I loved your reaction! As already said, the band's vocalist is Freddie Mercury (one of the greatest, if not the greatest vocalist in the history of rock), the guitarist is Dr. Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor and bassist John Deacon, the four are very talented and created the sound Unique to Queen, this song is a composition by Freddie inspired by Aretha Franklin whose voice he loved. Please, you need to check out this song live in Montreal, seeing the band live is the best way to get to know them, it sounds totally different, also check out Queen's performance at Live Aid 1985, please, there are many reasons to This is considered the biggest rock show in history and Queen's performance is breathtaking, it's about twenty minutes where you can't miss anything. Hugs from Brazil ❤

You *really* need to dive into Queen, most especially their live performances.
In concert, these guys were tightly locked together musically to make unforgettable music - and the audiences absolutely adored them for it.
Now that you’ve heard the studio version of “Somebody to Love” , there are two prime examples of them performing the same song live - at Montreal in 1981 and Live at the Bowl (Milton Keynes Bowl) 1982. Both performances are different from the studio version AND different from each other - but in absolutely GREAT ways. Many of us actually *prefer* these live renditions over and above the studio version.

I love how much you love this song... as you say, it's Real Music!
The band is Queen. Established in London in 1970
The late great Freddie Mercury: lead singer and piano.
Sir Brian May, lead guitar and backing vocals, occasional lead vocals and keyboard.
John Deacon: Bass, (and would teach himself to play any other instrument that might be needed)
Roger Taylor: Drums and backing vocals, and occasional lead vocals.
They have a discography of more than 200 songs for you to explore.
As others have already said, their live performances are everything.
New subscriber, hoping to follow you down the Queen rabbit hole. We Queen fans get everywhere, and we're passionate about introducing newcomers to their music.
Word gets around, and if you start reacting to Queen videos, your channel will grow like mad!
I suggest 'Save Me', live from Montreal 1981....

All of the band members are accomplished and wrote hit songs. The list of awards, accolades, and member accomplishments is stunning. Just this past July, Queen Received the Brit Billion Award for Streaming Milestone for Bohemian Rhapsody being streamed more than one BILLION times in the UK.
Sir Brian May, the quitarist, was knighted. He is also an astrophysicist. In an article from just this May, it is noted that he put his doctorate in astrophysics to use to help NASA return its first-ever asteroid sample to Earth. The sample was taken from the asteroid Bennu.
All have written songs for the band. It is not only Freddy that has sung lead on Queen songs. But the cool thing is how perfectly their voices mesh to create those amazing harmonies. Freddie incredibly also sings multiple parts with himself on some songs.
As with many bands, the total is greater than the sum of its parts. Together, they made magic.

QUEEN - is the name of their band. It has only the four members: Freddie Mercury (lead singer & piano), Brian May (guitar & backup singer, can sing lead), John Deacon (bass guitar - doesn't sing), Roger Taylor (drums & backup singer, can sing lead). The three singers (Freddie, Brian & Roger) can harmonize like nobody's business. When they are recording (like here), then Freddie joins back in to haromonize. It's taken to another level live on stage. Try this same song "Somebody To Love - Live In Montreal 1981" for a different, great, experience.

Queen is a British rock band that was formed in 1970 and was comprised of:
Freddie Mercury - Lead vocals and piano
Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocals
Brian May - Lead guitar and vocals
    John Deacon - Bass guitar
Queen has released 15 studio albums, 10 live albums, 16 compilation albums, two soundtrack albums, 2 extended plays, 73 singles, and seven promotional singles.
It is one of the most influential musical groups in history and their music is timeless. Their music has been able to cross borders and cultures to latch on to the minds of both old and young, Between We Will Rock You, Don’t Stop Me Now, and We Are the Champions, there is certainly no shortage of hit music that this band has created.

If you get a chance, Brian May, that brilliant guitarist, kept making music after Freddie Mercury passed. One of May's best he got the remaining members of Queen together for because it was about Freddie Mercury. It's called No-One But You. It's tragic and beautiful and powerful.

Queen were a band of four equals. All wrote multiple number 1 hits. All were well educated ( Sir Brian May, guitarist, also has a doctorate in astrophysics)
Their stage performances were remarkable for being as good as, and often superior to, their studio work. Queen was this foursome for twenty years, until the death of Freddie Mercury. After this devastating blow bassist John Deacon retired, and, after several years the remaining band members started touring again, now as Queen + Adam Lambert. They are still very successful. Freddie is still deeply mourned, and the bands fanbase is huge. You will not regret reacting to this song sung live at Montreal '81.

I was so very fortunate to attend several of their concerts in different parts of the world in the mid 80's...This band were the perfect storm, and Freddie was the God with pockets full of fairy dust, who ensured each and every ticket holder experienced the absolute time of their lives. One of the most iconic rock bands of all time, Queen is a force to be reckoned with and never stuck to a particular genre. When you first hear a Queen song, you will have no idea where it will be taking you but you will know that it is going to be a good song. With a catalog of over 200 songs, there is a lot to love with this band. You probably have heard some Queen songs in the past but just didn't know it was them. We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, Another One Bites The Dust, Under Pressure, just a few of their famous anthems. Love that you actually take the time to comment on the details of the music. If you choose to take the deep, deep, deep dive down the Queen rabbit hole you won't regret it. Queen has over 200 individual songs in their catalog, not to mention the hundreds of versions of the songs in their live performances. Queen is a unique band & they cross multiple genres, including rock, metal, rockabilly, gospel, funk, folk, blues, jazz, and even opera.
Absolutely watch the live version of Somebody To Love Montreal '81. Ater that I would watch the studio version of Bohemian Rhapsody, which is the song they are best known for (even though other songs are better known such as We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions and Another One Bites The Dust, most people don't know those are Queen songs).
Queen fans are obsessed with them & extremely loyal and you will be very popular (😉) if you start at the beginning of their career with songs from the Queen I album (1973) & work your way thru their catalog enjoying how they mature and grow as musicians, songwriters and performers.
You'll have to do Live Aid much earlier in the sequence than when it happens though because it's just too popular to wait until you "get to 1985" in their career. 😊

Thank you ! You’ve seen so much so soon. The group Queen lasted 20 years until the lead singers passing. They made amazing songs and you do know some, you’ll see, but all of their discigraphy is awesome and diversified. It made them great and untiring. They experimented and had the best sound ever. Freddie (lead singer, piano) had the best voice ever, a 4 octave range where he used also the tissues between the vocal cords too, like Tibetan throat singers, it’s why he had such a great range and fast bravado, and Brian (lead guitar, vocals) and Roger (drummer, vocals) sing great too in their own rights, John (bass guitar, electronics) not so much, singing, but all their songwriting and contributions as talented artists in their own rights contributed to the greatest band ever. You’ll be going down the rabbit hole now. I’ve seen it over and over. I’ve been there for 50 years.

So, you haven't heard Bohemian Rhapsody? Lots of good Queen music out there. Freddy Mercury is the lead singers name. Every member of the band is super smart and educated.

Their live performances are better than the studio versions. Their Live Aide performance is concerted the best 20 minutes in music music history. Do your self a favor and listen to it.

I subscribed because i ❤ your reactions. I would love to see your raw reaction to Somebody to Love (different song than this one) by Jefferson Airplane. The melody and vocals are haunting! Check it out, please!

Queen is four people, but the bass player (John Deacon) generally didn’t sing.
