Awsome work, putting the light on a real secret style. From france early 2000' we used to call this style "knuckles" because associating it with Kucklehead Zoo and im glad i have learnt more on the origins, it is precious content. To me, Rolland, Paranoid and Ben were models. Dyzee was a footwork model. Cheers to this and the good old days.
Dyzee Diaries it’s all good, I was cracking up when you started acting out the moves when he was talking. Great video! I loved it!!! Keep them coming!!!
@@DyzeeDiaries thank you for this series. This helped me out alot with foundations to it. It's kinda been a guessing game from watching videos, this style is def not dead.
OMG thank you so much for this. I was watching all of this as it happened in the late 90's via VHS tapes from the UK, keenly looking for an alternative to old-school styles. We were _so_ hyped about all these bboys and all those events. So happy to hear Jin namedrop Homewerk. Hilariously enough I was told that Jin quit because he was sick of people biting his stuff and I took it with a pinch of salt at the time but according to this it seems pretty bang on. Reminds me a little of Manson being mostly famous for seeing other people do his moves. :(. Flagpole sitting is new to me though so its nice to get the extra context!
Tiiiiiiiight. FRESH video Dyzee! This is Drew Looner. I loved this video. So cool you even tru in a quick l'il lesson at the end. You've inspired me to try those. I'm not a leggy/hand transfer style bboy so that's sayin somethin. The entire video was inspiring. I send you'z a Thank You. for takin the time. for dope bboy content. I DUNNO I JUST FEEL THANKFUL WATCHIN THIS!!!
Dyzee, thank you for the insights on this video and making this video possible. This style is an important spectrum to the bboy culture and history, and your doing a great justice for making these videos, and also the contributors; much props for sure. Further, I think this is very important history of bboy culture to document and capture the originators for generation of bboys / bgirls to come. What I fear most is that, 100 (even 1,000) years or more later, people may forget who the originators were which is a scary thing IMO. And , some may claim they made the moves etc which they really didn't. Heck, even acknowledging that some of the moves from the monkey pole style is humbling to know and it was just adopted to the bboy scene. That's why I envision one day an official museum or an encyclopedia that validates the names of the originators / different styles so it will be forever etched in the sands of time for the future generations. It seems like RUclips will be one of the main sources of history / information to refer to which is not good enough in my opinion (but is good for now don't get me wrong!). I acknowledge that there are some bboy videos like The Freshest Kids that help with the history / culture. I mean, there are museums of ancient art work and sculptures; one day there should be a museum that shows / displays / contains archives of the different bboy styles and moves. The first ever bboy museum will be in fruition by 2050, mark my words (probably too far fetched, or no?)! I envision it having a timeline sequence of most or all orginators; virtual stations of examples and headphones to see what the styles look like. A thought just bolted my mind; Dyzee, I hope one day you may publish a book in the future. Finally, I think a diligent, smart and hard working bboy/bgirl will take some time to appreciate how far bboying has gone from knowing a little about gems like this video indeed. Just my thoughts. Keep being awesome and HNY to you!
Love this series. It brings me back to when I was a young buck. We use to bboy on cardboard with the homies at the middle school by my house at the time. GOOOD times. We never got good or anything but we had hella fun and it kept us out of trouble for the most part.
Great Work! thanks a lot for doing this for the culture! remember first time i so this style! damn, omg, think i was around 2000 off, flexible flav, Ronnie was battling with them! dope dope dope
Nice video, this style is basically non existent in my local scene and I don't think I've ever seen it done live. Can't wait for the rest of the episodes!
Kujo has an old interview from like 06 where he said that him and Soul Control originated this style ( Bboy Inferno mainly focused on this style ). He said it was one of the old timers from LA Breakers that when he saw them doing this that he said it was like " footless footwork " and that after that that's what they called it. He even went on to mention how many people called it the Las Vegas style ( KHZ ) because of bboys like Ben who were known for doing this. At the same time, off topic, he went on to mention the difference between Airflares and Airtracks in that same video. Cleaning up a lot of the misunderstandings from people confusing the two moves.
Hi....I'm Jin. What was cutt off from the interview was my mention of Spidey doing press walks, but I wouldnt consider him the inventor. I'm not sure about "flagpole sitting" but I did mention Chase and Bao doing it in FSS 99. I wouldn't say inferno did any of this stuff, but Chase (Soul Control) did one freeze like it. I would probably credit Chase, but not Soul Control on the "transfer style"....but Kujo definitely did do the "in and out" press to planche pretty early on. But the main style is centered around hand stepping, which came from multiple points of inspiration from different people about around the same time.
i havent watched the whole thing yet so i dont know if you mention it later but Kujo says that he made up this style and they called it floorless or footless footwork
I'm sure Flo master should be mentioned if you go back to bboy summit 1995 I could be wrong he did some similar low hand freeze stuff? Correct me if I am wrong
Sorry man. I come from a generation who digs their own music to be original, the only one with these tracks. But if i could find it, im sure you could to!
13:29 : Nice fake news : we in Europe cyphers and training were already using transfers in 1995-1996 (especially the bboys with gymnastic background, one of the best gymnasts of my country already did planches and handtransfers in the 90s in bboying). Exooberant, Ronnie, and other Americans did that much later all respect due. Same for abstract style, many other people and i did those moves in the 1980s (lotus and legs behind head, move taken from the Sammo Hung's 1979 The Incredible Kung Fu Master movie, the actor Stephen Tung did both legs behind head in that movie) in martial arts later in the mid 90s in Bboying (1996 Lotus freezes to handstand, later in 1999-2002 Lotus one hand hops, lotus planche to lotus airfreeze, and freezes with one or to legs behind the head). A Bboy from Thionville in France of the crew from Bboy Ramses Sadat also did flexible abstract style mid 1990s, we battled each other in my country in night clubs during that period. Also during Freakshow vs Insane Prototypes battle, hilarious of Freakshow to call out biting when they mostly stole moves from Europe (headspin to headstand and headtricks from SuperG and Bboy Elanspin, abstract combos, and transitions and moves from European crews and also from European bboys in cyphers when the Americans went to European events and underground events. Even Do Knock and Kujo as judges in Rotterdam 2001/2002 Battle of the Year Benelux and All Battle All event the day after, was amazed by bboys like SuperG, Sayan, Halim, new tricks and by other Bboys new tricks there, also where SuperG alone battled Flying Steps and Five Amox, shout out to Do Knock and Kujo, that was nice day to remember) Same for lotus mills done in 1996 by East European crews at Battle of the Year 1996 in Germany (and the guy is on video doing lotus mills at Battle of the Year 1997 official VHS tape, Americans often bite moves from early Battle of the Year and underground French Bboy events like 1000% and moves from the Style De Ouf website. Be honest. Even MTV American Best Dance crew took many elements, moves, themes, routines from major European events and BOTY crews. I often hear Americans also told the fake news that they invented airflare / airtwist / airtrack / vrille. The Real Who Recognize Real all know Ibrahim Dembele (Aktuel Force / The Family) did it first in 1995 on video TV clip (Faire Kiffer Les Anges spectacle on French Television with the crews leader Gabin Nuissier from France). Also Enemy Squad Crew Bboys from Hungary already did flare to airflare to flare in 1996. Where Europeans and Americans influenced each other much were the 1999 to 2005 era. Peace.

One of my favorite styles. I never knew what it was called for years. All I know is that Jin, Roland, Rockadile, and Ben were good at it. Lol.
Dyzee quit saying “Yea...” when Ronnie talks. Lol 😂
I was gonna edit out all my voice but got lazy and ran out of time. Sorry!!! Haha
