A very informative video. It adds to a regular review, where you can get info about power, fuel consumption etc.of tipical tests, but not from a real life user experience.
Thanks for the review. It helped me make a choice and I just bought a 2015 model with 30k on the clock for €3000,-. I enjoyed the testdrive a lot. I agree with your negative points. Mostly the storage space. After trying the Burgman 400, I was a bit disapointed with the Maxsym storage. I have issues fitting in one helmet. Let alone two. But I guess I will get used to it. The biggest reason for me to buy this model is the engine. It is so nice and fast compared to other models around this price. I really appreciate how useful this bike is, but in the end I enjoy a quick bike a lot as well.
Hi Peter. Glad it was useful! I'm a bit surprised it's difficult to fit even one helm though. It could be a particularly large one... some decent storage added should solve that problem anyway. Enjoy your ride and be safe!
Francesco Metalli my helmet has an airvent on top that makes it hard to close the seat. Its. HJC IS-Max. A pretty common helmet. But I already figured out how to close it. I just have to turn it a little. Anyways, I love the bike. Very fun to ride around my city of Utrecht. Thanks again for the review!
I bought the same (in Slovakia) this July for 6200€. New one, 20% VAT included. In Greece there are the same prices. (I was there for holls on the scooter.) Interesting such a differences. I made actually more than 9000km. No single problem at all. Only filters & oil changes. Wish you 1000s of great kilometers.
Hi Francesco! Nice and comprehensive video, very enlightening and honest. I am seriously thinking of buying the limited edition of it which currently is at € 5.995 in Greece plus some taxes. I would strongly advise you to include in your next video a real time ride with the scooter in order the description to interact with action. This of course involves specific equipment and mounting of your camera, still it is worth acquiring such mounting brackets if you are to continue filming and youtubing! Keep up with the good job!
Hi Tasos, thank you for the nice words! Glad you liked the video. I have been thinking of doing vlogging, but eventually decided I was not interested, for various reasons... but the main one is that I personally have never learned much from video blogs... people films while driving, and everything I see is the dashboard, the road, and little more. Meanwhile the RUclipsr talks while riding, with the risk of getting distracted... Call it a personal preference, but for the moment I am happier showing the various bits and pieces of the Maxsym, trying to explain what they do, how to manage them, etc... But, I appreciate your request. Maybe in the future I will consider it. For the moment, enjoy the next videos and many greetings!
All prices and other information are related to current offers in the Netherlands. Values are approximate. For more precise price information you need to check with your local dealer. Forgot to mention in the video - range on a full tank is approx. 300 KM. Also forgot to mention the Kymco AK 550 price at the moment is approximately 10.000 Euro at the moment in the Netherlands, 2000 Euro more than the Maxsym 600i Maximum legal speed limit refers to the Netherlands and only to parts of its highway system. Looking forward to questions and comments!
good video Francesco, i also have the 600i, i have had it for about four months and i have to agree it is a fantastic scooter! i recently changed the standard roller weights for 'tech pulley flying rollers 2' they have made a very big difference on acceleration and top speed is unchanged, next i am hoping to change the air filter for a BMC or DNA. it is just coming up to two years old and has about 3500 km on the clock. i have also subscribed so that i can keep up with your adventures!! ride safe my friend.
Thank you Don! I will check out the roller weights as soon as mine are due for replacement - still curious if the CVT will settle in! I appreciate the subscribe! I posted other video's, would love to have your impressions. Cheers!
Had the same problem with the cvt on my Kymco till i did it by myself. Need to open everything , clean, use very good lithium grease and clean with sand paper the clutch . Afterwards was working like a charm.
@@francescometalli1004 the friction elements , i had the same problem, the acceleration and engine brake was abit to harsh and had some vibrations and acceleration was not smooth , like the clutch was engaged to fast and brutal, i sand paper the friction elements , when you see them prolly they are abit burn , with some sand paper , clean them till they come clean and you can see only the soft material , from that on i clean them every 3-4k km and is amazing smooth , plus the engine revs abit more and give more power.
Hi! It greatly depends on what use you want to make of it... It's a great scooter, but if you ride only in city traffic it could make little sense - it's heavy and big. For anything else, including mix, it's a great commuting machine! Cheers
Hi! Nice channel! :) I can assure you if you do not have the front brake disks bended you must see if the front wheel is well calibrated and with the recommended air pressure! My GTS had a similar problem fixed with a new disk paid for by the warranty. Let me ask you a question: the disks are instable when you brake at 80kph and so on? Or you experience the issue after the scooter fall? A friend of mine have the same scooter as you and dont have any issue at all with the front brakes. Do not let the warranty end, requiring asap new front wheel and new discs, tire and brake pads and your problem will be solved ;) This is not normal! Cheers form PT
Hi Pedro! Thank you for the comment. The disk is not bent, I got it checked. The issue has been there from the beginning, and it does not matter what speed I am riding. If I use the front brake only, which is the right disk according to the service manual, I get some vibration on the handle. Pads were checked as well. Front wheel is stable also at high speed. It's a mystery... However, I don't care about it - the Maxsym breaks really well! Concerning the warranty, I am very inclined to let it expire and do the maintenance myself, it was one of the main reasons why I chose the Maxsym to start with. Cheers!
I can't compare. I never drove the BMW so I can't really say. However, a friend of mine has one and he told me a few stories about it... maintenance is not easy at all, and quite expensive. I personally find it difficult to compare two machines with such a different price tag. And for what I am concerned, vibrations on the Maxsym are totally acceptable
Hi Spyros. Yes, these scooters are perfectly safe as long as they are used properly. They need reasonable roads, they don't react well to off-road, and they can go very fast. Aerodynamics are very good, and the low center of gravity helps a lot in maintaining the balance and predictability while riding. But as everything else, if you ride them like you would ride a normal motorcycle it's very likely you would get into troubles. Same applies to some motorcycles too. You can't sport ride a motorcycle that is made for cruising, with low clearance and long fork...
Hi,is it combined breaking,i mean, does both front and back break ingage together using only,he t left(back) lever,i dont find it in manual,Tnx,by the way what is the best way to break the bike ?Using only front, rear or both, what are your experiences about it,its gone be my first scooter,i ride normal bikes, and almost never juse the rear break, just front and engine breaking.
Hi Peter, as long as I know the left lever is indeed combined braking, namely left front disk and rear break. I took it from a drawing on the maintenance manual. Front disk is good for stopping, combined for slowing down. But you don't have to use the combined, can keep using the front one only. Just check the pads after a while. I use the combined for city traffic, stopping at slow speed, keeps the front fork from sinking too often. Max has a soft front suspension, so combined braking tends to keep it more leveled. But, question of taste only. Combined not as aggressive as front only, and rear abs kicks in quite early. Cheers!

How does the heater grips work? Is it automatic? Or do I need to set a switch.

The TMax is really expensive, at least here... and it does not make a good commuter IMHO.
