Those letters........ are from a memorizable creepypasta with no arms and legs, white skin, black hair, cries blood, also those unknown stuff are his letters for his language. I could renember what is it but......... i never knew its name.
I love the Ruins of Alph and I love the Unowns. Each Unown form is simple, but when you take all the Unown together then they are complex. It is how they vary and represent the letters which makes them fun. Unown are not meant to be viewed alone. The fun part is how you can make collection quests around them, predict which Hidden Power they might have depending on their shape, spell with them as they are Pokémon and a font at once, and see how the different letters are represented as Unown. When you view one single Unown, he seems boring; but when you consider them all at once, then they are exiting. The Unowns designs are great. They look friendly yet so mysterious and alien that they are still somewhat scary and off-putting. Their shapes allow them to be used to communicate messages in an eerie way which endows the Ruins of Alph with a sense of eeriness that really fits well with the sense of mystery. No other Pokémon can do that likes this, no other Pokémon can set that great mood that the Ruins of Alph has. Unown is one of my top few favourite Pokémon. I like them a lot. Printing them is amazing and a great award for finishing this awesome mission in the awesome ruins. Also, when you are done catching Unowns, you may also be able to catch Smeargle. They appear in the Ruins of Alph, as well. They seem to like to write sentences and words on the floors and walls and to make drawings of ancient Pokémon on sliding stones.
I was the kind of guy that just accepted things in game, so I never made the Alph-Alphabet connection. All I thought was: Catch Unowns, spell curse words... Anybody else that did that?

You just got another subscriber. I needed to see this video my whole life. Also the ending to this video reminded me of the movie A Christmas Story in that scene with the decoder and Ovaltine.
I remember getting all the Unown as a child in my Gold version. Renamed each one to its letter and stored them all in my Boxes in the Pokemon Centre. But when I found out it was just to unlock printing messages with Unown characters.... I was pretty miffed. But, at least I had completed this tedious task.
10:20 actually, it might be a simple translation error. Considering that Pokemon originates from Japan and translations weren't too accurate back in the days (I feel asleep anyone?) it might be as simple as that. ...too bad I am too lazy to research into that myself.
The "statue" outside might also maybe refer to the Bellsprout-Tower. Once again, maybe a mistranslation. While pretty unlikely, I guess It's better to point out anyway.
i just sent it to the gen2, cloned it via save interruption, sent the original back to blue and walked through Johto with a Aligator AND a Tortoise. God i felt smart back then....
As someone who was 7 in 97, I have an actual memory that of this. Red and blue were behind the times, a lot of people played them on a GBC in Europe because that was already out when most kids were getting them their copies of red and blue. So when gold and silver came out, the colour wasn’t a big deal, especially after yellow. In fact, the graphics of gen 2 really did look 15 years out of date. The n64 and ps1 were on a totally different level and only made the Zelda style graphics look ancient. We played and loved these games because it was Pokemon in the year 2000! We adored it. Our adventure was continued through the new game! THAT was the big deal. As was the game boy printer actually...

how I got here: - I watched a video of the underrated youtuber whoisthisgit of the creepy moments series and he was talking about the ??? radio channel an that there is no reason for it to exist but one backstory and he'd save it for another time - in the comment section people were talking about the lost silver creepypasta - checked it out on a video by tertrabit gaming - got spooped out - watched a great video called the best of the worst sonic rom hacks - in the bar to the right there was this video by the same youtuber the cheery vedeo was from - checked it out - wrote a long comment about it
Funny, I got here from Whoisthisgit too! But I am from "Top 5 Dumbest Robotnik Moments" video, and RUclips recommended me this video. My favorite series from Whoisthisgit is "Creepy Bad Endings". It is fun to see other endings from other games.
What freaked me out about the Ruins of Alph was that everyone disappeared. The woman in front of the puzzle as soon as you finished it; and everyone inside after. :S
Watches the reward "I'm so glad I went through all of this just for this reward" me: I'm so glad I wasted my time watching a video on something I already knew... at least I found out ruins of alph is suppose to be alphabet
Wait like the staue of that legendary pokemon that to get it you have to get all the pokemon like it 4 of them correct? And 1 of them has the dots on it that makes the letter H right?
Ok, something happened with me and unknown. Once I had a dream about pokemon ranger which I have on my DS, I walked outside of a building and in my dream I found the letter A unkown when I never even heard about unkown, when I saw that was an actual pokemon, I was shocked because the letter A is the beginning of my name and I saw an A unkown in my dream about that game (this was real shocking to me because I was just a little kid less than 10 years)
I like the headcanon that the Unown were creations of Arceus to communicate with people. A single Unown is weak, just like a single letter of the alphabet is meaningless. But you put a bunch of them together and new meanings are found. The people created two shrines to Arceus to communicate with it. Alph in Johto and Sinjoh in unknown regions, likely somewhere between Johto and Sinnoh. And the third movie somewhat ties into that idea, where a swarm of Unown are able to reshape reality, much like Arceus could, perhaps as a residual amount of power. After all, it can't be a coincidence that Arceus is able to warp time and space, as well as create new life entirely, in HeartGold and SoulSilver if you bring it to the Ruins of Alph. Sinjoh is a combination of Sinnoh and Johto (although the Japanese has the name Shinto, so this argument may not hold), and both are the only places where they exist outside of remakes. And let's not forget the key thing: Arceus is the Alpha Pokémon. Sure, that indicates he's the beginning, you know, Pokémon god, but at this point, there's so much circumstantial evidence that an Alpha Pokémon communicating with alphabet Pokémon just makes sense to me. I guess we'll just have to wait another week for Legends Arceus to see if this is true.

honestly was hoping for a more in dept look at this place all secrets ext ext
So Pokémon crystal was literally a advertisement for a printer.
Gold and Silver also have the printer gimmick if you got the full pokedex you can print the achievement document if you go to Gamefreaks building.
You just got another subscriber.
I needed to see this video my whole life.
Also the ending to this video reminded me of the movie A Christmas Story in that scene with the decoder and Ovaltine.
I still have my Game Boy Camera. That thing was dope!
Its amazing to see people are still making videos about this. Bravo
The narration is on point i love it
It is very creepy that you put the lost silver Ethan on the thumbnail.
"It was just there. It had some black glasses... It was pretty cool" *SQUIRTLE SQUAD*
I remember getting all the Unown as a child in my Gold version. Renamed each one to its letter and stored them all in my Boxes in the Pokemon Centre. But when I found out it was just to unlock printing messages with Unown characters.... I was pretty miffed. But, at least I had completed this tedious task.
'uhm... can i say...
what was behind the third and final puzzle thing?
I forgot.' -A. Unown
"Escape from what?"
"Escape from, Vorkuta!!!"
I've been sick for weeks and I've been miserable, but holy shit your EDITING IS SO FUNNY. thank you so much for making this
I spent months looking for a crystal onix at Mt. Silver!
The second Gen games really pushed the bar for Pokémon games.
Yeah till this day that was one of my fav Pokémon games
I love your enthusiasm when you narrate
B L A S T O I S E B O Y Z
i just sent it to the gen2, cloned it via save interruption, sent the original back to blue and walked through Johto with a Aligator AND a Tortoise.
God i felt smart back then....
S Q U I R T LE S Q U A D
So what statue was it?
Ruins of Alph-abet?dude i know i'm slow but not THIS slow 😂
I remember I was sooo curious about this ruins and it's been on my head for several months, but in the end I surrendered because i'm stuck and didn't know where to go
It's a bit late but thanks for this! 😀👍
"I was 3 when gold and silver came out" speak not to me of the ancient magic, for I was there when it was written
1:24 Kanto looks really small looking like that
been playing crystal my whole life, I just keep replaying it now I randomize.
The statues are the legendary poke ho-oh as if u have a ho-oh and all the legendary dogs entie raikou suicune then it opens a secret room in the
Unown cave
Honestly I’ve always kinda thought the statue was the rock blocking part of the ruins but just got worn down overtime since t wasn’t protected by the thingamajig
Miniel me too XD
I remember during my childhood days, i played pokemon gold i did capture al of this unknown pokemon.
I remember discovering legendaries by doing stuff similar to this
I was soooo fascinated by the ruins of alph as a kid, but never played crystal. This vid brought so much closure to ten year old me.
Alph for 5ma5h!
please just call it smash 5, or now ultimate.
WAIT Alph OR ALF
Funny asf. I'm glad I didn't waste my time to figure that out.
how I got here:
- I watched a video of the underrated youtuber whoisthisgit of the creepy moments series and he was talking about the ??? radio channel an that there is no reason for it to exist but one backstory and he'd save it for another time
- in the comment section people were talking about the lost silver creepypasta
- checked it out on a video by tertrabit gaming
- got spooped out
- watched a great video called the best of the worst sonic rom hacks
- in the bar to the right there was this video by the same youtuber the cheery vedeo was from
- checked it out
- wrote a long comment about it
wow i always do had weird stories of how I founded some youtube channels
Its really intresting and intruiging to heard anoher person says It's Story
magi productions I watched the same video by whoisthisgit. But I just looked up the meaning and found this video
omg same
Funny, I got here from Whoisthisgit too! But I am from "Top 5 Dumbest Robotnik Moments" video, and RUclips recommended me this video.
My favorite series from Whoisthisgit is "Creepy Bad Endings". It is fun to see other endings from other games.
Nice Ewan pic
I literally cried my eyes out of laughter. Great job on the vid editing. Only whished you had more!
I wonder what your reaction would have been if you played Lost Silver when you were younger... lol
What freaked me out about the Ruins of Alph was that everyone disappeared. The woman in front of the puzzle as soon as you finished it; and everyone inside after. :S
Swear
No one.
Not a single person.
Neither any soul.
0:58 Look at this black.
I got an ad the second he said "you can stop gearing me ramble about caves now guys" XD
It's was the sinnoh statues I'm pretty sure
Celebi Shrine
Ancient history and civilization stuff like this intrigues me to no end, whether it be in real life or games like this.
You Ask Your Self... -What Could Possibly Go Wrong?-
Wynaut?
I remember playing for yearrrrs and then randomly exploring and ending up in Jhoto blew my little mind away
The way this guy says "pokeymon" hurts me
the way you spell pokemon hurts me too
The tile puzzle are all easy but THE RADIO SOUND AND NORMAL SOUND IS VERY SPOOKY AND THE UNOWN MESSAGES ARE SCARY TOO
I like this retro game version of TooManyMoths more than TF2 version. It's kinda odd to see soldier outro...
Ok, something happened with me and unknown. Once I had a dream about pokemon ranger which I have on my DS, I walked outside of a building and in my dream I found the letter A unkown when I never even heard about unkown, when I saw that was an actual pokemon, I was shocked because the letter A is the beginning of my name and I saw an A unkown in my dream about that game (this was real shocking to me because I was just a little kid less than 10 years)
I WOULD ALWAYS choose ferraligater over blastoise, and i had a BLAST
