IMO turtle strategies are much more interesting than rushes. In turtle strats, you have to think about army composition, building and wall positioning, how to organize your village, how to optimize your resources, military strategy, diversions and traps, sieging opponent's defenses etc. Rush is just about who clicks the fastest and has the best civ for rush, it's just so stupid.

Drongo man. The playback is slow as hell again because your frame limit was set too low. Whoever recorded these games had a significantly higher frame-rate than your machine while you were casting. Recorded games are frame-rate locked, so if your frame-rate is lower (set or hardware limited) than the frame-rate the game was played at, the playback will be slower than real time. If your frame-rate is higher than the recorded replay's, you will play back faster than real time. My stopwatch shows 10 seconds in-game is averaging 12 to 13 seconds real-time for this cast. You have to change your machine's fps to match the recording's. Record one game at a 60 fps limit and another at 120 fps with an AI, and then play it back at the wrong frame-rate. You'll notice it immediately. You can even tab out of the replay with a lower background fps cap, and the replay will slow to a crawl.
This is what you call a catch 22, RUclips only supports 60FPS video, so you really want to record the replay at 60FPS. If the player who recorded the game had it set 120FPS than frames will be dropped while recording at 60fps, however if you do not the game would run too slow. I am not sure if the game tells you what FPS the game was recorded at so you would be guessing (or you would have to ask the player what the frame rate was set to). For live recording locking you fps to 60fps and recording at 60fps should give the best result. For recordings with a locked frame-rate it makes it hard to get right.
Lukas should have just moved to age 3 really quick insted of doing crossbow things against 5 outposts or at least train units with a lot of siege and mass pikes or something
This British strategy is simply countered by Doppelsoldners and Uhlans. It is possible to get out 20 doppelsoldners at 9:00. They shred everything with their high siege attack, absolutely fabulous unit. Should combine it with palettin settlements though. On this map there are no TP so the only option for xp is destroying your enemy.
well you get free uhlans, you can just use your resources to train doippels, so this is quite a very german strat. I can't fathom why this player didn't build seige when he saw just how long he was in age 1 for, just weakass crossbows the whole first 10 mins.
Is this kind of like a “bronze league heroes” thing from Starcraft? If not, you should definately do something like that. Would be pretty entertaining to watch.
Main thing is, that after battle everybody is general. Basic logic is that with right strategy you can always counter your opponent. Here german didnt use right strategy and he lost. Isnt that how strategy games should work?
Dont know why aging up so late when he could easily destroyed that turtle with a lot of petards and his free uhlans, he just kept harassing with xbows and skirms just because he wanted to kill some villies

Someone tried to do this on me and just walked him over with pikes and jungle bows
and that's the difference between this game and yours, you build pikes for seige, the german player did not, and let the turtle happen.
