- In this video we will be reviewing the @HDInnovationsCo shuttle. we will also be reviewing the carbon ice pole from HDI. I will walk you through installing the Garmin 106sv and the LVS34.
Thanks for the review and good job on the assembly. Just a few things to note. As shown in my assembly video, the battery is inserted with the terminals facing forward. The bottom of the battery is the size of the CNC pocket in the back of the shuttle. This allows you to have more length to your wires to the wiring harness. In regards to the thumb screw for the LVS 34, we replace the shoulder bolts that were originally used with the lvs32, active Target one and two, and megalive with adjustable thumb screws. The shoulder bolts have shown to loosen up while the user is on the ice and generally they do not have an allen wrench to tighten it back up. We like to reduce the amount of possibility of problems for the end user while they're on the ice. The lvs34 comes stock with that system already in place. The M8 thumb screw that Garmin provides is adequate for the use and we do not feel the need to replace it. Most users are upgrading from one transducer to the next or from one brand to the next, this is why we include all the different connection parts for all the different transducers. We do not feel that the customer should have to buy more parts if they change transducer models. You are definitely correct, those billet aluminum thumb screws are not cheap to produce... That's why the one Garmin gives you is plastic lol. All the injection molded components are glass-filled nylon which are the same materials Scotty and Ram used for their rod holders and other parts. The shuttle material is Marine grade UV treated HDPE which is the same material you will find in much of the Marine industry as well as the ice industry, ATV plows, go- car track guardrails. These screws provided for the screen mounting are the length that they are because the echomap plastic bail is four times the thickness of the metal bail that you have on your screen. I look forward to seeing your other reviews and if you have any questions at all prior to the review, please feel free to reach out to me. As you know, my cell number as well as email is right in the contact us page of the website. I apologize after if there are any typos in this message as I am driving home from the Sioux Falls Dakota anglers show currently.
No problem! I appreciate the thought out response. I’m really happy with the shuttle and look forward to getting out on the ice with it. I also ordered the shuttle bag and will be doing a review video of that as well. Again great product!!
@therapawayhomestead5464 Great to hear, I'm filming the bag installation video tomorrow.
Totally agree with you about the knobs for the transducer.... Hopefully he watches your video. I think he'd agree with you 😉
Subbed and liked!
Thank you for this vid! It helped me put my 126sv together!
Thank you! Glad I could help!
Great review. Really enjoyed your review!
Thank you!
Awesome and thoughtful review!
Great video man. Can I ask a dumb question? Im new to Livescope, and have the same HD shuttle. I was wondering, what will the battery voltage readout show when the battery needs charged, and what will it show when it is fully charged? Thanks!
With the battery I chose it will read out 16.7 volts when fully charged. I’m honestly not sure yet what it will read when it will no longer power the Garmin. However I have had mine down to 12.1 with no problems.
@@RapawayOutdoors Appreciate it man, thank you
Just put my pole together exactly the same as you did with a 34 ducer , but it doesn’t line up perfectly with the handle if that makes sense? How does one adjust it so it’s nice and straight and in line with the handle?
I'm pretty upset about the knob deal. First to buy it at my Scheels store with same set up. Wish I could return the knobs I don't use for a 34. THANKS for Review!
Thank you for watching!
Can you put the links to everything in the bio? There are so many different packages to everything. Awesome video I’m looking to do the same
Thank you for watching! I’ll try get all of the links put in tomorrow.
@@RapawayOutdoors no rush, I just like what your doing here keep it up!
What unit did you get from Garmin?.
I was going to get the one with the transducer also but they said that's the older unit... I got the unit with out the transducer for the boat because I have one.
Thank you for watching!
It is the 106sv head unit with the Lvs 34 transducer.
@therapawayhomestead5464 I looked at that one and I ended up getting the echomap ult2 106 sv/gn locator.
Well, my Garmin didn't come with a screensaver on it but it was wrapped in plastic.... Did you get a 12 pin that you didn't use that came with the transducer in the black box.. didn't see anybody that 12 pin hooking up... Must be for some other application.
That’s correct. You will not need all of the cables depending on what kit you purchased
Putting my shuttle together and I see where that glass fuse is. What are the blue and brown wires for do you know?
I’m not sure. I would have to open the shuttle up and check
Okay, I didn't hook them up and I didn't see any other instructions about hooking them up.
@@patrickethier6190 The extra wires are for NMEA. Almost everyone doesn’t use them. NMEA is more for salt water guys that use extra features.
@Hookedonfishingforlife this is correct!
Will the shuttle accommodate a 24" monitor?
I’m not sure lol.
Dimensions on just the shuttle height ?
What dimensions would you like?
38:45 Those units don’t work as well if you let the smoke out of them. 😅
Haha that’s for sure!!
You need to power that "UV Glow" light. I guess it's UV so you can see all the stains on the bed in the hotel you stay in.
Well it definitely if bright!
In the video he laid the battery on the side so when you open the door the negative and positive are right there if you want to unplug it and leave the battery in there... Probably doesn't matter.
I did realize that after the fact. I plan to leave it for now but I’ll flip it if I ever have to disconnect it or have problems
@therapawayhomestead5464 when you cut those screws off that are too long. Are you still going to be able to take the nuts off if you want or would the threads be screwed up?... Cuz I know I'd cut off those bolts too.
Yes I plan to when I know for sure it’s where I want it. The threads will definitely not work as great afterwards
That's BS about the LS34 knob. The most popular forward facing sonar and its going to cost you more if you want the knob. The box is already overpriced.
What a stupid comment, Jason goes out of his way to take care of his customers and makes a great product at a fair price. You cracked the code, his master plan is to make a Fortune off the LVS 34 knob.
Where u live I can make u one out out aluminum....
Thank you but so far I’m very happy with this one!
Pretty much weighs as much as a bag of dog food!
So you just copied summit in a round about way!!!! 😂🤣
I did not. I have no affiliation with HDI
