How does this L1 sound with a non powered effects mixer - say the Mackie ProFX8 or Behringer 1204fx? The mixer can be hooked up thru either channel 1 or 2? Thanks -
For bands, I would recommend 2 of the L1 systems. My 5 piece classic rock band purchased 2 a couple months ago and now after a few gigs we are extremely happy with them. Set up time is now 30min or less and we don't have to haul a trailer full of gear anymore! and as he states in this video, the sound level does not drop of AT ALL like traditional speakers..and the sound is the SAME no matter where you are in the room. Now we all are wondering why we didn't do this years ago :)
Got a young girl who sings with a guitar....she's gonna be using one of these systems at her school....My question is, what would the speaker placement look like in a situation like that? Should it be "behind" her? Would that cause feedback issues? I'm just trying to help her dad get this sorted out before she sings. Thanks

I am very interested in BOSE L1 systems. I heard them and they sound fantastic!! I am going to buy one of that systems, but i dont know which is better - model 1 or model 2? I saw that model 1 is much more cheaper than model 2, but i dont know if there is any difference in sound quality. I want to use two BOSE L1 double bass packages together with Behringer Eurodesk mixer, because i need good PA system for my band, school partyes and things like that. I think that BOSE L1 is the best choice.
Huzzah for you! I too switched over to the Bose L1 system and now have 2 bose L1's and 1 Model 2 (5 B1's total) for my DJ Biz! I love the sound, but I really have trouble filling a space with 300 people jammed in it practically wall to wall like at a big wedding. I bring 2 L1's and 4 B1's and yet with all those bodies, I just can't seem to get it to the back of the room without risking distortion and clipping. My question to you sir: Do you plug your music into your system using a Mixer?
Hi. I'm a solo musician. I play my guitar thru a Roland GR-55 and a looper station. For vocals I use the DigiTech Vocalist live 5 and that's about it. I mainly play in churches for up to 1,500 - 2,000 people. Do you think this would do the job for me? Thanks

@jnparesa I don't use the tone match T1. This is mostly because of it's lack of inputs/outputs. I think depending on what you need it for, it might be a great option.
I'd say if you think you need more bass get an other B1... the T1 will not increase you bass. Depending on what you are doing you may want to also look into a StudioLive Presonus mixer. I just got the 24.4.2 & I think it sounds way better than my Yamaha MG32. I will be doing a product review very soon on it.
@RedEyeC It should sound great, except you might want to either use a pad to lower the signal out of your mixer by 20db or you could use channel 3 or 4. Channel one & two don't like HOT signals, they were originally made for Mics. That being said I use channel one, but I have a -10 attenuation switch on the back of my mixer (Denon X500) & I've always got it on. Band mixers usual have even a hotter signal than DJ mixers hence the -20 pad.
My 3 piece blues/rock and just about every other kind of music band uses a SINGLE L1 COMPACT for our stage monitor system. Best monitor system ever made! We use it as front of house in small places where we dont mic everything and only run vocals through it. Its AMAZING! Havent found a place yet that the vocals wont fill the room when used front of house in small venues. In large venues used as a stage monitor system its just as I said, the BEST you can ever get. If the L1 Model 2 works as well with a mic'd full band then you cant beat it. As long as it'll fill the venue and if there's enough sub. I've never used the L1 model 2 so I dont know but the compact is astounding!

( physical size of resistors condencers etc ) or is it a diffrent set up. There is very little info anywere, I really just want to find someone in the UK who can do a good job of fixing it. Not getting the three bears, and wrong info, any info would be really helpfull thank you. JT.
I"ve been a loyal Bose user for 5 years until I heard the HK Elements system. I bought it the moment I heard it, did 2 weeks of gigs with it and it BLEW MY MIND. No disrespect to Bose and what they've accomplished, but the HK Elements system blows Bose out of the water and leaves them in the dust. I'm beyond happy with the HK Elements system and my Bose is going on my Ebay.
@arc1e yes, but you may need to lower the strength on th signal by putting an in line -20db pad & for you second queston... yes a single L1 can handle 200-300 people, but personally I always like using two in stereo for a crowd that size.
@gofortheheart I'd say put it about 5 feet behind her & four feet to the right or left. Depending on the mic it may feedback, If the mic is unidirectional then you will be better off.
On one of mi L1's, it is starting to pop and shut down. Look at the lights on back and they are orange. I turn it off then back on and it pays for a while, then does it again. I'm out if warranty, any suggestions?

I own the Bose L1 Compact System,..and I must say,..this is the best explanatory review of the full size L1 I've seen . I've squirmed uncomfortably when watching enthusiastic Bose L1 / L1 Compact system owners singing the praises of the superb sound quality of these systems when filming their video . They ALL sound crapawful ! This is 'cos these small microphones in the camcorder are not capable of picking up the true sound .They are GREAT ! ! Check out the You Tube vid by CapCapello .NICE !

Gerry Larkin Run a -20db Attenuation XLR Pad on the end of the cable from your mixer and plug into channel 1. Sounds to me like you signal from your mixer is too HOT. This will cool it down allowing for more output before peaking.... BTW this tip works only if you are running a Model 1. THX ~DJ JD~
DJJDBass Thanks for the info but I run my mixer into channels 1 + 2 so will I need a Attenuation on both? Also what are your levels on the Bose compared to your levels on the external mixer? Mines are between 1+2 on the Bose as they then start to peak and I run my mixer at full tilt? I have tried every which way but loose to get the best sound but it doesnt seem to matter, the output isnt as good as it should be as the guitar and backing seems to be killing the vocals. Thanks for that demo. What I really need to hear is a guitar plugged into it playing along with CD backing tracks. I play jazz and blues guitar with rhythm backing tracks and that's what I really need to hear - the mix, the tonal quality, the volume etc etc. Thank you.

@ega0117 first off the pose base is smaller on the Model II & weighs less, next the Model II has only a single 1/4" input where as the Model I has four - two XLR & two 1/4" (the Model two was mostly designed to be used with the T1 Tonematch Engine). Last major difference is the drivers in the tower of the Model two are mounted in different directions, where as the Model I's speakers are all facing forward. The main difference here is the Model II achieve 180 degrees of coverage - Mod. I - 160
This has happened to me before, use unbalanced 1/4 to channel 1 or 2 input when using it for prerecorded music otherwise it will shut off automatically when the volume is above certain level if you use balanced xlr cable or balanced 1/4 cable this is because of the dBu.

I had to let them go cause they seem too fragile, and did not had the power I was looking for, other than that sound is gread
