rest of these so didn’t add it on. I’ve never seen Westworld, Big Love and I don’t remember Oz. I wanna watch all those and see where they rank. I watched a little of Big Love too and thought it was fantastic but I don’t remember enough of it either. I would probably put True Detective right after Deadwood after season 2. I think season 1 was good enough to maybe go right above Deadwood. I also mentioned Breaking Bad. It’s about the drug life in Baltimore. It is very much like The Wire. Matter of fact, I would say like 10-15 actors from The Wire are also in The Corner. The guy who play Lester Freamon in The Wire is a heroin addict. The actor playing Detective Daniels plays a crack addict. I think I read 12 characters from The Wire also played in The Corner.
Seems like aot of time investment to watch all that tv. I only watched Curb which was great and i gave up on Breaking Bad after season 2 or 3 as hated it and couldn't stand the characters.
GOT ending was one of the larger let downs of all time.. as was the ending in How I met your Mother.. ya watch a whole series of how I met your mother just to see your mother die in the end? I mean WTF? and GOT IMO could have been the greatest of them all if the writers didn't come up with that friggin' lame assed ending.. I would have rather seen John and Danny, fix the realm and end up righting some wrongs. Cersei being beheaded in a public ceremony would have been a nice payback. I've never fully understood Tony Blandetto. When he got out of jail, Tony wanted to give him responsibilities, and opportunities to earn money, well, to get back in the game! But, Tony B was all 'nooo, I want to stay legitimate, studying for his massage therapist exam, and being serious about becoming one. So Tony was like, ok, I'll give the opportunities to other people. And then what-Tony B changed his mind? In the meantime, became jealous of all the money Tony S has. I don't get that. And then he acted alone. Why? Why didn't he just start earning the minute he got out from the jail, and that's it. He could be a part of the crew again. Could someone explain this to me, maybe I am missing something?
Jealousy. He was always jealous of Tony S. That fat oaf from his childhood whos now a big mafiaboss. With lots of money and living in a mansion. And Tony is respected beacause hes cunning and ruthless. Tony B. instead went to prison and now has to earn a meager living through honest hard work. He quickly realises that this kind of life is not for him. So he gets back being the dumbest criminal. I mean he went to prison because he was caught. He was caught because he is a horrible criminal. In the end he paid with his life for it. Greed and stupidity.
Tony B comes out prison,realises prison screwed him up and tries to go straight,but finds the cash and drugs from the scene where the drug dealers throw the stuff out the car window.Then comes to understand he has the mafia in his blood and can't be f*cked with civilian life.Can't admit to Tony that he wants to return (tony would break his balls non stop for failing to go straight).So tries to go it alone but f*cks up with the peeps thing and realises he needs Tony's protection because now he's a marked man.Any good?
Tony B was indeed jealous of Tony S and wanted his life. However he hated the fact that Tony S controlled his future so Tony B thought he could make a name for himself with the Brooklyn family and override having to take orders from Tony S. In the end Tony B with just stupid and jealous and paid the ultimate price for it.
How about he was locked up for 15 years now he is out. His cousin is big dog he feels lost. He is an ex con who is trying to figure out the modern world while dealing with the fall out of his prison stint. Go away for 15 years and come back to everyone doing better than you and see if you don't make some mistakes maybe not his crazy mistakes but you will. If you paid attention every ex con who got out couldn't handle the changes The Golden boy Tony is now boss. Richie, Feech and even Phil from NY had a hard time grasping this shit. Richie crippled Beansie, Feech boosted cars from a guest of the executive game. It's not being dumb criminals it's being locked up it fucks your mind up.

I’ve watched this series so many times, and it seriously took until now to realize that Tony B was never made. But I guess it makes sense - he was pretty young when he went in, right? I don’t think Tony S was even made at that point in time. And I’d imagine that it’s probably pretty damn hard to make a guy when he’s sitting in a prison cell. Imagine having that little ceremony in a fully lit room the size of two closets. Hell, imagine trying to organize it: “Hey, guards, do you mind if we all get dressed up in our nice suits next Monday night? What? No, nothing bad, we’re just… uh, dressing up, like the Wall Street guys… ya know, for Halloween. Yeah, Halloween. What? Yeah, we know it’s February. It’s uh, the Italian Halloween! So next Monday night, Italian Halloween, if you could dim the lights for a half hour or so, too, that would be great. It’ll improve the… the spookiness. We’ll also need some lighters, too, ya know, to make scary faces in the dark. Oh, and some needles and some cards with saints on them, we need those too for the… ah the hell with it! We’ll just do it when he gets out.”
Tony B with Steve as the actor, he just comes off smarter than any of those other 'social club' members. His ability to deliver a comeback makes the rest look like imbeciles. Steve pulls off the skeeziness needed, but he doesn't seem to be able to get rid of the quick wit his characters always seem to have.
Tony knew then and there he could not protect his favourite nephew Tony B of Sacks revenge. Because Johnny Sack would certainly come to known that Blundetto was the killer. The only respectable thing(in Tony's mind) he can do is: to make his nephew part of his criminal family. Then he can give his nephew up with making a beef about it. Because if Blundetto wasnt made, then Johnny Sack didnt had have the permission needed te wack him. In the new scenario Tony's loss of status doesnt seem so weak.

And yes, I guess from a gangster POV, she had to go, otherwise she’d be a witness, but a person with true morals and human decency doesn’t kill innocent women.

If anyone hadn’t checked it out, y’all should watch Boardwalk Empire starring Steve Buschemi. It takes place in Atlantic City/New York during the prohibition era. I would describe it as The Sopranos but taking place in the 1920’s. Buschemi is a freakin badass playing Nucky Thompson. It’s also an HBO show. I wouldn’t rate it as high as Sopranos but if I gave Sopranos a 10/10 I would give Boardwalk a 9/10.

What is your list of the best HBO shows of all time? You could actually just make it best shows of all time Bc all the HBO series are my favorite. Only show I would group in with them is Breaking Bad. My list:
1) Sopranos
2) The Wire
3) Game of Thrones (although the series finale was probably the worst series finale I’ve ever seen and almost ruined the whole series for me. The ending was absolutely horrible. If the rest of the series wasn’t so damn good the finale probably would have moved GofT down this list 2 or 3 spots but most of the series was absolutely amazing)
4) Six Feet Under
5) Boardwalk Empire

That’s my list. Curb Your Enthusiasm would make my list but it’s a totally different show than the rest of these so didn’t add it on. I’ve never seen Westworld, Big Love and I don’t remember Oz. I wanna watch all those and see where they rank. I watched a little of Big Love too and thought it was fantastic but I don’t remember enough of it either.
So what do y’all think of my list and y’all should make y’all list. I would love to hear where shows like Westworld, Oz, Big Love, Band of Brothers size up as well. I would probably put True Detective right after Deadwood after season 2. I think season 1 was good enough to maybe go right above Deadwood. I also mentioned Breaking Bad. This show was absolutely amazing and the only show I’ve seen that would compare to all these HBO shows. If I added it to the list I would probably have it around 4,5 or 6. It’s tough but I absolutely love Six Feet, Boardwalk and Deadwood. I would probably put it at 5 right under Six Feet Under and right above Boardwalk but all those shows are interchangeable to me. I think Sopranos, The Wire and GofT are locked in at 1,2 and 3 and then after that all those could be at any number. Just depends on preference.
I cant wait to watch the Deadwood movie coming out and curious what the new Sopranos show will be like when they go back to when Tony is young. I feel like no way they can live up to the hype Bc it’s impossible after what the Sopranos and the original Deadwood gave us but I’m a hardcore fan so still excited to see them. I heard they are also doing some type of Breaking Bad spin off following Jesse I think after we see him driving off at the end of the series.

Has anyone ever seen The Corner on HBO? It’s about the drug life in Baltimore. It is very much like The Wire. Matter of fact, I would say like 10-15 actors from The Wire are also in The Corner. The guy who play Lester Freamon in The Wire is a heroin addict. The actor playing Detective Daniels plays a crack addict. I think I read 12 characters from The Wire also played in The Corner.

Seems like aot of time investment to watch all that tv. I only watched Curb which was great and i gave up on Breaking Bad after season 2 or 3 as hated it and couldn't stand the characters.
GOT ending was one of the larger let downs of all time.. as was the ending in How I met your Mother.. ya watch a whole series of how I met your mother just to see your mother die in the end? I mean WTF? and GOT IMO could have been the greatest of them all if the writers didn't come up with that friggin' lame assed ending.. I would have rather seen John and Danny, fix the realm and end up righting some wrongs. Cersei being beheaded in a public ceremony would have been a nice payback. But I guess in the end, no matter good intentions, absolute power corrupts. Danny lost her moral sense.

I've never fully understood Tony Blandetto. When he got out of jail, Tony wanted to give him responsibilities, and opportunities to earn money, well, to get back in the game! But, Tony B was all 'nooo, I want to stay legitimate, studying for his massage therapist exam, and being serious about becoming one. So Tony was like, ok, I'll give the opportunities to other people. And then what-Tony B changed his mind? In the meantime, became jealous of all the money Tony S has. I don't get that. And then he acted alone. Why? Why didn't he just start earning the minute he got out from the jail, and that's it. He could be a part of the crew again.

Jealousy. He was always jealous of Tony S. That fat oaf from his childhood whos now a big mafiaboss. With lots of money and living in a mansion. And Tony is respected beacause hes cunning and ruthless. Tony B. instead went to prison and now has to earn a meager living through honest hard work. He quickly realises that this kind of life is not for him. So he gets back being the dumbest criminal. I mean he went to prison because he was caught. He was caught because he is a horrible criminal. In the end he paid with his life for it. Greed and stupidity.

Tony B was indeed jealous of Tony S and wanted his life. However he hated the fact that Tony S controlled his future so Tony B thought he could make a name for himself with the Brooklyn family and override having to take orders from Tony S. In the end Tony B with just stupid and jealous and paid the ultimate price for it.
How about he was locked up for 15 years now he is out. His cousin is big dog he feels lost. He is an ex con who is trying to figure out the modern world while dealing with the fall out of his prison stint. Go away for 15 years and come back to everyone doing better than you and see if you don't make some mistakes maybe not his crazy mistakes but you will. If you paid attention every ex con who got out couldn't handle the changes The Golden boy Tony is now boss. Richie, Feech and even Phil from NY had a hard time grasping this shit. Richie crippled Beansie, Feech boosted cars from a guest of the executive game. It's not being dumb criminals it's being locked up it fucks your mind up.

I’ve watched this series so many times, and it seriously took until now to realize that Tony B was never made. But I guess it makes sense - he was pretty young when he went in, right? I don’t think Tony S was even made at that point in time. And I’d imagine that it’s probably pretty damn hard to make a guy when he’s sitting in a prison cell.
Imagine having that little ceremony in a fully lit room the size of two closets. Hell, imagine trying to organize it:
“Hey, guards, do you mind if we all get dressed up in our nice suits next Monday night? What? No, nothing bad, we’re just… uh, dressing up, like the Wall Street guys… ya know, for Halloween. Yeah, Halloween. What? Yeah, we know it’s February. It’s uh, the Italian Halloween! So next Monday night, Italian Halloween, if you could dim the lights for a half hour or so, too, that would be great. It’ll improve the… the spookiness. We’ll also need some lighters, too, ya know, to make scary faces in the dark. Oh, and some needles and some cards with saints on them, we need those too for the… ah the hell with it! We’ll just do it when he gets out.”
Tony B with Steve as the actor, he just comes off smarter than any of those other 'social club' members. His ability to deliver a comeback makes the rest look like imbeciles. Steve pulls off the skeeziness needed, but he doesn't seem to be able to get rid of the quick wit his characters always seem to have.
Steve is so great. Love that guy. When I see him no matter what he's doin I stop and get settled in for whatever he's got for me ya know?

Tony knew then and there he could not protect his favourite nephew Tony B of Sacks revenge. Because Johnny Sack would certainly come to known that Blundetto was the killer. The only respectable thing(in Tony's mind) he can do is: to make his nephew part of his criminal family. Then he can give his nephew up with making a beef about it. Because if Blundetto wasnt made, then Johnny Sack didnt had have the permission needed te wack him.
