I understand people wanting Pierce to succeed with the Texans, but other running backs with just as poor blocking are getting yards. That run that Akers made when there was no place to go and he reversed field and ran for a first down was enough reason to think he should be RB2.
We’re a zone run scheme team and those holes take time to develop. Pierce is a gap scheme runner, hell of runner, and extremely good in the kick return game.
This is probably a year early, but I'm betting Stroud and Stover are gonna be like Mahomes/kelce Brady/Gronk. They have that history going back to OS and have discussed their chemistry. Would like to see him get targets as the year progresses.
Are we sure it’s all DP’s fault? Is the line blocking like they need to be on running plays? Is the line executing blocks better for other RB’s? Let’s not put it all on DP go look at the tape. I’m sure it’s not all his fault.
Valid point, but I think after his struggles all last season behind an, at the very minimum, serviceable offensive line it’s worrisome. Especially since it’s mostly the same guys up front as last year. -Noah
@@ApolloHOU How is last season any different it’s the same line plus Kenyon and we weren’t really good at running the ball. Seth Payne put out a video and if you watch that the line isn’t blocking well on their assignments and not getting to them quick enough. He’s running where he’s supposed to and there’s no room. To me he doesn’t deserve all the criticism. The line needs to be better getting their assignments and the Giants knew when Kenyon was pulling on the tape you see it they pointed it out before the play was ran. Our line isn’t physical enough when it comes to running the ball and that needs to change quick.
As I was saying DP is a bust we should have hung on to motor and paid the man his dollars because he was worth it now Ryan's does not have anything to say about the running game he's just hoping that things will change with mixon in the backfield guys who are talking about the offensive line well it was worse last year and how did Devin singletary perform he was excellent because he had the vision he had the quickness the burst of speed the shiftiness and natural instincts which DP does not have no excuses just all of us me to stop making making excuses for him
