Beautiful transformation. I did one similar. The only change I made was to use a walnut stain and poly on the base shelf where the Keurig sits. It made it more durable for water and coffee stains.
The pale gray was a good choice even if it was not your first choice. I couldn't tell that it was gray until the final shot in the video. Looks really good.
Fun to see the evolutions of your spaces, past and current. Didn’t occur to me frankly to not distress a piece like this, and I think it’s beautiful and clean this way, so glad to have watched this before doing my hutches I have.
Love the grey, I think it looks better than it would have in white! Sometimes limited choices that force you to choose something different turn out better in the end. Beautiful job!
I have a China cabinet that looks identical to that. Also matching buffet server and table and chairs. The same color your started out as. Now I know what I’d love to do with it. Just hope one day I can. Thanks so much for sharing your great talent.
This turned out great! I love repainting the darker wood toned furniture. I've done 4 so far and fell in love with them all over again - it breaths new life into them in my opinion.
It really changes the functionality of the cabinet when you take off the doors. Not so constricted. I'm so glad I did, even though I was worried I was going to destroy the piece. It worked out, thank goodness!
My cousin redid one almost like it but left glass doors on the top. I keep craft stuff organized in it. I love it so much. It’s painted in pool chalk paint.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!!! I HAVE ONE SIMILAR TO THIS AND CAN'T WAIT TO REDO IT. AT first I thought that the paint was light but then when you put it next to the wall its not white! I love it!!!
Great job Shannon. I inherited my mom's maple cabinet, slightly larger than yours, and I've thought about painting it but wasn't really sure. Seeing yours confirmed that painting it is a good idea.
My nana had that same hutch since I was born. I wish I got it when she passed. Love the way yours came out. That is exactly what I'm looking to do. Trying to find a hutch without the doors like you originally wanted. Yours came out so beautifully 😍 I absolutely love it!!
That's looks really good - I know you didn't think you would like the light gray but I think it really adds a lot to the piece. Love that you took the glass doors off and the bottom shelf to make it work for a coffee station.
considering that you got the body color because lack of choice that is a winner!!! love that color soooo beautiful. great vision and the results are wonderful.
Shanon you are my favorite diy-er. You are creative and thorough. I also like it when you pull your hair back out of the way and dress in" get to work" clothing. You keep it real. I really like this one.
I did over my bedroom furniture from dark to white and 3 pieces had the crown molding as your hutch. I thought that was the toughest to paint. You did a wonderful job. Ryan too!
It really way!!! That took a lot of time to get the paint to go where it didn't want to go. The paint brushes I used helped with that a lot though thankfully. I bet your furniture looks amazing!
Been hoping for content about your cabinet redo. You gave partial peeks of this stunning re-creation during that IKEA table video 5 days ago. The black hardware, especially those new drawer pulls, are perfect. Subtle grey with white is an excellent choice for a background of your varying seasonal decor changes. This upcycled project is beyond gorgeous, Shannon!
I absolutely love that platinum color it's not too grey and just the right amount of white .This turned out beautiful I'm watching this as I work on my hutch as well ..here goes nothin😁😁👍👍
I am IN LOVE with this!! WOW, what a transformation! I have a 30yr old bedroom set that I am thinking about repurposing now.... heehee!!!! Thank you for sharing this project with us!
I have a huge China hutch and have always wanted to do something with it and you have just started the ideas coming. Thank you. It turned out just beautiful. I enjoy your channel very much. 🙏🇺🇸🌻🐝🌼🦋👏
I did not sand or seal. I only sealed the "table top" with Polycrylic so it was protected from scratching. I don't like how most sealers change the color and texture of the chalk paint so I just try to be super careful to not chip/scratch the paint.
Shannon, this turned out beautiful. I have a hutch to redo as well and you have encouraged me to start it. It’s going to be all white. I have been able to get Linen White in Rustoleum paint due to the shortage of white paint. Amazon has it and Walmart too. So I will be doing my piece in that. I do love the gray and white contrast on yours. Though. I ❤️ all of your videos. You make crafting so much fun. NowvI am addicted and I look at everything I see at yard sales, etc... as potential future flips or maybe a part of a new creation. Fortunately I have a huge stash of furniture waiting for help to keep me busy during our Covid time. I limit my times out do to my age. Thanks for sharing this!
Wow what a difference. I have a huge piece just sitting in my Garage waiting to get painted. I will take out the windows and put chicken wire in their place. It will look similar to yours. I hope I can do a good job like yours. Thank you so much. Gorgeous piece!!!!!
That was an amazing transformation! I have an old piece if furniture that used to belong to my Grandmother and then my mom. I was very fortunate to get it when mom passed. Looks like a book case/hutch cabinet. I like the natural old look but your cabinet is beautiful! Might transform mine now!
Wooooo Hooooo ....another AMAZING COFFEE STATION to be jealous over...LOL!!! I LOVE IT !!! Love it...Love it !!! What a great transformation on that! The two different colors are not that noticeable on video. With your galvanized items in it, it looks amazing ! Love the pulls you got to...my favorite style! I have a similar looking Hutch that I use for my book case. I want to do the DIY Mercury glass look to the glass. I can take each individual piece out and do it all at once. But I am loving your look! Oh decisions decisions ! LOL! Hugs to you 💕💕💕💕💕.... Great job on this !
I actually kept the doors/glass from mine and want to add the mercury glass to them and use them for other decor piece! Great minds think alike :) I am so excited to have a "coffee bar" inside the she shed finally! I knew you would enjoy that Hugs to you too!
That turned out super pretty, and adding the white really brought out the gray. Looks great against your brick wall. Whoever gave it to you will want it back when they see the transformation lol. Can't wait to see how you change it up for the seasons.
Oh my gosh! The piece I just gave away way almost the same...i just didn't have the front doors the you removed and your shelves are glass and mine were wood. If I would have seen this a couple months ago I would have kept it and made over exactly like yours. I LOVE IT ...great job!!
I think the gray looks beautiful with the black hardware and white inside backing! It breaks up all the white,(dont get me wrong I absolutely love white haha)it looks beautiful in your space! You did an amazing job! I ordered a set of those brushes per your recommendation in the last video you did when you showed them. I have really enjoyed watching all the videos you've done about the process of your SHE Shed and all the gorgeous projects and items you bought/DIY/made for inside as well! It has given me so many ideas for different places in my home since I don't have a SHE Shed. Thanks for sharing your ideas and the process with us! I hope your enjoying your SHE Shed! Lots of love and well wishes to you and your family! Xox-Delia
You will LOVE the brushes!! I have used them a lot lately! THat has always been my home- I may be using my she shed to design in but I want to inspire others with their homes. Home renos for us will have to wait till next year - so MORE TO COME :)
I really enjoyed watching this on how you painted this beauty. Glad that you left the glass in on the ends. You used some of the cleaner I didn't even know that you could use. Learn something every time I watch you. Will you be adding another piece of furniture to this area or will that be the end of.. Soon you will have it all done & then you can move in.. Thank you again for all your tutorials along with your time & many talents.. Thank Brian too.
So glad you are learning new things along the way! I am learning as I go too. I have one more piece for this space that is coming soon :). It's already built, yay!

Beautiful transformation. I did one similar. The only change I made was to use a walnut stain and poly on the base shelf where the Keurig sits. It made it more durable for water and coffee stains.
So refreshing to see another crafter who loves to do furniture flips too! Your project turned out beautiful! AMAZING!!!! Love it!
Thanks so much! 😊
Looks so much nicer without the doors. Very nice makeover!
I was so nervous about taking off the front! Once they were removed I felt much better about doing it. Changed the whole functionality
So incredible how paint can transform an outdated piece into something amazing. You did an awesome job. Your coffee bar looks amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The pale gray was a good choice even if it was not your first choice. I couldn't tell that it was gray until the final shot in the video. Looks really good.
Oh yeah I have the same cabinet I will be taking it apart. Thank you for showing us how to do it. Have a beautiful and blessed day.💖🌼💞✝️🙏
Fun to see the evolutions of your spaces, past and current. Didn’t occur to me frankly to not distress a piece like this, and I think it’s beautiful and clean this way, so glad to have watched this before doing my hutches I have.
Wow! What a transformation. That is really gorgeous! What a difference. Thank you for sharing
You are so welcome!
Love the grey, I think it looks better than it would have in white! Sometimes limited choices that force you to choose something different turn out better in the end. Beautiful job!
Absolutely love the touch of doing the back in white. Added deminsion
Thank you! I'm so glad I did that too. Something different
You are so right! Like flipping and old bathroom. Paint does wonders!
I repainted my china cabinet last year from cherry wood to white. But now I want to take the doors off! I love yours! Great Job!!!
My son bought it for me for Christmas.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!!! I HAVE ONE SIMILAR TO THIS AND CAN'T WAIT TO REDO IT. AT first I thought that the paint was light but then when you put it next to the wall its not white! I love it!!!
Girl this is fantastic! I'm so inspired.
That turned out beautiful 😍 What a difference! Doesn't even look like the same piece of furniture!!
I also used the glass to make paper templates and then transferred it to the metal. Perfect fit
Great job Shannon. I inherited my mom's maple cabinet, slightly larger than yours, and I've thought about painting it but wasn't really sure. Seeing yours confirmed that painting it is a good idea.
I kept mine the wood tone for awhile to see how I liked it, but it just wasn't working for me. So paint it got! Such a big difference.
My nana had that same hutch since I was born. I wish I got it when she passed. Love the way yours came out. That is exactly what I'm looking to do. Trying to find a hutch without the doors like you originally wanted. Yours came out so beautifully 😍 I absolutely love it!!
Aw thank you!
I was a little ify when you said you were painting over it and removing the glass doors "WOW" was I ever wrong this came out "GORGEOUS" I love it! ❤
Absolutely gorgeous
Thank you! 😊
That does look like fun and so gratifying.
Truly a beautiful transformation!!! Wow!
Thank you so much!
Shanon you are my favorite diy-er. You are creative and thorough. I also like it when you pull your hair back out of the way and dress in" get to work" clothing. You keep it real. I really like this one.
Aw! Thank you! My favorite projects are the ones where the saw dust flies and can get messy. Means big things are happening!

I have a cabinet just like yours. You gave me inspiration to change mine.

That's too cool! Changes the whole look with a little bit of paint and time!
I absolutely love that platinum color it's not too grey and just the right amount of white .This turned out beautiful I'm watching this as I work on my hutch as well ..here goes nothin😁😁👍👍

Yep you turned that into something soooo pretty! Chalk paint is magical. And now I know the Kilz is good cuz it looks beautiful on your hutch.
It is magical! And yes would recommend the Kilz! Love how it went on.
Color choice was perfect. Looks great!
Aw thank you! Choosing the color was the hardest part!
It came out so beautiful!

So glad you enjoyed it and that it gave you some ideas!
Beautiful! And what a change. I would also like to know if you sanded between coats and/or added a protective coat at the end. It’s just beautiful.
I did not sand or seal. I only sealed the "table top" with Polycrylic so it was protected from scratching. I don't like how most sealers change the color and texture of the chalk paint so I just try to be super careful to not chip/scratch the paint.
It’s beautiful! Wish I had a place for something like this for a coffee bar!
It is a pretty big cabinet. Maybe a smaller buffet would work for your space?

Beautiful. I have a very similar china cabinet but I don't have the patience to update it. Your work however is always flawless and professional.
Thank you! It does take patience for all those coats of paint
This is beautiful! Thank you for sharing!

Lol! No way I'd give it back now, haha! Love it too much! I'm already excited to add pumpkins to it :)
Wow Shannon! I'm not a gray person, but the cabinet color looks fabulous against your brick wall. Beautiful update.👏👏👏
Aw! Thank you!
Oh my word. Beautiful ❤ Excellent work. TFS
Thank you so much!
The cabinet turned out great. I love the changes you made to it.

Beautiful! I have one very similar but the back is mirrors instead of paneling. Would you paint over the mirrors or try to remove them?
Oh no! I'm so sorry! Sometimes it is hard to see the potential in something. This one was a diamond in the rough too
I had actually thought about doing mercury glass to mine! It may be pretty in the back of yours!
Beautiful transformation. 🥰
Thank you! 🤗
It looks amazing.

Definitely drab to an improvement! thank you!

Wow! Nice job, it looks great.
Beautiful!! Had noticed it in some of your videos.
It took me a bit to get to the makeover but finally found a weekend I could devote to the process. So glad I did! It was fun and make such a change!
