Ma'am there are many words which can be used as adverb, conjunction or preposition like before. Most of the time we struggle with it. If possible make a video on such words. Your explanations are treat for us.
Ma'am please make video on conjunction (part 2). It is but confusing to find out conjunction headwords are either adjectival, adverbial or noun . Thanks in advance.🙏
Headwords are key words or words that begin a phrase or clause. Conjunctions are joiners and begin subordinating clauses. They have the function of coordinating or subordinating two clauses. In a subordinating clause which is adverbial, you have adverb that begins the subordinating clause like when, where, because, as if, although, etc. These are called adverbial conjunctions because of their dual function. They show place time etc. therefore adverbial as they modify the verb, and they also join and therefore conjunctions. Similarly, the words who, which that etc. are conjunctions that join the clauses, but also have an adjectival function to describe the noun. In a clause you might want to call them adjective conjunction. But generally not done. Who by itself can be a pronoun in Who are you? isn't it? Function is all. Do not get tangled in labels. Ask what role the word is playing. The headwords 'and', 'yet', 'but' are just conjunctions in compound sentences joining words. The headwords 'that' 'whether' in noun clauses are conjunctions that begin the noun clause. But have no specific noun function. So i think the term noun conjunction is incorrect.
Ma'am the way you explain is mind-blowing. Haven't studied conjunctions like this before. I will also use these things like "conjunctions are like cement" while teaching. How beautifully you made it easy to understand. Amazing video as always. Hats off to you. I watch your videos daily and wait for more as they always have something new to learn. You are my favourite❤lots of love to you.. Thanks a lot ma'am 💐🙏
In this sentence the verb is 'loves'. To play is an infinitive and 'swim' is a bare infinitive (he loves to play and to swim) where the 'to' has been dropped. It is not a verb.
Ma'am please clarify my doubt. A man sat under the tree, near the hospital, while waiting outside for his son to come out. Conjunction_ while Adjective_ waiting Preposition_ outside. I'm having doubt wether outside is a preposition or noun ? We can replace outside with inside , beside , behind. So it should be a preposition. If Waiting is adjective then conjunction headword will be adjectival. Is it right ?
Why are you so confused? Is the word waiting describing a noun? If yes, what? e.g waiting room, waiting father, waiting man etc. So what is waiting? Outside is a preposition. while....shows time. sat when?
Preposition shows relations to object position Adjective can also be participle eg waiting when u describe a noun Waiting room Waiting hour etc Adverb describe verbs Adverb comprises of time eg when since days before etc
1. The reason why I hate him, that he tells a lie. 2.The reason why I hate him, he tells a lie. 3. The reason why I hate him, is that he tells a lie. (Mrs. , which one is correct?) If the first and second ones are correct, what is the verb of reason.
