@@CRob172 It was the first time that Jericho did the walls on top of the ladder and according to Jericho, it was Benoit’s idea to do that. It’s something that Jericho did multiple times after the match.
@@tayloriousmaximus I was thinking about that too and it’s not as talked about because of Benoit’s part in the match. I wasn’t sure if I’d include since I’m not sure if we are including TLC matches with only Ladder matches.
@@tayloriousmaximus yessss, I honestly think it’s better than TLC 2 and it doesn’t get enough love, maybe because the star of the match was the man who popularized the double murder suicide dive
That Jericho vs Michaels match is up there with some of my favourite Jericho matches including his WrestleMaina match with Shawn Michaels, his Wrestle Kingdom match with Kenny Omega, his extreme rules match with CM Punk and the Elimination Chamber 2002.
Yup. Was a great opening match, really surprised me. Just showed how amazing Brodie was, especially a man of his size. And also showed how Ziggler is one of the best workers & most reliable wwe wrestlers when it comes to putting on a showstealing match.
I was in the crowd live for that match. It was a barn burner. Even my dad who was with me (and not at all a wrestling fan) thought it was great! He said “Wow. That was really good!!” And cheered lol. I was surprised to see him into it
I don’t feel like HBK vs Y2J is under appreciated. Many people praise it and talk about how great the match is. Many people say it’s one of the greatest matches ever.
The Bret and Shawn match I remember from the first ladder match dvd wwe put out and I remember as a little kid loving that match does anyone else get stoned and watch there most nostalgic moments from when they where kids?
If this list were expanded to include other companies, I'd include the Starrcade 2000 ladder match between Three Count, Knoble/Kurageous and Yung Dragons. It was a great ladder match that nicely used ladders to create scaffolds from which moves were done. This being WCW, they couldn't help but include a few odd wrinkles, such as starting the match as a regular tag and having three teams compete for a title shot for a singles belt. But outside of those items, this was balls-to-the-wall action.
I wouldn't consider these "underappreciated" per say. More like "not mentioned a lot" as the rare gems that created moments for the fans since the introduction of the stipulation back in the old WWE. *Christian vs Shelton Benjamin* was fire in late 2009.
Jeff Hardy vs Edge from Extreme Rules 2009 was quite a good one from what I remember Also surprised Harper vs Ziggler from TLC 2014 wasn't on here. Only watched that just the other day and it was probably one of the better ladder matches of the 2010s.
The Hardy’s vs The Worlds Greatest Tag Team from 2007 is a hidden gem of a ladder match. I watch it everytime I watch One Night Stand 2007 and still be amazed of the 4 giving it their all for the World Tag Team titles
I'm glad Christian vs Del Rio were on this list. I was there to see that match live when I was 12 and I remember hearing a car horn, looking towards the stage and flipping shit because it was Edge cing down to help Christian. The second Christian grabbed the world title, the crowd was electric. Though 5 days later he lost it, the moment still holds a great memory in my mind.
“Then Orton popped up, and we all know how that went.” You mean a really good feud and a series of underrated title matches between Christian and Randy?
@@aleksanderb.5254 Well ya, he was playing a chickenshit heel. Doesn’t change the fact that we got to see Christian hold the title a few times and the matches in question were definitely high quality.
@@mattj4112 And Christian didn't have the need to play such a cowardly winny-ass right after the heel turn, could have scored at least one good and convincing victory so he could have some credibiltity at the end of the storyline and maybe his main event days could have had a longer life.
What was truly insane about the Hardy Boyz WM 33 ladder match was the fact that only the night before, they wrestled in another ladder match, dropping the ROH title to the Young Bucks.
I remember a shoot video where someone got mad at creative like Michael Hayes for booking the Raw Hardy's vs E&C match as they are just wearing their bodies down. I can't remember who the wrestler was or what the shoot interview was.
Jeff Hardy Vs. Undertaker Ladder Match > Shawn Vs. Razor Also TLC 1 at SummerSlam 2000 is still the best TLC ... Hardyz Home town NC elevated every spot
Ngl kinda surprised Undertaker vs Jeff Hardy isn't on here, especially since it's one of the very rare moments where Undertaker breaks character to give respect to Jeff, despite Taker being a heel at the time.
You guys should do a list of "worst ladder matches ever" Sabu vs RVD on ECW or Goldberg battling Scott Hall for the possession of a stun gun or HHH vs Kevin Nash for a sledgehammer can be likely contenders.
You forgot Triple H/Rock for the Intercontinental title at a Summer Slam when they were midcarders. That match showed that they were destined to be rivals for a long time and it isn't remembered much.

Those are great choices but the Dolph Ziggler vs Luke Harper from TLC 2014 is not on this list :( it’s my personal favorite ladder match and another was Christian vs RVD on RAW in 03
Wen i was little i seena ladder match with eddie G and some one and i think it was on SD and a fan ran into the ring and threw Eddie g off the ladder I don’t remember who he was fighting but i think it was for the Ic belt but at the time I thought it was the funniest things ever

True
Everyone knows the most underrated ladder match was jeff hardy vs rvd for the hardcore title. That shit was amazing and no one cared
That is truly underrated I'm my opinion glad to see that it's still remembered
Jeff and rvd are top 5 wrestlers of all time for me. I aint ever forget that one. N I watched it live on ppv w my pops like all PPVs of those years

Here to mention Rock vs Triple H from Summerslam 1998. Great match.

I was at No Mercy 2008. Michaels vs Jericho is easily best match I’ve seen live.

I wish wwe would being back the ladder match for the IC title at mania. It was always one of the best matches of the night.
And the MITB there too
Edge vs Christian from No Mercy 2001 is very under appreciated and a really fun match!
Miz vs Ziggler from TLC 2016 doesn’t get enough love
Morrison needs a heavyweight run in WWE. Hes been so underrated and utilized in WWE runs
Jeff Hardy vs Edge from Extreme Rules 2009 was quite a good one from what I remember
Also surprised Harper vs Ziggler from TLC 2014 wasn't on here. Only watched that just the other day and it was probably one of the better ladder matches of the 2010s.
That Jericho vs Michaels was really good. One of the best matches of the Suit wearing Jericho.
What about Flair and Edge on RAW? For wrestling his first ever ladder match and being in his 50s, flair put on a hell of a show
Rvd vs Eddie Guerrero comes to mind for me. Also Jericho vs Benoit.
I was in the crowd for the RVD/Eddie Guerrero match where the fan kicked the ladder over. That was a wild match for sure.

I still believe that Finn Balor Vs Kevin Owens from Takeover Brooklyn is underrated because of what preceded it on the card.

I actually agree with you, can you Do a Retrospective on Christian! He DOES NOT GET THE LOVE HE DESERVES! He is one off my favorite wrestlers. Period.
I Love all Christian's matches absolutely top Notch
My 1 pick for this list was in fact: *Christian© - V - Shelton Benjamin: ECW World Title Ladder Match* as I just also thought despite that PG Era stoppage in play, against all those odds of hypocrisy, it was a great Match-Up.
