    Honestly?
    Tank was out of position a lot, but so was the entire team, tbh.
    The number of times I saw Bastion attempting to be a tank is concerning. Soldier didn't seem to know where he was half the time.
    Mercy was spending way too much time out in the open or right next to dangerous enemies.
    Moira was doing a lot of funni fades *into* danger.
    And yeah, the tank was doing a lot of 'I AM A TANK' nonsense.
    This whole game was a case study in how not to do positioning.
    This is why the mindset of 'focus on yourself' is so prevalent. Anyone on this team that was blaming others for throwing didn't have that right, cuz they were all kinda throwing.
    But the person that threw most of all was probably Orisa. Literally *giving up* and dicking around in spawn is never justified. You're playing a game with 9 other people. Grow up. Do your best and take the L if it comes.

  • @sylvievadimsky7515
    @sylvievadimsky7515 11 месяцев назад +65

    So, this Moira is suffering from something I like to call “micro-managing.” It is very easy due to Moira’s high healing output to be constantly obsessed with doing everything as if you are the solo support on the team. And, in lower elos, it can be very easy to lose faith in your other support.
    But this, my friend, is your duo. You can comm with them to make sure they have heals. Trust them to do what they need to do to heal the DPS. Have them call for help or healing if need be. In a situation with a Mercy, you are responsible for your tank’s heals.
    It’s hard not to constantly micromanage because, especially if you play other supports, it can be easy to get addicted to the endorsements you get from healing everyone. If you’re going to play Moira past Gold, or even efficiently in Gold and beyond, you’re going to need to DPS more and get aggressive, and people are not going to like that. Get used to being hated. Embrace it. Take pride in being annoying to everyone around you.
    Also, if one solo ult is all it takes to be called a “tiktok Moira” these days, then I guess I’m that times 1000 lol.

    They mentioned that they had the most healing in the game. This is something that low elo players need to learn stats do not matter in the slightest. Yes they show you whose just complete getting rolled but high stats matter nothing. People have started learning damage numbers don't matter but you can have 75k healing and still lose. It truly matters how your using your kit when your healing and who you're healing. I wouldn't say Support is the most difficult role because every role has their own tasks and difficulties but Support is the role that gets punished the most the second you tunnel vision

Elims or save heals are much more important, keeping someone alive tht is getting 4 kills a fight over dumping 6k heals every minute into someone getting 0 kills a fight is more important. Too much dmg wthout elims is also just healing feed for the other team giving them ults.

    i just wanna say that for the record, i was not trying to heal the enemy rein in the sigma ult, i acc sent out the wrong orb and then you can clearly see at 4:04 i faded in front of my duo who was on crit, and turned around to try and heal her tho she already flew away TT
    but yes, i should have gone in with my tank more & trusted mercy n the dps to deal with the flankers themselves. I've been trying to get better at keeping myself alive as a support, and it's honestly just so hard to stay in a spot that is useful without immediately getting rolled, esp with an aggressive tank like that, so i didn't know where i was supposed to go in a lot of situations that wouldn't end in me getting killed.

      so the thing about support positioning is that it's never static. you will very rarely stay in the same place for very long, aside from right at the start of defense. this is okay! learning to position as support is learning how to find good cover no matter what. you can push up with an aggressive tank (to a point lol) while still using cover and having an escape plan. you don't have to give enemy spawn a lil kiss, but you can typically push up more. it can be helpful to find a spot where you're like "I know how to get back to safety from this spot, this is as far as I'm willing to go in, I will save my fade and I know where I will fade to"
      it's all about having a plan and then like five more plans for when the first plan inevitably goes to shit lol it's about adapting but adapting within a certain set of parameters, like always always always being basically halfway behind cover at all times, just peeking out far enough to do your job.
      I wrote a whole comment of extra thoughts but hopefully this helps more generally too!

      If we're thinking of support roles then Mercy would be in charge of backline because she's damage boosting ideally and Moira is frontline because she needs to suck the enemies to get more healing. Of course you were in a tough situation with 3 people harrassing your backline most of the game so it's kind of a team failiure that you didn't figure out how to attack that problem. The tank can't do much about the backline. Ideally one of the DPS players adjust to deal with it, but they didn't really so at that point the Support players should probably adjust their play. Illari and Brig are my favortites for dealing with backline problems, but that's just prefrence.

      Your tank was not aggressive. He was doing his job as a Sigma and playing on cart the whole first round. Also esp as a moira you can get out of so many situations, and as the only main healer it is 100% your job to keep that Sigma alive and healthy. Mercy is damage boosting or healing backline. Staying back there with them just creates more targets for them to shoot at. you also have insane DPS as a moira. get up in there with the sigma, throw a damage orb, that extra burst can win team-fights. as a moira you should never be looking to heal mercy. even if she ends up 1 hp, you're messing up your positioning and it crumbles the entire team, mercy should have the movement and survivability to get out and self-heal. if she dies, atleast you're making plays with your frontline.

    No way these comments are this one-sided. I think it’s fair to say that this Moira was overprotective of their support, but I think it’s also fair to say that the tank didn’t turn around A SINGLE TIME to address that his back line was getting flanked the entire game. Their DPS ran amok the entire game on the supports without the tank batting an eye or at least wondering why his supports are dead every fight. I would honestly blame the tank for having zero awareness of what’s going on behind him just as much as I would blame this Moira. At around 19:37 the solider and reaper run down on half the team without the Orisa responding even a little bit and that was the story of this entire game. Like there was definitely a bunch of questionable decisions made by the Moira, but how do you not notice that your team is being flanked for a whole game?! As a tank player, this could not be happening to my team, and as a support player, I would hate to have this as a tank.

  • @sethescope

    my first piece of advice for this Moira is to play with their sensitivity settings. they are incredibly slow to turn around and react to things, and its not always that they dont notice something. when they do notice something, it looks like they need to move their mouse twice in order to do a 180. or, if you have the ability, adjust your gaming space so you have more room to move your arm. either way, you need to change something so you can turn around and actually react in time.
    second, it's good to be aware of your second support, but you have other things to do too. Mercy not only has the support passive but her own passive too - sympathetic recovery. Mercy will heal 25% of the healing they do to an injured ally. so if your Mercy is safe behind cover, don't worry about them. part of learning to play Mercy is learning to play safely so you dont need so many team resources.
    i think this shows one of the downsides to queuing with people. there is a tendency to focus waaaaay too much on your friends, to an extent that you end up making bad plays in order to keep them alive. if they are mature people, they wont hold it against you if you have to let them die and they will take responsibility for their own gameplay. if they get mad at you, you should probably sit down with them and have a talk OR, if youre not close, maybe consider only queuing with them in quick play.
    also, don't use your orbs to try and make up for your mistakes. orbs are good for damage and getting juice back or burst healing or AOE healing for multiple people. if you're paying attention and positioned well, you won't panic and overuse your cooldowns and youll begin to understand when you need to orb and when your primary healing is enough for the job
    also, don't worry so much about the flanking Moira. worry about making sure none of your teammates are low. a flanking Moira in your rank is only going to get the value you allow them to. choosing to be distracted by them when realistically there's nothing for them to gain by flanking is giving them value. attention and time are resources in OW, just like cool downs and ultimates. you need to use all resources wisely.
    good positioning will make the game easier for you. positioning is how we as supports keep ourselves safe. it's also how we reduce our panic and nerves. if you're safe, that's one less thing to worry about. saving your fade to escape means you won't freak out about someone flanking because you have already made a plan to deal with danger, you saved your fade and you can use it to get to safety. you can do the same thing with your healing orb, you can save it for yourself so you don't need to worry about the random Moira and can stay focused on your team because your orb will heal the damage. this isn't to say ignore flankers completely, but you dont need to take the 1v1 when your team needs you. succ them a bit, then turn back to your team.
    think about it this way, if you can't confirm the elimination in 3-4 seconds during an active team fight, then you need to look back at your team and see if they need you. dont tunnel vision. keep your head on a swivel. the more information you have, the better positioned you will be to make good decisions.
    consider not holding down left click so much. don't spray and pray your healing will hit someone - that's a guaranteed way to waste your resources. position yourself behind your team so you don't need to spin around healing. you will save so much juice and be able to heal people throughout tough fights if you do this.
    before you use fade, ask yourself: do i NEED fade? at 15:48 ish you fade away from an enemy when you could have just walked back through the door way and saved the cool down
    16:28 ish you didn't need to orb your mercy and ended up wasting it. Mercy wasn't taking much damage, if any. try to be more mindful about your orbs. the cooldown isnt insanely long, but if you don't have it when you need it, it can be disastrous and that cool down time will feel like it takes a year and a half.
    16:58 when you use fade, use it to get to SAFETY. don't use it just to get away from the immediate threat. you faded from enemy soldier....... right into the middle of the enemy team lol i think it would have been better to fade back towards the doorway that goes to your spawn and go up into the hallway and heal from the window.
    17:10 I get you wanted to do damage to the reaper, but using it on only one person when another team fight is about to start isn't the best move. you could have used it on the entire enemy team and gotten a chunk of ult charge. instead, you used a cooldown and didn't get anything in return.
    18:06 dealing with an ulting soldier is not your job. you will not win that 1v1 unless they're literally 1hp and you're full. don't go for this. just don't. go for cover, save yourself because if you try to save someone who is out in the open and put yourself out in the open, neither of you are going to survive that. it's better that your team is down 1-2 than 2-3 people.
    21:19 okay i feel like an issue you might have is you don't understand the reach of Moira's healing. the healing is as long as Mercy's beam length (15m). so if you could heal someone as Mercy, you can heal them as Moira. go into the practice range and practice healing the bots taking damage and slowly back up until you notice your healing is no longer reaching them. i promise this will help. you currently overestimate how far moira's healing goes and end up wasting quite a bit. this will help with that.
    another issue i see is that you never have a plan for falling back. you fall back into very random places instead of falling back to safety. on this point, you want to fall back towards the mega health pack. there is good cover on that side and will put you closer to respawning teammates and out of enemy LOS. remember: you need to escape to SAFETY, not just escape from an immediate threat. honestly, something that helped me years ago was exploring the maps and identifying good spots for cover and positioning and also, when i watch highly ranked players, i watch where they position and ask myself why they position there. that will help you learn how to position instead of just memorizing where you see other people stand.

      16:35 was the best healing orb she threw all game. Not because it actually healed a ton, but it was smart to aim down and bounce it vertically to heal herself. I haven't played in awhile, but moira/bap were my mains, and most of her heal orbs had no thought to them at all. You gotta play the angles and bounce shit correctly. The high level version is predicting where people will go and bounce it to maximize coverage, and she did NONE of that ever. She just threw it directly at the problem, minimizing how long it was in play. The self orb at 16:35 was the only semi-clever one she did all match.

    One of the main issues I saw as a GM moira was using right and left click at the wrong times. Healing when nobody is in range or when they see an enemy and not using dmg when they should. Orb usage was also off, healing orb when the team is full hp and not using dmg orb nearly enough. There was no dva which is perfect for moira since the dva can’t eat the orb, throw tht sh*t as soon as u get it and try and throw it at angles you know will ricochet in ways tht u want it (not saying you need a masters in geometry but most angles are pretty ez to guess). Tank placement was incredibly bad so that isn’t always your fault but playing moira properly can snag 1-2 kills when they commit super hard to get tht out of place tank. Also, start to do movement when your dmging so you aren’t an easy target and practice shading in more way thn going head in or behind cover, use it in less predictable ways (never use shade to go in to ult, you should always have shade wen you use coal so you can dodge cc or use it to get some range when you are low). Moira is a fairly low skill character tht, if played properly can be a menace to the other team. The other team also wasn’t really playing a good comp for a moira, try to play ana into tht so you can anti the tank/reaper and have more heals on your tank from range when they overextend.

Also, watching these videos along wth a few others like Flats really opens your eyes on certain mistakes you might make and not know u make. If you are interested in raising your rank, put on one of their videos inbetween games, helped boost me from masters to high GM just from hearing the mistakes I make and how to correct them.

    1) i would not choose moira on this map on attack side especially if my team wont push that cart past that sniper balcony;
    2) their mercy was healbotting the whole time i would not worry about micromanaging my heals and focus on my tank and help peeling;
    3) in my games i use mostly damage orbs to charge my ult, finish low hp enemies and recharge my heals, while using my healing hand to, well, heal my tank;
    4) need to learn to manage fade cd to use it to get out of bad positioning, to escape from enemy and to help team when needed;
    5) i would ignore sombra most of the time, if she's not good (its low silver lobby) she's not gonna kill u, just heal urself with orb, help other support and mind ur business.
    overall this lobby is so lost💀

    theres so much going on, horrible positioning, constantly wasting orbs/heals on air or full hp team mates, the mercy always being out in the open and making stupid life choices , way too risky of resses, bastion trying to tank, and more like damn..

    I think y’all are being too hard on this Moira. Like they were healing. It’s not bad that they look at their Mercy and heal them. 90% of Metal rank supports do not peel for their fellow support. This Tank was out of position ALL THE TIME. And they wanted both Supports up their ass with heals. So constantly saying like “Oh you’re focusing on keeping your backline up too much.” Like no, the Tank needs to learn when to go aggressive.
    Also half these comments are like “All they use is Heal Orb.” But if they threw out Damage the comments would be calling them a TikTok Moira, there’s literally no winning here for them.

    It feels like he just grab his first controller in his life, turning the cam very slow, constantly mess up the buttons for healing/damage orb, had to process what button to press in brain led to really slow reaction time.
    And beside bad decision, I think he's trying to do everything with his slow action. See A, turn to A, start to do A, saw B half way through A, turn to B, start to do B, see C, and so on.

They just look so clueless, trying to heal enemies, floors, walls, throwing healing orbs at full hp teammates despite looking at a crit teammate, just generally frantically looking around like they don't know where they are and what is happening...😅

    What annoys me the most… I’m in bronze one and I play a Moria a lot better then this 🥹 like 15k+ heals and good amount of kills, yet I’m hard stuck bronze because of my teammates… and since I’m Moria, I get flamed for dpsing when our dps is feeding with a 8-14 KD

    I was in a team on quick play playing on Rialto (pushing the payload while I was playing tank) a few days ago. Had an Ana, Mercy, Soldier and Junk Rat on my team since I was playing Junker Queen. Nobody and I mean NOBODY tried to help me in any shape or form. Ana or Mercy didn't try to heal, damages wasn't helping by assisting me with Hog or at least targeting someone so it was basically a 1v5. All my deaths constantly came from enemy Hog throwing me off the bridge. On the enemy team I remembered Hog, Bap, Widow and I think Pharah. The tanks in my rotation was Ram and Rein as backups. Soon as the game was about to end, our Ana said "Hog is better". I wanted to snap so badly during the game so yeah. I kept my attitude in check and logged off to relax my head

    8:18 that dude in chat, CL0UD_DEALER, was such an idiot. 'Moira too focused on dps'. This whole dumb meme that a bad moira must be dpsing too much is so stupid, and it doesn't mean a good moira ONLY heals. You might as well have another healer at that point, cause they are gonna run out of heals too quick. You have to constantly swap between heal and drain to play moira well. This moira BARELY dps'd and was tunnel vision'd on anyone losing any bit of health, to the point that they were sometimes out of heals when someone actually needed them.

    • @AAGEnzee
      @AAGEnzee 11 месяцев назад

      Or, more accurately, they would JUST heal for like 5-10 seconds, then JUST dps when they had a target (unless they got low and threw an orb to heal themselves). You gotta swap between these things much faster. Heal for 1-2 seconds, drain to refill for a second, heal again, throw a dps orb if their team is all bunched or a heal if your team is all damaged, etc.. The orbs are to maximize your ult charge. Which orb to throw is highly contextual, but you should be throwing one of them basically on cooldown.

    This kinda felt like a video where someone wanted to be vindicated from a salty teammate. Obviously there isn't a single game a silver 5 could submit that wouldn't have mistakes and playstyle issues. But this was pretty typical silver behavior. The tank was over aggressive for sure but if any of the 5 them played like a plat the could have flipped it.
