Deflect is a big topic, but most of it boils down to duels (a rabbit hole I will not be going down right now). Other than that, you use it to rotate and sometimes set up engage opportunities @@banethor
poke, do you think genjis current downfall is due to the sustain and amount of "I can't die now" abilities that nearly all supports have, or is he just a little undertuned?
if they reverted him it would be QoL so I think it's the support powercreep. The real problem tho is the lack of flexibility from genji mains, he still has the tools to do everything he needs to but you just have to be smart and adapt, which is rare nowadays
@@HarmlessPoke A quick peek at Overbuff shows Genji to have both a high pickrate and a high or average winrates for DPS from Platinum onwards. Even in Gold his winrate's actually better than most and he's picked more than most heroes. Even in Silver Genji's starkly middle of the pack. Hard to imagine that the character'd be trash and simultaneously be above average in both popularity (which tends to depress winrates) and winrate across the ranks so your diagnosis is likely the correct one. Maybe he's just a case like Winston where the numbers feel/are anemic but he has the ability to apply them where they're needed, and numbers applied to the proper place win games?
Genji’s might complain as much as supports, but Genji mains have a good reason as Genji is weak as of season 4 OW2. Supports have some of the most OP kits in the game. They (Ana/Bap/Zen) are stronger than a lot of the DPS even. I think blizzard should buff Genji because it takes skill to be good on Genji, and I’m sick of Blizzard not rewarding high skill plays, but at the same time they seem to have no problem rewarding relatively low skill ceiling heroes like Moira and Mercy. Genji being good is good for the game. Tracer being good is good for the game. High skill ceiling character’s being good is good for the game from a competitive perspective. I’m sick of Blizzard constantly undermining its competitive scene. They put so much effort into rank, and it seems they finally fixed it, but I’d like to see their balance philosophy favor high skill plays and heroes more so than low skill plays and heroes. Just some thoughts…
100% agree. Don't overbuff genji tho, revert his changes and nerf the support powercreep and we are good. Also, the balance team needs to focus on keeping a good skill/reward ratio for the cast, because characters like moira are good for the game as long as they are never punching above their weight
Blizzard and the majority of players (wallets) are on a crusade against high ceiling characters, skillful plays and adaptivity. These things require a dedication and a competitive mindset, which leads to a gap between players performance, which lead to a frustration that being put onto: 1) teammates (often) 2) game design (gains popularity with each day) 3) themselves (almost never) Blizz are ruining (and will continue to do so) their own game to pamper casuals to gain money. Sad.
@@dmitrychirkov4206 I don’t think the game can survive long term if it doesn’t start to favor high skill plays. Ultimately, people know that there are levels to competition, and Blizzard denying that by making lower skill heroes powerful goes against that natural grain. For that reason, they will think the game is “crap” because it doesn’t fit in the natural order.

@@HarmlessPoke the thing i find fun about genji is doing the cool flashy things that he can do, if i cant do that then he's really boring to play. i hate poking the enemy team as genji, i would rather play ana at that point, shooting people as ana feels good cause of the feedback u get when u shoot an enemy. also s76 is pretty fun, the loop of off angling and repositioning is fun, hell just sprinting itself is fun as soldier.
@@iSuckAtGamesGG I get you, but you don't have to give up flashy plays to be a smart genji. It's not a binary system where you are either dumb and flashy or smart and "boring". Even with all the handicaps I have I still pull off many really cool plays, and would get many more if I were to get the opportunity to play on low latency or to grind the game more

Yes! How to get healing?
@@jonasan-san uuuuuuhhh... we don't talk about that.
=P
Don’t spam “I need healing” and stand still behind cover ❤️❤️
I think you talked a lot about dash as an attack/escape tool but not so much about deflect. Any insights in that area?

what ping does he play on?
150 if I'm lucky, 180+ if not
I say the skin name genjiman and genji main like Benjamin and that’s the only reason I play genji other than it’s pretty fun
These tips really show that they really should think about nerfing genji. They should also put sojourn slide on a 3 second cooldown to compensate

@@HarmlessPoke Hi mr. streamer! :D
as a top 500,000 genji player the best tip i could give to anyone is to go to spawn, hold H, and pick literally anything else
while that might be optimal for climbing, it will probably hurt your fun & improvement =P
