I’m from ecuador and i love going to remove myself from the bubble we all live in unintentionally. having a home in the US and having a roof over our heads when we go visit our parents countries. This video was greatly put as how they live, struggles of being evicted and not having food but still smiling for their children. this video brought a lot of emotion

Over and over again, we see these families, without a second thought, willingly give such a precious and rare resource to a stranger. Not only giving what they can't afford too, but giving more tham they keep for themselves. The culture in the US is filled with people who only look out for themselves. You see people taking pride on social media in living selfishly. And then these families, with less than we can even imagine surviving on, give so freely to a stranger, what they withhold from themselves. It's amazing to see the kindness they show to a stranger.

And about 600 000 people live in families that perceive salaries of 84 usd a month. These people live with 1.60 use to 2.60 usd a day..... The people you see on the video perceive a salary of 10 usd a day. So yes, there is way worse. People living in real misery with houses of 10x10 meters made of cane. 1 in 2 children don't have access to water. Yes Ecuador has a better GDP than Ukraine and other countries. But much of this money is in the hands of a few corporations who evade and use lobbying to benefit themselves and affect millions. The salaries are pure slavery.... yes we wake up at 5 am and come back at 7pm... For a slave salary of 360 usd (400usd)

It amazes me that even with the little they have, they will offer it to you just so you feel welcomed and at home. My great uncle and his family live in the mountains of El Salvador and they will go out of their way to offer the last bit of their food just to celebrate our visit. It's a dish in Ecuador, there is restaurants where they sell cooked guinea pigs, it's more like part of their culture, most of the times it's not like they have no choice, idk about this family tho, also I think they like eating them because they reproduce fast so you can get alot of food.

Incredible videos. I spent 2 years in Brazil and lived in humble conditions and spent lots of time in the homes of the poor there. I remember coming back and being blown away by the riches of the average American in the airport in Chicago, everyone had nice shoes and I remember how overly luxurious that felt. So easy to quickly forget how good we have it here. I like to show your videos to my kids to help them realize how good we have it here.

Im Ecuadorian, Guinea pigs are a kinda popular dish in Ecuador, not everyone eats them, most people don't actually, usually its natives from the highlands that eat them, it's in their culture, it's actually pretty good ngl.

I was trying to show my five year old some of the kids in your videos and how they live and how you help them and instead she was horrified by the women killing what she thought were pets. I love the work you do and have been listening to your videos play all morning while I cleaned out our dresser so we have a place to store my kids clothes and my daughter happened to start watching right as this video started and I had to jump and cover her little eyes. She's just old enough to understand what happened but young enough to be very upset by it. Maybe next time you visit ecuador you go to a town called “el corozon” in the pangua province. My grandmother lived in the mountains producing sugar cane candy/moonshine. A beautiful place to visit. MURPHSLIFE ahhh ok. I was in Ecuador last year for a family vacation I can’t remember if we stopped there. My family is mainly from Ambato but I do have family left somewhere in the mountains. I don’t think I gave you the correct province in my previous message. El Corazón is in canton pangua province of cotopaxi. If you are interested I know a humble family that will let you stay and explore the area with them. They work in a sugarcane field.

I accidentally watched this in front of my guinea pigs. They were trembling for a day. I feel so bad for my little babies.

Im Ecuadorian, Guinea pigs are a kinda popular dish in Ecuador, not everyone eats them, most people don't actually, usually its natives from the highlands that eat them, it's in their culture, it's actually pretty good ngl.

I was trying to show my five year old some of the kids in your videos and how they live and how you help them and instead she was horrified by the women killing what she thought were pets. I love the work you do and have been listening to your videos play all morning while I cleaned out our dresser so we have a place to store my kids clothes and my daughter happened to start watching right as this video started and I had to jump and cover her little eyes. She's just old enough to understand what happened but young enough to be very upset by it. A quick warning would of been super appreciated so I could of gone past that part or chosen another one of your great videos to show her.
