- Honestly there are only very few creators who can boast about being in this community for this long as creators and still creating until today. It blows my mind because this ‘hobby’ or ‘craft’ or ‘art’ or ‘science👀’ or ‘content creation thingy’ or however you want to categorize CHALK ASMR is a tasking activity and to still be in the game after six years speaks to the resilience, creativity, tenacity and sheer genius of Ms Rida aka @chalk.asmr.official
I mean her handle is literally the name of the game : chalk asmr. It definitely reeks of OG VIBES.
All this to say that I’m absolutely honoured to have been invited to join in her celebration and above all, honoured to be a friend to an all star like Rida. Chalk shaver extrodinare, and first to be featured by Instagram 🫡, ooooof 😍💕. Goals goals goals 😘😍.
And she came with a fab crush idea that would suit chalk lovers AND people obsessed with cornstarch (including me these days). I still think the squeaks are bit teeth grinding 🥶, but, I can’t help but drool. I nearly buried my face in the middle of the powder during the powder play 🫣.
I opted for flour power for this crush for 2 reasons. No.1, I wanted to starve you lot of A chalk since it’ll be featuring heavily in my thank you crushes next week 🥳, plus I kind of wanted to see what it would feel like crushing essentially flour (cornstarch) over more flour (floury chalk). It was awesome but also a bit redundant. It was almost like pouring cayenne pepper over a hot sauce (which I do sometimes because I’m African and addicted to hot spicy food 🥵 🌶).
Anyways my point is YES YES YES to cornstarch over flour power. It was HIGHLY ENJOYABLE to crush, mmmm 😋💕.

Cubes, full blocks, thins.....a plethora of opportunities for Flour Power to shine! 🌟 The texture is such an amazing contrast to the cornstarch, I think. Its powder is soft and lux, yet it brings the most satisfying crunch at the same time. Digging ones hands into that mound of powder must be tantamount to being wrapped in a fluffy towel, warm from the dryer 😌😌😌 The crunchy finale of that A chalk block roused a standing ovation!
