Bonus material. Great review. Who's this Vigor you've been riding with?
Ha ha!!
I just took my first ride with this bum bag. It’s a lot better than I thought it would be. I was afraid it wouldn’t stay in place but surprisingly it’s solid. Plenty of storage for tools and whatnot. I’m glad I made the switch, the extra air flow on my back is worth it alone lol
I use mine all the time. I thought that I wouldn't, but I do. I love it.
Thanks Cody. Hitting like again removes the like. What a difference in mics. Almost didn't finish watching because the sound was so bad. Enjoyed watching you ride. Buying the pack and the little retractable badge thingy based on your review. Thanks!
It kills me that the audio is so bad at the beginning. Glad you stuck through it!
Man, I’ve been considering one of these for a while but don’t want to spend the $$$ for something which may not be all that more efficient for my normal needs. I agree with you on the capacity. Because I can only ride 1 or 2 times a week due to my work schedule, my rides are all generally between 1.5-2.5 hours. For me, and I’m like the opposite of a camel (I go through LOTS of water), that means 1L in the camelback plus a sports drink bottle in cool weather and one more liter when it’s warm. On hot days I’ve run dry and it sucks! Nice presentation. Maybe this’ll be a Father’s Day gift for me😁
I'll tell you, I've really been liking the Seral. I've been liking it a lot for road/bike path rides. I drink less water on those rides, so it seems like a really good fit for that. I just don't know how long the water will last when it gets warmer.
Thanks for the review Cody. I liked the trail video; especially the little jumps over rocks/roots. I didn't really notice the audio issue until the "tidbits" section at the end. Big difference.
As always, I appreciate your viewership!!
Used my Osprey Seral 4 today and I loved it until I went to drink. That magnet is useless. That retractable thingy is genius. I’m gunna get one and see what happens. Thx for the vid.
Two Qs...
1) What does it weight, and
2) With the water down low, does it take a lot of suction to get a drink? An adventure rider friend bought a frame-mount water bag and found it uncomfortably hard to get a drink.
Thanks!
Osprey lists the weight of the Seral at .82 lbs. and I wouldn't say that it takes a LOT of suction but I notice that it does take more that the Raptor backpack.
Thanks! It looks heavier than that, but under a pound isn’t bad. Good to know that it’s effective too.
Excellent gear review. No BS. Just good info.
I appreciate that!
I got mine a couple of days ago and rode with it yesterday. Really like it but one exception (which I knew was likely to be a problem)... the magnetic drink tube retainer... pretty useless. However, I like your idea about the security badge thingy. That looks like the perfect solution... thanks 👍
Good video. Exactly what I needed to see. Looks like the hydration bag doesn't have a quick connect.
I am thinking to get this pack from Evoc, love this brand,,,,, have a backpack from them, for sure nice walk around, thank you. About the sound, RODE came out with new wireless system and is only $199, worth to check out, looks like nice piece of kit! Thank you V!
I will have to check out the wireless Rode. Thanks!
Great review thanks.! I now have learned I was wearing the tube the wrong way round ie not around the right side around the belly ffs
At least you didn't wear it through your legs.
Lunch Ride put it this way wearing it the wrong side ie the tube, it came off on a downhill section n wrapped around my rear wheel dragging me down to the rear wheel luckily it wasnt at speed otherwise things could of got nasty!
Hitting like 2 times cancels it, so I went for third one. LMK if it's enough now!
Right on!
Nicely done video. Very helpful for buying options. Thanks
Glad it was helpful! Thank's for watching.
Fidlock bottle system plus the pack and your good to go
Great review 👍. I think I’ll be grabbing one based on what you’ve said, cheers 🍻
Hope you enjoy it! I really like mine.
Благодарю за полезное видео!!
Хорошего катания!
Do you think this would be okay to wear for long-distance runs?
Honestly, I don't think so. I think that it would be too bouncy. There are straps to tighten it down but it still seams like it would bounce too much. BUT I am not a long distance runner, you guys are a totally different breed of crazy so you might like it!! Let me know if you have more questions!
@@LunchRide Thanks! I've got a race Saturday that has biking and running. I'm thinking I'll get this and deal with any discomfort as I would use it for biking more in the future.
I know this is an old video but interested in this bag for day rides in the UK, so not exactly desert temperatures, and I can carry spare water in bottles on my hardtail frame if necessary. Would this be too wide for a petite lady? My hips are 36"
May try the Savu water bottle version.
Nice review Cody!
Thank you!
Do the side hip pockets hold a phone? I have an iPhone 7 btw
I just tried a test fit...that’s a negative. BUT, keeping the phone in one of the other pockets is not that big of a deal because the whole thing swings around for access very easily.
What's your opinion about it after time? Do you still like it, any pros and cons discovered during the rides? How's the material doing? Is it ruff and long lasting?
Great questions. First and foremost, I will say that I like it way more than I thought that I would. So much so that it is my go to bag now. The only time that I've worn the back packs were when I was filming or had to carry more clothes. The material is excellent, just like every other Osprey product I own. The downsides: 1. It's a little cumbersome trying to get it on when it's full. 2. If I don't get it in the right spot on my hips it will dig into my belly with the buckle. 3. As the water empties out from drinking I need to tighten the belt. 4. Maybe I have a sharp tooth or something but I have to replace the bite valve every couple of months. It's not that expensive or a problem, but just something to note. Hope that helps!
@@LunchRide Thanks for fast response. I'm aware that there is no ideal hip pack, but this looks close to it, so I ordered and will check it myslef. Cheers!
That would be enough for a dessert epic for me
Hell, I just about drank all of it before I've left the truck.
How do you dry the bladder after a ride? There are plenty of options for how to dry a backpack style bladder, but I'm having trouble figuring out a good way to dry my lumbar bladder.
Sorry for the late reply. I bought a spindle-style paper towel holder, the kind that sits on the counter top. Then I insert the spindle into the bladder so that it drains and stays open for the air to circulate a little inside. However, the way that the Seral bladder is, I have to insert the spindle in one side and then come back and do the other side. Hope that helps!
@@LunchRide Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a shot.
What is the weight limt for tbis bike?
Hi,good review. Will it fit to 40 inch waist?
With room to spare.
Does anyone use one of these for downhill? Don’t want to use a camel back with body armour on. And a lot of the time I’m far from the car so I need water and phone etc
Absolutely. I always use the other pack but I think the Seral would be a better option now.
can i bring mirrorless camera with this bag?
Depends on the size of the body and lens I would imaging. However, if we are talking like a Nikon Z6 and standard lens I would say no. Thank you for watching!
Hey cool video bud I ordered a back up magnet set 2 of them keep it on and you dont got that ghetto retractor
Nice, but I really like just dropping the hose and it reeling back into place. Super handy when rolling over techy stuff.
I almost think the whole lumbar bag thing is a fad. I have the Osprey Raptor also, and it is *so* comfortable, and you don't have to worry about the freaking hose coming loose and banging your spokes. The way it is designed really keeps it from making your back sweaty and gross. I would rather have too much water than not enough - that is for sure.
I don't know. I have a Raptor and a Syncro ( both are totally awesome) but it turns out that I use this hip bag all the time now. The only time that I don't is when I am either filming for the channel and have to carry more cameras or it's an epic ride and I need more water. For rides around the home trails and such, this has become my go to.
Very good
Good video, well put together and you seem to have your own character; you should do well. Subscribed.
Also appreciate the independent opinion.
Thank you! Opinions are what I seem to have the most of!
Can it fit a tire pump, phone, long sleeve shirt, and food all at once?
Maybe. It don’t know about the shirt. That would probably take up to much room.
Nice review sir
good video
Thank you!
If a 1.5 lt is not enough for an hour of biking man you sure drink a lot of water everyday. Good for you!
I do drink a lot of water. Thanks for watching.
Lunch Ride Thank you for the review! By the way I got the waist pack!
I drink alot while riding and was using an older raptor 6 with 2L, just got the seral in and I figure I can run a 20oz bottle on frame if needed then you have 70oz. I think this will also be great for 3hr gravel rides where 2 25oz podiums chills aren't enough, with this I would have 100oz total.. 👍
wow tools for others, this dude is a trail daddy. Being like that you´re not teaching them untooled people that they have to buy tools to not hassle other people when their shit hits their fan
I hit like AGAIN and it took away my first like. :(
I hit "Like" again and it unliked!! You asked for it. (J/K I re-liked after I un-liked... Your count is righteous.)
HA HA HA! Thanks for doing the extra work!
This is the first time I've seen anything from your channel. I almost clicked away because of the sound at the beginning. I'm glad I didn't because as others have commented, I think you've got something. Good opinions, just enough funny, and I liked your edits as well. Keep an eye on production and keep the content interesting ... I think you could be pretty big! *subscribed*
