- What a surprising JizzMachine. Who'd of thought a bike that looks like this would be so much fun. Loved it.

Fuel tank could be a little bigger if im super critical but otherwise, a near perfect, compromise motorcycle.

Took me 5 years, but I was finally able to get one. What a bike!
I know how ya feel, mate ... been riding a 2016 since getting her from the original owner with just under 8K miles back in March of '19 ... I scream with delight every time I take her out ... and there will always be at least one triple digit event somewhere along the ride!! Incredible machine and your review is 100% pure fact ... this bike combines the best and marries the two riders in most of us, right in the middle ... well done!

After seven years of a 2008 FZ1, I pick up my 2018 S1000xr on 4/10/19 in Northern CA. Probably this grandpas last bike. Can't wait to hit the roads.

And I don't know if the lady behind you was "just" a friend, maybe even a daughter (who knows!), but if she's a new companion, that's a double strike on my happiness for yours! Haha...

07:47 - this, Baron, encapsulates EVERYTHING that is great about biking. The laugh you give off is something I do when:
a) I go faster than the speed of sound
b) I have a mental near miss
c) I nail a corner perfectly

I rode one of these for a couple of hours last week, gotta say, its gonna be my next bike! So comfortable, i didnt have a numb arse after 2 hours sat on it. It is definitely a confidence inspiring bike, much more so than my z1000. The power isnt as harsh as the z1000 but its much more progressive and smooth. I thought i was going to struggle with filtering on it as its so wide, but its also so high that mirrors dont become a problem. Thanks for the review, and confirming my own thoughts!

Best review on here. That road is one of my favourites, my blade feels at home when we do the circuit. Thinking about on of these as I'm a bit big for the blade but still need the speed!!

Oh Barron. I don't think I've ever heard you so happy. It is infectious, like Rossi's personality. It is pretty clear to me that you should buy this bike; I've been watching for awhile and I don't think I've ever heard you respond to a bike with such glee.
Jeff Keene it is excellent - and the glee was probably aided by the surprise. You just dont expect it to be this good.

Was behind that very bike a few weeks ago up the A32 (on my RR) and boy did it shift. Hugely impressive.
I've got the new s1000r, but my neighbour has this and it is amazing for something that feels like an old man tourer, it's amazingly quick. He rode from Calais to Geneva in one day and was comfortable when he got off it.
Enjoyed your review; also love the looks and performance of this motorcycle. Currently a K1600 owner yet this just may be my next bike...of course, with a lowering package.

Haha, your reactions to your experiencing that speed are evocative. It's hard to believe it moves and sounds like that even WITH a passenger...I don't even mind the looks. Maybe thinking about trading in my gsxr now that I have an rsv4...round out the garage, if you will. Nice!

I've made up my mind to buy one of these next year, (older model, i absolutely love the look) Just such a perfect mix of sport and comfort and quality of life, for 8 grand for a 2016 model, SE, with all the electronics, I couldn't ask for a better bike... also 6:10 BS, I was drooling over this bike since i was 17
Status update, had the bike for just over a year now, put 17k miles on it, not one slight, tiddly, little, tiny bit disappointed. Best choice I ever made. Thanks for coming to my TED talk
Hey Baron I just did back to back to back test rides of the s1000rr, s1000xr, and r1200gs (all 2015 models) with about 30-40 minutes of saddle time in each bike.
The power of the s1000 motor in both bikes is very impressive but the heat off the frame of the rr made me want to get off the bike after about 15 mins. The XR was pretty good but the handle bar is the buzziest I have ever experienced. Did you notice that? It was up until maybe 7500 or 8000 rpm then it smoothed out. Doesn't look like you spent too much time at the lower revs.
Thought the GS was awesome but not so easy to lane split with here in CA. But I can see why that is such a popular bike here.

I was looking at a 1976 Puch Maxi the other day, now this is on the scene I'm torn. Which do you think would cope best with regular commuting through Chichester and the ocassional ride in a northerly direction? Fuel economy is not important, but luggage space would be a consideration. I do feel self conscious when licking a yoghurt lid in front of people, but I don't think this would sway me either way? Thanks x
I think tall bikes look awesome. I was riding my little 125 in london and some stonking massive desert/adventure bike came growling past with MOÉ stickers on it. He was as tall as the double decker bus beside him. His bike sounded so nice. My next bike will be an adventure bike for sure.
I'm pretty much in love with the Yama MT-10 since I rode it, I'm planning to setup one with the tourer accessories for a nice little commuter and a weekend beast. However, this bike has me interested, I'll definitely try it out before buying anything...

LOVE it so far. Wicked fast, And handles really really well. I don't think I've gone beyond 3/4 throttle yet. Interesting thing I've found is that the engine seems to take about 10--15 minutes of riding before it settles in and runs a tad smoother...

Just test rode one as well. I'm in love. It's faster than my CBR1000RR but at the same time supremely comfortable. It handles too! I wish it wasn't so expensive though. In the US they're about $20,000 out the door.

Thats a funny review. I'm running a 2018XR. Also ride a 2015 GSA. But the XR will simply tear your damn face off. Unbelievable, insane power, excellent handling, superb technology

Vibes through bars no? I felt serious vibes when I road it. From what I can remember my RR wasn't as vibey. I've been on a GS fro a while now so probably forgotten what these bikes are like. God is it just be wide bars? Best gearbox and quick shifter, awesome.

I don't generally comment on videos on RUclips, but I must with this one......this video has made me laugh out loud more and get me into more trouble at work than when I watched any of your other vids, good work :-) I reckon this new beemer could satisfy my 2 bike - one bike for the road , one 1000cc track bike - garage, without feeling short changed by not riding a 1000cc sports bike on the road anymore.
