Finally someone that prefaces "the world's largest gecko" with "that you can own in captivity" , this is one of the reasons you're one of my favorites. It's so obvious how excited you are and how much you care. Keep it up 💪
Leachies be like - This sucker of a human worships me feeds me and cleans my projectile diarrreah! and occasionally i bite him too! ( rauchous leachie laughter sipping of fruit cups and then hurriedly returning to their spots hearing their slave enter the room unknowing that "his" animals are fully sentient)
I'll definitely do more as time goes on. I don't like making many on species that are new to me, but now that weve grown out this pair bred and raised babies I feel I'm getting better at understanding the species.
I wanted to get a Leachie for about 15 years before finally getting one last year. Robbie Hamper vended at a show I regularly went to and I saw hers in person. I have 3 now. I got a large pet tek magnetic ledge and my largest Leachie. She mostly craps on that instead of the front door. Her duces are potent, but it’s easier taking out that ledge and cleaning it. The part of the video about the cork bark makes sense. My largest girl who poops on the ledge only eats her food if I put it inside the cork round. My Nuu Ami, who is my first Leachie, has started only eating her food if I pul the dish in the cork round instead of on the ledge.
love leachies but since i had bad bitey rhacs (gargoyles) i stopped messing with new cal except cresteds lol. Love the content as always ~lake reptiles
Dakotah, get a Large Forest Gecko (Gecko Smithii). Nobody works with them. Basically, a leaner cousin of the Tokay Gecko with emerald green eyes. They get to about the same size and just as aggressive.
Great video my leachie is a 4 year female, she recently has been having some issues where shes leaving her mouth open and her tongue has been hanging out,im thinking maybe she has a respiratory infection and im going take her the vet asap.Wondering if anyone had this issue before?
I was already thoroughly deterred from leachies due to their strong resemblance to sock puppets but this was hilariously reinforcing of that opinion I gotta say! 🤣
Before having my leachie I was used to feeding like 1 bag every 2-3 months for my 5 smaller new cales , then I got my boy strawberry and my food bill doubled but his face is so surly so it’s ok.
Usually 60-70 g is when I put them in there forever home 2x2x2 unless they’re paired I do at a 3 x 3 x 3 out of PVC. They really are the Bulldogs of reptiles so chunky and goofy. They can be some of the nicest geckos obviously it’s a hit or miss. Lots of them are very territorial about their cork rounds and their enclosure, but by far my favorite. But I’ve also found they are one of my pickiest they a lot of the time just stop eating their favorite flavor of food out of nowhere 😂
Nice! I've heard anywhere from 70-100 is usually when it's time for the adult set up. Luckily all of mine have been DEVOURING anything I put in there lol.

I thought they were currently the largest gecko in the world? Gigarcanum went extinct a while ago unless they are hiding somewhere.
They are@@DaltonEMain
So that would mean that the leacie Is actually the largest at the moment@@CDCK006
@Gioreptiles it is haha I'm not sure what the guy in the comment is talking about. I don't think there's a bigger gecko alive than the leachie
@@CDCK006 yeah for a sec i was confused about people having rediscovered the gigarcanum lol

Loved this. Any chance you’ll do gargs and chahouas next?
More leachie videos!
I second this

I used to have one, way more aggressive and fast than a tokay ime

Try putting up a curtain to cover the glass door when the lights go out to see if it will alleviate/help with the poop picasso problem

They really do leave a hole in the wallet 😂
“Projectile diarrhea” as i’m eating Taco Bell for lunch 😅 Thanks for that!

gecko flops like pancake LUL , clearly evolved alongside bats
What kind of leachies are yours?
My pair are GTX. Yeti mix for the male and mt. Krogi (I never remember it but it's close to that) x nu anna
As a leachie owner, I can confirm their poop is horrendous. Out of all my reptiles, they are indeed the worst 😅🤢
They're so bad 😂
Im so lucky all my leachies are pretty chill
