She is like in the comics, they just tell Rachel's view much later in the story. I think they did a job here though, at least for those that don't read it. Rachel is perhaps more human than most characters actually. The creator himself said she represent a normal human with no powers, wishing she could change the world. Anyone would be jealous following Bam, which is basically the chosen one.
To add to this to make things a bit clearer for others (non-spoiler) - Rachel trying to leave Bam and saying she was going to the tower, made Bam want to enter the tower as well, which made him subconsciously open the doors to the tower (probably). And yes, Rachel technically counts as Bam's luggage that he brought along with him.

Honestly ya, especially if they show Endorsi liking Bam out of nowhere, it will feel forced. They shouldn’t have cut out the scenes of them from the webtoon. As like you said it continues to develop through arcs.
Apparently they wanted to skip part 1 all together(if you read the interviews you’ll see). I kind of get it. I personally love season 1 but even I admit there were only a select amount of things that stayed prevalent in the series from part 1

There's some info that they cut from the webtoon like the reason the rest of the team can pass the test was because when Bam was talking to the administrator about the test he asked that if he were to die, the rest of the team pass regardless of the test's outcome

Rachel is not an irregular, she basically entered the tower when it was calling for Bam, then Bam forced the doors open to follow her. An Irregular has to have opened the doors of the Tower on their own, which Rachel didn't. She took someone else's ticket.
an irregular is anyone from outside the tower, Bam and Rachel are irregulars. Not every irregular seems to have the ability to enter without headon appearing before them and granting them access. Its seems like the irregulars who did enter the tower were all incredibly powerful but Rachel did not enter herself she slipped in when Bam was meant to enter the first time.

Alumik (Princess Repellista's guide) said to Evan the tower only opens its doors to the people it needs, be it chaos, peace, or change. So even though they're irregulars, yes rachel is an irregular, they're still chosen by the tower. And Headon was lying and was setting up Rachel when he told her she wasnt the one he was expecting. Also, SIU has confirmed long time ago that Rachel is an irregular.
Do you really think that is an excuse for the tower to make such a silly mistake? My thoughts about it are, Headon deceived Rachel telling her she was not chosen so that she were under his control, and the Tower didn't make any mistake, the Tower needed Rachel so that Bam could have a reason to enter and climb the tower.
The tower wouldn't make such a mistake. The way they presented in the anime is that the door opened for Rachel, closed, and then opened for Bam. Headon made a deal with Rachel for her to climb even though she's "not chosen", which a guardian of the tower shouldn't do in the first place. Bam climbed to find Rachel and Rachel climbed to take Bam's place as the chosen one. Their stories are both closely intertwined and I'm pretty sure it's all part of a big plan.

This episode answered nearly every single question I had, crazy how it all connected. So many mind blowing things happened. But Bam is going to have what I assume is a training arc and come back to be unstoppable and it's the blessing he deserves. He's just someone who wanted to give meaning to his life with other people and everyone except his true friends are trying to kill him for their own selfish reasons (the staff of the tower don't like Irregulars and Rachel is just jealous of Bam). I can't wait for Bam to come back and show them all who's king. Rachel is gonna enjoy life for a bit, but the past is going to come back and haunt her, crazy how the Black March already knew though. And was that Bam at the end? If so, then I'm so damn hype for season 2. Also wanted to say I enjoyed watching your reactions after each episode because you guys analyze a lot.

Rachel came in to the tower because the Tower was calling to Bam, but it just happens she was there with him atm, so she came in.
THING THE ANIME CUT/ADDED/MODIFIED FROM THE MANHWA (NO SPOILERS) 1. Headon denied Rachel entry saying "You already know how ugly, nasty and bad person you are". Rachel says nothing. 2. Headon then says that the one the tower chose has arrived. There was absolutely no mention of the word "savior". No talks of Bam being Rachel's savior. 3. As she watches Bam trying to take the test, Rachel shouts "don't go Bam" probably because she didn't want Bam to do what she was too much of a pussy to do. 4. After Bam goes up the floor, Rachel goes full Karen saying how its not fair that Bam got help from Yuri. Headon shuts her up saying that's not the point. Point is that he tried while Rachel was too scared.Basically the anime whitewashed that side of her. She's a total bitch here. 5. Headon DID NOT ask Rachel to kill Bam. All he did was strike a deal with her to let her go up the tower. We don't know what kind of deal it was. 6. The conversation between the red haired girl and Rachel did not happen in the webtoon. Instead she talked to the test administrator who told her that he would take everything from Bam. 7. All that stuff about Rachel not wanting to hurt Bam? Yeah that never happened. They really tried to make her less of a bitch in the anime. 8. She never once considers climbing the tower with Bam. Its all anime only filler. 9. Only Rak and a few other characters were waiting at the spot where Bam was supposed to come out. Not fucking everyone. 10. Rachel lies that they were attacked by the bull and Bam fell trying to fight him. 11. Red Haired girl visits Rachel's room and congratulates her on becoming the "Heroine of the story" 12. The regulars have a meeting after the test. Rak, Anaak and Endorsi refuse to attend. Paracule is being an asshole and asking everyone if they passed the test. This pisses Hatz off and they have a minor fight. 13. It is revealed that everyone passed because Bam made a deal with the administrator to pass everyone if he dies during the test. 14. No one was crying when Lero ro announced that Bam was dead. The anime really exaggerated the emotion in that scene. 15. Lero ro didnt have a verbal conflict with Hansung. He just barges in and says he's resigning. Quant asks hansung to keep him but hansung tells him to fuck off too since him and lero ro are a pair like "Hamburger and Soda" 16. It was Hatz that suggested they should take rachel up the tower. Khun was clearly disturbed by Bam's death but wasn't too keen on the idea. 17. The guy in the white t shirt was eaten by the bull. So was the half bald guy. In place of them, Hong,the sword guy Endorsi fought in the hide and seek test, survives. Funny thing is, he is actually related to a secondary character that appears in season 2. Its a hint at a future arc but the anime wont be able to do that now. 18. Rachel laughing in her room is a modified scene from season 2 of the manhwa. 19. Lero Ro says he's going to the 77th floor. Quant says he's crazy because that area is forbidden. 20. Hansung says "The Jahad family will believe that Bam is dead". No mention of Jahad princesses here. 21. The conversation between Rachel and Khun near the end of the episode never happened. 22. Hansung gives all the regulars a ring as a gift for passing the graduation. 23. Completely skipped over the red haired girl's introduction. She's a guide who has been blessed by the tower. They know all the paths inside the tower and can even predict and change the future. 24. Messed up Bam's suffering at the end. Made it too wordy. 25. "Welcome to tower of god"? Could they have a cheesier line? The final lines of the season 1 were Hwaryun's monologue " Yes, the boy will make his way up the tower. As promised, what he wants. What we all want, is waiting up there." FIN SEASON 1.
So glad you guys enjoyed ToG! While the adaptation wasn’t perfect, it definitely was good enough to peak interest in new viewers! I can’t wait to see how they’ll do with S2! The first part of S2 is probably my favorite part of the whole webtoon

The Tower of God seems more like a Tower where you suffer and fight to become strong enough to get whatever you want, rather than having it given to you.
I think it could be more than that but You got a point. I like to observe BAM.. he is so puré.. yet that is what might be making him so strong.. he doesnt even want to climb himself, but for others..

Having read the webtoon, I must say this was the best episode of the series. Most of the episodes had unsteady pacing and awkward transitions from one scene to the next. But this ep was just smooth af with the voice acting, pacing, music, not to mention the repeated monologue at the end. They did change a few things from the original, but i didnt really care because of how well the execution was. And it's not like there was a drastic increase in the budget for animation, it was really just great direction. I just hope s2 keeps this quality (or even better) when it comes out.

If Headon doesn't choose you, you're an Irregular, doesn't really matters how you get in. But there is a belief that the tower brings new people when it thinks things need to change, that's why people say Irregulars are "chosen by the tower".

Irregular does mean from the outside. Every resident in the middle area and outer area can be chosen by Headon to climb the tower, but the Tower's doors can be opened by people *from the outside*. Those are the irregulars.

I am a manhwa reader, and while I was a little disappointed with the pacing and the series so far but damn this episode single handedly changed my whole opinion. It was spectacular and we get a better look into Rachel than in the manhwa.

Something the anime doesn’t really show is that Lero Ro and Quant are friends that have been together for a while. Quant being “fired” was basically Lero Ro knowing that Quant would follow him anyways.
There’s 14 irregulars in the tower , 10 family heads , King Jahad , Urek Mazino , Bam and Rachel. This season was just the prologue for the climb up the tower ( this all happened on the training floor ) . The real climb begins now and if we get season it’s gonna take 100 + episodes to cover it . To add to this to make things a bit clearer for others (non-spoiler) - Rachel trying to leave Bam and saying she was going to the tower, made Bam want to enter the tower as well, which made him subconsciously open the doors to the tower (probably). And yes, Rachel technically counts as Bam's luggage that he brought along with him.

For those that don't know; Bam means "night" in Korean and Rachel explains how she's afraid of the night->Bam in the webtoon. I'm sad they didn't say that line in the anime, especially since they even translated Bam into yoru which is night in japanese :/

Also you have to acknowledge how great the character of Rachel is written with the way she evokes extreme emotions in every viewer.

Rachel is not an irregular, she basically entered the tower when it was calling for Bam, then Bam forced the doors open to follow her. An Irregular has to have opened the doors of the Tower on their own, which Rachel didn't. She took someone else's ticket.

Alumik (Princess Repellista's guide) said to Evan the tower only opens its doors to the people it needs, be it chaos, peace, or change. So even though they're irregulars, yes rachel is an irregular, they're still chosen by the tower. And Headon was lying and was setting up Rachel when he told her she wasnt the one he was expecting. Also, SIU has confirmed long time ago that Rachel is an irregular.

My thoughts about it are, Headon deceived Rachel telling her she was not chosen so that she were under his control, and the Tower didn't make any mistake, the Tower needed Rachel so that Bam could have a reason to enter and climb the tower.

The tower wouldn't make such a mistake. The way they presented in the anime is that the door opened for Rachel, closed, and then opened for Bam. Headon made a deal with Rachel for her to climb even though she's "not chosen", which a guardian of the tower shouldn't do in the first place. Bam climbed to find Rachel and Rachel climbed to take Bam's place as the chosen one. Their stories are both closely intertwined and I'm pretty sure it's all part of a big plan.

This episode answered nearly every single question I had, crazy how it all connected. So many mind blowing things happened. But Bam is going to have what I assume is a training arc and come back to be unstoppable and it's the blessing he deserves. He's just someone who wanted to give meaning to his life with other people and everyone except his true friends are trying to kill him for their own selfish reasons (the staff of the tower don't like Irregulars and Rachel is just jealous of Bam). I can't wait for Bam to come back and show them all who's king. Rachel is gonna enjoy life for a bit, but the past is going to come back and haunt her, crazy how the Black March already knew though. And was that Bam at the end? If so, then I'm so damn hype for season 2. Also wanted to say I enjoyed watching your reactions after each episode because you guys analyze a lot.

A tip: Irregulars open the doors themselves, but another way of saying it is that they were chosen by the Tower itself. While Regulars are chosen by Headon. Rachel came in to the tower because the Tower was calling to Bam, but it just happens she was there with him atm, so she came in.

THING THE ANIME CUT/ADDED/MODIFIED FROM THE MANHWA (NO SPOILERS)
1. Headon denied Rachel entry saying "You already know how ugly, nasty and bad person you are". Rachel says nothing.
2. Headon then says that the one the tower chose has arrived. There was absolutely no mention of the word "savior". No talks of Bam being Rachel's savior.
3. As she watches Bam trying to take the test, Rachel shouts "don't go Bam" probably because she didn't want Bam to do what she was too much of a pussy to do.
4. After Bam goes up the floor, Rachel goes full Karen saying how its not fair that Bam got help from Yuri. Headon shuts her up saying that's not the point. Point is that he tried while Rachel was too scared.Basically the anime whitewashed that side of her. She's a total bitch here.
5. Headon DID NOT ask Rachel to kill Bam. All he did was strike a deal with her to let her go up the tower. We don't know what kind of deal it was.
6. The conversation between the red haired girl and Rachel did not happen in the webtoon. Instead she talked to the test administrator who told her that he would take everything from Bam.
7. All that stuff about Rachel not wanting to hurt Bam? Yeah that never happened. They really tried to make her less of a bitch in the anime.
8. She never once considers climbing the tower with Bam. Its all anime only filler.
9. Only Rak and a few other characters were waiting at the spot where Bam was supposed to come out. Not fucking everyone.
10. Rachel lies that they were attacked by the bull and Bam fell trying to fight him.
11. Red Haired girl visits Rachel's room and congratulates her on becoming the "Heroine of the story"
12. The regulars have a meeting after the test. Rak, Anaak and Endorsi refuse to attend. Paracule is being an asshole and asking everyone if they passed the test. This pisses Hatz off and they have a minor fight.
13. It is revealed that everyone passed because Bam made a deal with the administrator to pass everyone if he dies during the test.
14. No one was crying when Lero ro announced that Bam was dead. The anime really exaggerated the emotion in that scene.
15. Lero ro didnt have a verbal conflict with Hansung. He just barges in and says he's resigning. Quant asks hansung to keep him but hansung tells him to fuck off too since him and lero ro are a pair like "Hamburger and Soda"
16. It was Hatz that suggested they should take rachel up the tower. Khun was clearly disturbed by Bam's death but wasn't too keen on the idea.
17. The guy in the white t shirt was eaten by the bull. So was the half bald guy. In place of them, Hong,the sword guy Endorsi fought in the hide and seek test, survives. Funny thing is, he is actually related to a secondary character that appears in season 2. Its a hint at a future arc but the anime wont be able to do that now.
18. Rachel laughing in her room is a modified scene from season 2 of the manhwa.
19. Lero Ro says he's going to the 77th floor. Quant says he's crazy because that area is forbidden.
20. Hansung says "The Jahad family will believe that Bam is dead". No mention of Jahad princesses here.
21. The conversation between Rachel and Khun near the end of the episode never happened.
22. Hansung gives all the regulars a ring as a gift for passing the graduation.
23. Completely skipped over the red haired girl's introduction. She's a guide who has been blessed by the tower. They know all the paths inside the tower and can even predict and change the future.
24. Messed up Bam's suffering at the end. Made it too wordy.
25. "Welcome to tower of god"? Could they have a cheesier line?
The final lines of the season 1 were Hwaryun's monologue " Yes, the boy will make his way up the tower. As promised, what he wants. What we all want, is waiting up there."

Having read the webtoon, I must say this was the best episode of the series. Most of the episodes had unsteady pacing and awkward transitions from one scene to the next. But this ep was just smooth af with the voice acting, pacing, music, not to mention the repeated monologue at the end. They did change a few things from the original, but i didnt really care because of how well the execution was. And it's not like there was a drastic increase in the budget for animation, it was really just great direction. I just hope s2 keeps this quality (or even better) when it comes out.

Irregular does mean from the outside. Every resident in the middle area and outer area can be chosen by Headon to climb the tower, but the Tower's doors can be opened by people *from the outside*. Those are the irregulars.

I am a manhwa reader, and while I was a little disappointed with the pacing and the series so far but damn this episode single handedly changed my whole opinion. It was spectacular and we get a better look into Rachel than in the manhwa.

Season 2 is a roller coaster man, everything changes...it is darker and with more lore than ever. I would directly go to the webtoon if I were you.
Something the anime doesn’t really show is that Lero Ro and Quant are friends that have been together for a while. Quant being “fired” was basically Lero Ro knowing that Quant would follow him anyways.

There’s 14 irregulars in the tower , 10 family heads , King Jahad , Urek Mazino , Bam and Rachel. This season was just the prologue for the climb up the tower ( this all happened on the training floor ) . The real climb begins now and if we get season it’s gonna take 100 + episodes to cover it . The scenes of rachel feeling bad never happened in the manhwa.
The flashbacks were also shown way after the floor of Test, it was after the workshop or after Hell Train I think.
They absolutely did this beautifully. Y'all are in for a treat come season 2. I recommend if you need any clarification for season 1 to read season 1 of the webtoon, it should help with any confusion and clarification.

This epilogue is the chapter where the switch from Season I to Season II occurs. It’s also the chapter where Rachel and Bam’s destiny gets separated. Now Rachel’s reason for pushing Bam will appear soon.
This chapter would be better when you compare it to Chapter 1 as you read. You may notice something like Rachel’s eyes in Chapter 1…
If Bam is a "typical heroic person" Rachel would be a "typical normal person" In Season 1 Bam thinks he is following behind Rachel, but in reality she does not get far and gets caught up by him. And becomes put behind. I think most people are like this.
So I wanted to make somewhat an awkward situation where people would be angry at Rachel yet feel more related to Rachel than Bam.
After reading season 1, many have asked why does this comic look So Shonen…..What about Shonen.
Is there something wrong about this comic being Shonen? Well…Bam being ‘Shonen main character’ in Headon’s floor is intended to some degree.
Because Rachel is someone who cannot be so… I wanted to put them in contrast by showing Rachel watching Bam in Epilogue. Hm.. I am not sure whether I really succeeded or not.

Rachel and Baam’s relation is more complex then what is shown. That will be told as story goes on. But it is true my skills are not enough to make such emotional scene. It was hard.
