Just want to say your crushing it with these videos and I can tell your going to blow up soon . Keep at it and thank you for the recaps they are perfect!!!!
hmmm, the hooded guy in the rebirth trailer is introduced to rufus as an emissary from wutai so it's almost certainly godo katsuragi. not to mention, i seriously doubt they'd have a random character from a little-known and not very popular game occupy what appears to be a fairly significant role in a flagship game. sorry but it's probably godo
Could very well be but unless they changed his hair from black to blonde/orange, I still think its Glenn. Not to mention, I point out that Glenn and Sephiroth's confrontation in the First Soldier takes place in Wutai. Assuming he survives the encounter, him staying in Wutai is not out of the ordinary. Especially since AVALANCHE establish their base of ops there for a few years after its inception in Cosmo Canyon. Also the "random character" argument holds no water considering Leslie and Kyrie are from the novel "The Kids Are Alright," and are now fully featured characters in Remake. Good theory but I can't get behind it.
@@graysupernova the guy in the trailer has black hair, like godo. glenn is blonde. leslie & kyrie are hardly major characters, whereas this wutai emissary is featured significantly in the rebirth trailer and likely features significantly in the plot too, so the "random character" argument does indeed hold water because you have an already established character from the original game who's far more likely to be the hooded guy. i'm a big ffvii fan and had never even heard of glenn; your reason for thinking it's him is that soldier had a presence in wutai due to the war so he could've what, stayed there and defected to them then got a lofty diplomatic position ahead of anyone who's actually from there, and he has a (wrong coloured) beard. my reason for it being godo is that he's a known character (yuffie's dad) and the leader of wutai in the original game, and has a dark beard, so in every way he fits the bill perfectly, whereas glenn doesn't. it's your theory that's reaching man, it's godo
@@wolfgangrecordings I respect your theory, and I'm not dismissing it entirely but mobile game or not, First Soldier is canon to FFVII. Glenn is now established as a key player in Sephiroth's life. Never heard of Glenn? My video is literally just about him and his team. He's a new character that is officially in lore. I think Godo could very well be the cloaked figure but I still feel Glenn has more reason to skulk around, reveal himself to Rufus in private and look as dirty as he does. Mostly because planetolgy and Wutai sentiment lead to AVALANCHE's creation in the first place. Their base was positioned in Wutai where I believe Glenn fought Sephiroth one month before the final battle of Wutai (watch video for more). No one knows what happened after that battle or to Glenn. I just feel that the creators of the game and story wouldn't put moments and characters in situations for the sake of something just being there. Especially nowadays. The hooded figure resembles that of a thorough planetologist we see in Barret's Ever Crisis character story: no shoes, hooded cloak and while tattered and dirty, most likely die to years of use, that cloak looks identical to the cloak Glenn wore in his Sephiroth fight. By all means, keep your theory, I'll keep mine. I'll even fully admit I was wrong if it is Godo when I play the game on stream. I just couldn't leave the comment without clarifying myself 😅
@@graysupernova that's all well and good but the fact is glenn is a character from a throw-away spin-off mobile game full of microtransactions, and 90% of players of remake (and rebirth) will have no clue who he is, so the idea of building up a mystery around a character only for most people to either not recognise him or be disappointed when he's revealed makes no sense. it smacks of a cross-marketing strategy to me, no other reason to shoehorn in characters from lesser-known spin-off games and beef up their roles in a game that already has a very robust story and a huge cast of characters. i really hope it's godo, or gast, or veld even. you know, someone established in the original lore who people will actually be interested to see
@@wolfgangrecordings Well, regardless, I think that Rebirth will be enjoyable for both us. Thanks for the engagement and I hope at least one of us is right!
Hope you can get the next episode our quicker but with everything you still have to cover it's going to be tight to get this done by the time rebirth comes out
Funny thing, if you read "Picturing the past" from either Remake World Preview or tale of two pasts... We learn that not only was Glenn a character before first soldier, Glenn dies before his first mission due to mako-in-food posioning...and a former caretaker of ifalna's, a tall man who liked to dye his hair blonde, became Glenn. This man was constantly in search of money to pay his debts, and there's good money to be had chasing after the things Aerith painted.
I was gonna bring it up in Part 3 because that part leads up to FFVII in the timeline. Keep in mind Glenn Lodbrok and the Glen are vastly different. TL,DR: you're absolutely right about the mako food poisoning but it wasn't Glenn Lodbroke. Geddie (former caretaker) food poisoned his friend Glen and then landed in Mideel posing as him where he got Mako poisoning. its a whole thing, Ill add it in part 3. Thanks for that reminder though, I actually I wasn't even considering it until you mentioned it 😅
@@graysupernova to be fair, when I wrote that I didn't get far enough to hear any mention of the novel and when it got that far I was wondering if I should delete it. I'm just a bit excited because I discovered it recently, along with some pretty solid evidence that Zack being alive is before remake's gameplay even started, also thanks to remake world preview. (As in the four whispers in the Sephiroth key art, that sneak into Cloud's room for chapter 4 and tell him to sleep with Sephiroth's voice, saved Zack before destiny was thwarted. This seems to be to showcase massive events from Before Crisis which takes place only two weeks after Zack's death.)
If i had a nickel for every time Tetsuya Nomura made a mobile game important to an overall story, id have 2 nickels, which isnt a lot, but its weird that its happened twice. Im looking at you, KH Union X/Dark Road 👀
As an avid player of the FS br, this hurts. It was loved, but poorly marketed and managed. The gameplay, and systems were amazing, the class diversity, the weapons. The skins were a crazy sometimes, but look at my pfp. I made myself in game, and got to dress like Sephiroth, so complete childhood wish fulfillment, getting to explore the slums and plateside.
Honestly bro, I'm sad that happened. Ill be real, I really wanted to play it but was waiting for a steam release. Now I'll never get to experience it. Sick profile pic though
@graysupernova6598 it was a lost and squandered opportunity. Yeah, I'm not gonna knock your take. The gacha system was so bad that it took me $100 just to get the Sephiroth coat, not to mention unlocking its tiers and perks. Even the ambassadors, fought with the devs for more. More fps, more perks, more balance, more platforms. The news of the drop came at midnight on Twitter. They didn't even tell the people trying so hard, with limited resources. The only reason it made it til Jan and didn't get canceled smack dab out of the blue.. Was cause they'd already bought the server time. There's stories, I could tell.
@graysupernova6598 600hrs and $1,125 later, and the game still died due to behind the scenes drama and mismanagement. Thank you. It was my attempt to dip into content creation, aside from wanting to make a video of my college thesis that Sephiroth was a hero, and not a villian lol
I think Kazuhige Nojima said it because he is the scenario writer for a huge amount of Square titles but Tetsuya Nomura or some other person denied it saying it’s just a reference. It’s just a lot of hearsay with no concrete confirmation. So no swan dive for me yet
Isn't the shira masked dude in X in a picture you can see of the founding members of the company found in ff7 remake/CC with the same mask, I'm sure I heard that in a video.
Appreciate the tight script and nice production. I'm enjoying this. This is a substantially better way to enjoy Ever Crisis than the game itself lol.

Another absolute banger video! And yeah, Ever Crisis Sephiroth stuff got me super emotional. I felt so bad for him.
I think the remake games will finally show that Sephiroth was just a pawn. Redemption for the character.
Can't wait for the next video, awsome work :)
