- Frank Iero stopped by for a chat backstage at 2000 Trees Festival where we talked through his recent album 'Barriers' with his band The Future Violents, why he chose to include a reference to My Chemical Romance classic 'I'm Not Okay (I Promise)' in his single 'Young & Doomed' and how he got permission from the rest of the band to do it. Plus, he tells the story behind writing 'BFF' with his children, how he ended up working with Ray Toro again on a recent project and what it was like performing at the 25th anniversary of Warped Tour in Atlantic City.

1) Aw, cool reference to a song a love!
2) People are gonna be so triggered and it’s going to be HILARIOUS! Mwahahaha!

To this day I think the MCR break up will forever hurt Frank deep down. I mean I've heard story's that they were all so upset about the break up but Frank was the one that was the most upset about it. I mean MCR has been a part of his life so such a long time. But I'm happy Frank still talks and hangs with the band mates :)
i mean, i might be totally wrong but from what i’ve seen frank has always seemed an incredibly passionate person; he’s talked about how the betrayal from their 3rd drummer who stole money from mcr broke his heart and all that; and i think that if you’re that passione, especially with a band that was there for 11 years, there’s no way it doesn’t hurt you deeply when it’s over. idk
