I don't care what country a Matine is from. A Marine is a Marine. I wouldn't want any trouble from any of them! Much respect for all of the Marines worldwide!
No. Marines are Marines, they’re similar in name, but they’re held in different regard in each country. A US Marine is regular infantry, with 11 weeks of basic training. A Royal Marine is elite infantry with 32 weeks of training. They’re not the same in terms of level of eliteness.
Royal Marines now make up 43% of UKSF SAS/SBS. So hardly surprising, and their mountain leader course is "allegedly" more difficult than SAS/SBS Selection, according to ex SBS operator Simon Jeffries. He's done a video on here
Sondre Calmeyer Yet we never see them mentioned in list like these....neither comes the Norwegian naval history anywhere near the Dutch, so i doubt it, although i'm sure they're very good in what they do aswell.
Well Done! As a US Marine I got to hang out with those Royal Marines and I was impressed. Great to see all my Marine Brothers we all are the best of the best! The Elite Warriors! Semper Fi from Sgt Big Jim USMC 55-59
some truly awesome videos on here of the two regs training together, even paras and airborne. you yanks never have a bad word to say ,apart from the mock battle exercise with the gurkahs, witch totally understandable ha certainly glad the two forces learn from each other, experience is everything
Right the RM are bad ass. Id Say they are about as equal as a Force Recon US Marine though. But not just a small unit of Recon guys, a whole CORPS of recon guys and thats what makes the RM >>> average US Marines ( who arent Recon or Marsoc).
@@xxCOKERxxPWNxx they are not as equal as force reconstruction though rmc have there own force recon unit within there. Explain how marine raiders and Marsoc are equal. P.S I'm a massive troll
@@xxCOKERxxPWNxx there’s no difference between a Recon Marine or a MARSOC Marine other than the name, being Recon doesn’t make you a hero it’s just a job that you are highly qualified to do anyone can make special forces with the right mindset
@@xxCOKERxxPWNxx You have to remember that the Royal Marines are commandos. They are an elite amphibious force, well regarded as the finest in the world. The USMC is not to be discredited but they are not the same. The US marines are recruited large and wide and are not trained to the same standard. Britain has always had to out-train and out-think its opponents as historically they’ve always been outnumbered. That is why British intelligence and training has always been in a class of its own when compared to the rest of the world. A former Russian directorate said in an interview once about the British: “Britain has always had the best light infantry in the world, and the bastards get places faster than we would like”. He also went on to say: “many have armies but no soldiers, while the British have always had soldiers”. You have to remember that America is only a baby country, whose mother is of course the UK, so Americans should be just as proud of UK accomplishments as Brits, because many of you from the 13 former US colonies are British descendants. When you consider the fact that Britain is the most experienced country historically when it comes to war, having fought the most wars, arguably winning all of them (Britain chose to withdraw from the revolutionary war, they had no purpose for the US and were fighting napoleon at the time. They were never depleted and never sought further investment into the conflict. It wasn’t a “defeat” as the term implies). Many of those wars have been fought alone with no allied support. When you consider all of Britain’s history, being heavily influenced by the Roman colonisation of Britain and their methods of war and conquering, it’s not really surprising that they would be world leaders in areas of military, engineering, science, aviation and as an island seafaring nation, maritime warfare too 🙂
USMC - at bootcamp, all recruits are required to run 1.5 miles in under 13.30 before continuing with training Royal Marines - all 'potential' recruits are required to run 1.5 miles in under 10.30 on a treadmill. This is in the careers office before they even finish filling all the forms in. Need I say more?
It IS a gauge. It suggests they have greater fitness levels. It suggests they are less likely to capitulate under extreme heat, pressure, mental and physical exertion. It suggests they have a built in attitude of "one more step, and if i can manage that...I'll take another one"
Dave Roberts not true, take it from a soldier, the level of training you have is reflected on how you practice your drills, how often and to what quality, anyone can run 10k you don't need to be trained for that.
What bollocks. Serving soldier?? Practice your drills? Try doing that after being deprived of sleep for 72 hours, then taken on a 9 mile speed march, then ordered to clean every piece of kit until its sparkling. Then being told its shit, have all your rig thrown out into the mud and told to start all over again. The idea is to induce stress, fatigue. Because when Terry Taliban attacks he wont wait until you've had 8 hrs kip. He wont think "oh they've just come back off an 6 hour patrol and then done stag for hours"...Its as close as the training team can get to battle conditions. The very fact you dont link excellent physical fitness to bang on drills gives you away. A mile and a half in 10.30 is a hard run. The test is there to ensure applicants have been taking training seriously. Mildly fit would fall flat on their arses. Mildly fit need not apply, along with the other 99.9% Mildly fit can choose the US Marines and have an extra three minutes to do the run.
U.S. Marines, are not soldiers !!! If you don't know that you were never a U.S. MARINE !!! The U.S MARINES, are better just look at all the major battles we fought and in many countries they have built monuments to honor us !!!!! What countries have built monuments for the royal marines ? That's how you know who is really badass !!!!!!! Look me up on Marines.togetherweserve.com And I was just an average Marine !
actually I'm angry because mine didn't even got in the list… Shayetet 13, israeli navy commando. obviously who ever made this list never studied modern warfare.
im not m8 im portuguese, the only thing that i complain about is the mistake on the number, we have more lots of more "Fuzileiros" than he says besides we have the biggest army reserve on europe
As a ''cloggie'' (Dutch old Marine) I have to agree on this sequence. The Brits are our best fellow Marines. The other elite troops I learned to respect most in my days were the German Alpine Hunters and the French Foreign Legion paratroopers. No disrespect of course towards other Marines like the US. Just didn't encounter you guys that often.
IMO the top three is absolutely spot on and the Royal Marines have pushed the bar even higher with the new FCF (future commando force), better equipped and more highly trained than ever.
@@jorritvanderkooi939 como que no, fue la primera tropa de desembarco ,infantería de marina . Actuaron en todo el mundo ,por supuesto en Europa -- of course, it was the first landing troop, marine infantry. They performed throughout the world, of course in Europe
Tripp Shot. Yes absolutely correct. The Operations against the molukkian Terrorist in the 70s, hostages in Trains, Schools etc., was very difficult. But very sucessfull. The absolutely same ( or higher ) Niveau than the german GSG 9 Operation at october 1977 in Mogadischu/ Somalia. For freeing the Lufthansa Jet " Landshut".
The Spanish (1537), the Dutch (officially 1665) and Brits (officially 1755) have the longest history. They have been fighting each other since mid 1600's. They got so tired of that they finally decided to partner up.
+roro zooc La Infanteria de Marina mas antigua del mundo es la de España , la fecha del video es exacta. Desde entonces ha combatido en los 5 continentes
Fun fact the Spanish Marines where the first to do an amphibious landing involving the use of tanks and massive seaborne air support in 1925. The Alhucemas landing.
It is also the oldest unit in the world with this task, at the beginning of XVI century before Lepanto Battle against Ottoman empíre The unit still has the same name: "tercio de Armada"
The Netherlands marine Force is extremely underrated outside of the military community. Not to mention the royals close bond with them, Goes back to Gibraltar.
ok, the USMC rely on strength in numbers and fire power, it. the RMC's rely of the most intense and toughest basic training course in the world that equal them to us navy seal lv 4 training, they then specialize in warfare in every type of terrain, followed on by that you have FPGRM (Fleet Protection Group Royal Marines) from this the very best can apply to join the SBS (Special Boat Squadron) who are so secretive they have never been filmed
You've been reading too many comic books...and what purpose does it take to strap to the skids of an assault helicopter??? You might try going in on a twin engine HUEY or a Blackhawk or the skids of a LOACH but most definitely not an Apache.
@@fourseasons2349 I think they read a newspaper article on the Royal Marines Commando that tied themselves up to apaches to save one of their own and lmao us marines are like drag queens
Lol people arguing about which marines corp is better I am from America and I agree that the Royal Marines are the best but at the end of the day we fight together
I cannot believe how much arguing I see over the US and UK Marine Corps. They are both hard as fuck branches of their militaries. While I do not know of the Royal Marine Corps', I know the United States' Marine Corps has an amazing track record.
I'm assuming you meant to say shit instead of shut, and the USMC is THE shit. In the time of failed amphibian assault, they lead the fucking way and took the entire pacific. They've fought hard enough to be called mythological creatures by their German enemies of WWI. You think the SEAL's were the first to conduct counter-piracy raids? The USMC has been doing it since the 1700's. So no, the USMC isn't shit. And you can say that the UK Marines have it harder and you would be lying. They get weekends off, wtf? The USMC has 12 weeks in basic versus the UK Marines' 40 and still get the most training because their's is constant. I, myself cannot fucking wait for my 12 weeks. Much respect for the Royal Marines, but they just aren't as battle hardened.
***** The Commandos have more combat experience than the USMC. That is just a fact. And anti-piracy has been going on ever since piracy has been going on. Don't get me wrong, I respect the USMC, they are tenacious as fuck. And the German high command gave out a special order after the commando raids at places like Saint Nazaire in WW2 to kill all commandos on capture because they were such a pain in their ass. But I hope the USMC/RMC rivalry and friendship continues, it makes both forces stronger.
Stal RG another thing that you forget is why the marines are called devil dogs and I believe it was Germany who was so afraid of marines that they posted posters up saying beware of the devil dog (marines)
About 10 years ago there was a television show where elite forces from all over the world were tested (this was an American television show), and a lot of countries were joining. The Dutch Marines left them all behind, Navy Seals, Marines, Spetznaz, Foreign Legion. We don't outrun them in numbers, but we did outrun all of them in quality. So for commando style operations there is only one marine corps that counts and that is The Marine Corps of the Royal Netherlands Navy.
Russian Marines thats true but the dutch are trained to fight even if it is one against ten so in small groups. the russians have pther tactics and are trianed to work in large groups.
No 1 Russian Naval Infantry 2. Denmark Marine Corps. 3 Republic of Korea Marine Detatchment 4. Royal Marine Commando (I'm on of these, Charlie Company 3 Troop) 5 USMC
I am very proud to be a Bootneck and to all the other forces that made the Top 10 in this video, no doubt had to dig in deep for their honour of being a Marine. Good effort lads!
I've wanted to be a bootneck since I was seven and I'm now 13. I'm really proud to say that I have the Royal Marines as one of my country's fighting forces.
bravo 1/8 2MEF 0341 veteran (96-00). I always felt that what set us apart was our combined arms scale. The MAGTF (marine air ground task force) in any size , meu, meb, or Mef , bring such a level of integration of arms under one commander. I think the fact that we have an air wing for every division that includes fixed wing attack aircraft including legacy f18c/d. m1a1 battalion for every division, 1 artillery regiment, 1 light armoured resonance battalion, 1 aav battalion, 1 small craft company, 1 anglico company, 1 recon battalion, and of course 3 infantry regiments per division. Plus a division size support group (fssg) per. That's why we're the best in my opinion.
39 weeks basic training to get in the Royal Marines. Those American Seals are only equivalent to Royal Marine Command, Seals wouldn't even be classed as SF in the UK.
How long does it take to train a Navy SEAL? Training of a Navy SEAL takes at least a year and a half from boot camp until the time he is ready to go to a SEAL Team. Once at a SEAL Team, he usually has an additional year or more of training prior to his first deployment. Even then, a SEAL's training is not complete he continues to hone and enhance his skills throughout his career Takin right from the navy seals website, bud/s is only the beginning of their trading, they train for 2-3 years after bud/s
I completed US Marine OCS and those color sergeants of the RM are the most motivating individuals I have ever had the pleasure to experience. Hope I run into them further in my career. I don't think one Marine Corps is better than the other. If you look at the individual history of each Marine Corps you'll understand why some have evolved into what they are and why they do certain things in certain ways. It's also important to look at the history of the nation that the Marines belong to as well. As elite forces within a nation (goes for all Marines around the world), each Marine Crops changes to meet their nations demands. Different nations usually have different demands for their Marine Corps.
I'm a US Marine, and I accept the fact that if this video is based on the Quality of each Marine Corps that is kinda correct. But fact is, The smaller a Marine Corps means that you have created quality Marines, take for example the Royal Marines.
Dirk Stafford Nah bro, I think you're very, smart enough that you noticed that I am a POG hahaha...anyways, I was with 2/3, went in open contract. I volunteered for a team called JUMP. half of the team was grunts the rest from all over the battalion. Attended Squad Leaders course in Hawaii, 2d fastest marine in our Battalion's Squad COMPs, MOUT training in Bellows Air Force base. MOUT, Combine Arms and urban warfare and in Mojavee Viper, SSE Certification in both Kaneohe Bay and Iraq. I have three deployments 2 to Iraq and 1 to AFG...lol
You Brits earn the top Marine Corps spot. My respects. I've worked with y'all many times. And each time I was impressed. After all, y'all are our cousins from across the pond right? That being said. we'll take you fuckers on in a game of drinking and drunken fights any time and place!
this whole video is most likely based on his bias preference like you said the royal marines would not be able to take on the USMC but they are tailed to different roles the USMC is a fighting force (not a army) that has the ability to engage with out the need for support from the other branches of the armed forces for example; the have their own armored corps (tanks and shit), close air support wing(jets and choppers) where as the royal marines act as a special forces group highly trained and deadly but they do not have ability to directly engage in combat on a grand scale eg; the assault and occupation of a city and/or region/province because the lack heavy equipment like tanks CAS(close air support) and the would have to be supported by the regular army and air force for said assets, this can be said about any marine force or corps when comparing them to one another.
I'm glad there are a lot of countries working together nowadays, instead of working against each other.......I'm Dutch and I know for sure we NEED other countries when the shit hits the fan ! But I'm also proud of our own army.
Cool fact about the Dutch marines; Micheal de Ruijter created a special team of sailors, they trained for one purpose only. Attacking the fleed of the UK.
Allan You just wasted your time writing your little book, USA is the best You just take Quantity or quality without America there wouldn't be anything we would still be fighting with crappy Muskets. America is basically the Father Of Military Technology if you actually look up Creators of Military Gear.
Allan Stop being such a bitch !!! I respect the british marines and royal marines and i think there really powerful! But the u.s marines are know for the marines not the army but the FUCK GOD DAMMN MARINES! Y HAVE THE BIG ASS HAT SOLDIERS GAURDING THE FUCKEN QUEEN WE GOT FUCKEN MARINES PROTECTING US WE HAVE THE RECON MARINES (ONE OF THE FUCKEN BEST SPECIAL FORCES IN THE WORLD) SO STOP BEING SUCH A BITCH! BITCH
@Joshua Chamberlain Your star spangled USMC are basically a little bit better than your fucking infantry mate 😂 the British chefs have better training.
@Joshua Chamberlain rmc are better. Everyone rm is a commando unlike the us so quality is there everywhere unlike the US. 1. Rmc 32week basic training then go to their commando group to get training. 80-85% of people fail trying to go to the rmc. 2.US has 13 week basic (not difficult) 96% pass. Your not commandos or elite. Furthermore, your cherry picking wich units you want to compare such as reconasance. This shows that US narines arnt better as you are neglecting must of them. 50% of marines faill going to reconasance. Rmc hace a recce group where 9/10 fail bear in mind 15-20% pass regular rmc. 3. Us marinee arnt even marines marines are naval infantry/troops wich the us marines arent. Plz reply i want to show up lol
@Joshua Chamberlain lmao you have no clue what your talking about and havny dis proved anything i said just insulted me cuz your triggered. 1. What your trying to do is compare a small part of the marines to general amount of rmc. 2. Recosnassance unit from what ive seen in a documentry a while 50% pass. You need to compare both reconasaance units of both marines "brah". 15-20% pass rmc selection/training. Out of thus percent who try out for our reconasance unit named recce 9/10 fail according to the royal navy. 3. RMC is eveivelent to recon is stupidist thing ive heard. 4. I made a tease saying they arnt even actual marines wich is true btw just a second army. As they are not part of your coast guard or navy. 5. It appears that you wont comment about the training length diffrence because youll get owned retard. 6. Your probably not going to respond after getting owned here or any other future comments i have with you. Hoe old r u btw😂😂
@Joshua Chamberlain ok only saw this over comment but lets go. 1. You state the after basic training marinea then go to infantry traing school. Firstly, this isnt long not long as rmc commando training after. After 32 week basic training rmc the remaing "15-20%" unlike the US marines go to there commando units to get further training to suite wich ever commando sqaudron they end up e.g. 40 commandos 45 42. We are talking about the bare minimun it takes to be a marine. Its funny how you tried to add the infantry school because your ashames of the 13 week basic training but at the rmc we arnt ashamed of our 32 week basic. 2.MFR doenst pick marine veterans lol its marines in service but i get what you were trying to make it all fancy and official. Look uo the word veteran . the cut is 50% and your exagreation of caps of "THE CUT" is dumb and trying to make the cut look deathly and dangerous lmao. As i have stated before 15% who become rmc the people trying out to become recce operators 9/10 fail selection. "THE CUT" is nothing compared to rmc. 4. Now for some reason you are trying to compare numbers. Firstly we are talking about quality whos better. The fact that you brought up numbers shows your losing this argument lol. 180, 000 marines vs RMCs 10, 000 wed have numbers like this if quality was as bad as yours with 96% pass ratw lol. And we are all comandos highly skilled than your marines and the fact you tries comparing only marine spec ops to the basic shows that you think regular marines that is mostly what the usmc is wont stand a chance against rmc. 5. The fact that you said we have tanks helicopters proves my point. USMC arnt marines they are just a cheap second army. Marines dont have acces to that because dundun we arnt the army we are naval troops. Wich is what a marine is lmao plz respond back to me retard with your age "brah"
I'm an American and my dads friends who are marines admitted that the Royal Marines are more elite. Marine Recon on the other hand is pretty much the same level as Royal Marines.
I worked for R.O.K Marine corps as a suprise recon staff surgent 33years ago and trained speclal recpn traning. Marine corps was a my best choice in my life.
I'm a Vietnam era Marine and I'm not insulted one bit that the UK is rated #1. There's really no intelligent way to say who's #1 .Training is the first criteria and I would agree 32weeks of boot camp gives you a bit more time polish your craft . I know what I know ... I don't know what I don't know ......'Thinking' your the best goes a long way when your trying to defeat an enemy in combat ......
@ Robert: we do infantry school, they don't, it is combined. However, I will say the Brits on average were smarter, I know thats weird, but we have some dumb asses that make it through boot.
The British military is the most experienced and prestigious force in the world... This is proven by the fact that many other countries forces are trained by British forces
@@hashslingingslasher9981 Rubbish. You ain't got a clue m8. From the moment you join a special forces unit......your Training is constant and never ending for your entire service. I've trained and served with many different SF units from many countries, certain aspects of training only differ slightly from country to country. Many countries admired the Regiment so much, that most wanted a special forces unit of their own, many American special forces units today took their inspiration from the regiment (British SAS) and styled themselves on us, and to this day the units still train and serve together from time to time, share/swap intel and training techniques. A very high respect is shown from both quarters. To this day, many countries top special forces units keep many things to themselves, ok, you might read some shit in a book, maybe a documentary, but I assure you, there is much that is NEVER made public, so in my opinion there is no such thing as a top/most trained unit in the world. The likes of you will never know the full extent of EACH countries special forces training to even say who exactly is the most well trained unit in the world, its a question that can never be answered'. Like I said before, our training NEVER ends. I always have said in the past, have respect for our friends, but more importantly, respect thy enemy...never under estimate any force/unit, if you do...your dead, don't matter how good or well trained you are.
Those of you who think Royal Marines getting strapped to the Apache was from a comic book, think again. I served with them in Afghan 2007 when they carried out this rescue mission. Then again, props to all those serving in the marines for their country👍
I am an american and I am not blind. I completely agree with the ending to this video. Pleasantly surprised in fact. "What is with these americans that blinds them so much? id say arrogance? USMC 40000 troops? Dude the Brits and Dutch have bin fighting allover the world with 8000 to 3000 troops. quickly and decisive and have Always played a major role of a conflict. Usmc is not even trained properly in amfibious warfare. Basic is a little bit harder than army with their 12 weeks of a guy screaming at you for no apparant reason what so ever.they are tough grunts yeah. Dutch and brits have over 30 weeks of hellish training.before a dutch or brit marine is fully trained 2 years have passed.your USMC is so big it sometimes larger than the entire defence capability of a country. So please think twice before saying the few the proud. Also usmc has WOMEN. In europe this is impossible. Not because we dont want them there. But because its to tough for them. USMC = tough grunts. Royal brittish and Dutch=Elite light infantry commando"
Adam Ashor dude Marines have been And always have been “light naval infantry” we were so good the Germans considered us equal if not better than their most elite units in WW1, brits were fighting them since 1914 we only got there in 1918 and kicked their asses harder than anyone else
I will agree that the Brits Marines are better than Americans...but that is only because the British Marines are their special force task units. American Marines are specially trained trained for Open Non-Sensitive Combat Operations....its a difference in definition. The USA have the S.E.A.L.S which are the most highly trained soldiers in the world.
the RMC aren't a special talk forces, they are the same classification as a USMC! ok lets keep the fact strait Special Air Service (SAS) = DELTA FORCE ------ BOTH AIR Special Boat Service (SBS) = NAVY S.E.A.L'S ------ BOTH SEA Sorry to burst any bubbles here, but the physical training for the 2 pairs are pretty much parallel! However once that's done, the Special Service are then taken to MI5/6 and taken into mental training to deal with counter terrorism/Espionage training! Basically an SBS fighter in the equivalent of; if a S.E.A.L and James Bond had a child! So S.E.A.L's aren't the most highly trained I'm afraid!
GunnySergeant Steph I think your marines are one of the most battle hardened units in the world. Perhaps less equipped than some western countries but great results.
Guys stop fighting over who is first yeah i am a american and yes i also thought us marine corp should have been first but it is just a video it is his opinion and in the end be thankful you even have a military.

Ah, good the Dutch are up there which they should.... We don't have much of a army to speak of when it comes to numbers, but what we do have are highly trained soldiers.
I'm a US Marine, and ya'll need to give the Royal Marines a bit of leeway. They are literally Special Forces. They fit more into a Special Forces category than a "Marine *Corps*" list. Get over yourselves.
I like Americans and all but dam when they aren't first they can get just a bit angry literally if you are going to come out wi all this shit saying how much better American marines are base it on facts.
Alex1999 just wait till he finds out that a royal marine (light infantry) has more confirmed sniper kills than the US Navy SEAL (special forces) Chris Kyle.
When did the Americans beat the British I thought the British started the country called America Didnt a bloke called Washington originate from Britain. Isnt the language English !
The United States definitely has the world's most powerful Marine Corps in existence, with over *243,000* personnel. What is a single commando unit compared to an entire military force of basic infantry, light infantry, and SOFs - MARSOC, Force Recon, Division Recon, Maritime Raid Force, Scout Snipers, ANGLICO ...etc. ..? Royal Marines are shit against those odds! There is twice the amount of light infantry in the U.S.M.C. than there are Royal Marines! Better trained too ... Each Marine Expeditionary Unit is - Special Operations Capable(*S.O.C.*) In other words, they are equal to an SOF, but they are still a light infantry unit. Not only do they engage in *26* weeks of baseline training, but they must complete various SOC command courses as well, and complete several operations and hostage rescue simulations. And unlike R.M.C. who recruits from the general public, M.E.Units are comprised of formal U.S. Marines. So not only does the United States have the world's most powerful Marine Corps, but the most elite marine units - MARSOC, Force Recon, Division Recon, Maritime Raid Force, and Marine Expeditionary Units - who are all more elite and better trained than Royal Marines.
***** The best Marine Corps will have the most personnel, the best trained personnel, the most units, the best equipment, the best technology, the most varieties of amphibious tactics ...etc. The U.S.M.C. is superior in all categories ...
Kyle Kevin Kirk the Wiz numbers only. US marines are really just a regular army. Good for the job they're trained for but nothing more. Bring up the war of independence as much as you like, cos Britain is thousands of miles from America and we still nearly beat you , IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD. We are a country bred for warfare. We were fighting wars when America was unheard of. And even with the military might at your disposal , America will not go to war anymore unless Britain goes to war with them .
PAUL E Such an ignorant statement. The US Marine Corp's sheer size enables it to comprise several Special Forces units and light Infantry as well. You fail to understand that the USMC consists of the United State's top notch, tier 1 SOC Forces which are much more elite than Royal Marines. also, dating back to the Pacific and Vietnam War where they've never lost a single battle. Can't say the same for your Royal Marines who got captured repeatedly by the Iranians. Also, I never mentioned America's War for Independence, though America still won that one. Not to mention, US Marines had defeated British Royal Marines through every encounter during the War of 1812. Otherwise, you're cadence is flaud, as the US has fought the majority of it's wars on it's own. Even now the US is fighting solo wars in Pakistan and in the Philippines. More like Britain can't, and never will fight a single war without the support of it's Commonwealth.
Kyle Kevin Kirk the Wiz your bragging about the mass of the US marines right . well think of it this way the uk spends a lot less money on its armed forces and has a lot less people in the armed forces but yet we are still a very powerful. compared to the US the uk is very small and yet is just as skilled and well trained as the US armed forces u say all this about how they're all special forces then what's the point in being in the special force it's be the best of the best not be put in a company were u could be the best . what next ur going to talk about how the US killed bin laden
Which ultimately means, when you do the math, you can pull the best of the best from hundreds of thousands of those that STARTED as just USMC recruits but then went on to WAY more advanced training ....pull from THAT elite group and equal number to the best of the best of ANY country and now who is the baddest? It is simple math hombres
Hi RUclips ! Just for information, the french "Troupe de Marine" isn't an corp of french Marine Nationale. In french army the "Troupe de Marine" regroupe the older colonial troupes (in french "infanterie coloniale") and actualy named "infanterie de marine" and is attached to the french "Armée de Terre". The french Marine Nationale have a troupes named "Fusiller-Marins" and "Commando Marine". The actual french Commando Marine is a legacy of the 1er Bataillon de Fusillers Marins Commandos with the Commandant Philippe Kieffer in command created during the world war two and this french has trained by the Royal British Commandos created by the british first minister Winston Churchill

He's done a video on here
That a small country like the Netherlands still has such a great marine force.
+Frederik ten Berg They actually train with the Royal Marines. ALOT

Respect to the US but anyone who has had contact the Royal Marines know they are real badass and every one a trained commando.
Right the RM are bad ass. Id Say they are about as equal as a Force Recon US Marine though. But not just a small unit of Recon guys, a whole CORPS of recon guys and thats what makes the RM >>> average US Marines ( who arent Recon or Marsoc).
Anyone who’s every had real contact with a us marine doesn’t know anything.. because they’re probably dead 😂
When you consider all of Britain’s history, being heavily influenced by the Roman colonisation of Britain and their methods of war and conquering, it’s not really surprising that they would be world leaders in areas of military, engineering, science, aviation and as an island seafaring nation, maritime warfare too 🙂
Marines are Marines. It matters not from which country. We're all brothers and sometimes adversaries in arms. Respect!
USMC - at bootcamp, all recruits are required to run 1.5 miles in under 13.30 before continuing with training
Royal Marines - all 'potential' recruits are required to run 1.5 miles in under 10.30 on
a treadmill. This is in the careers office before they even finish filling all the forms in.
Need I say more?
How much or fast ppl can run isn't a gauge on how effective their unit is, I'm sure jihadists can run REAL fast when they are being routed
Dave Roberts and let's be honest here, anyone mildly fit can run 1.5miles in under 10:30, that's not very impressive for a sf entry fitness test...
Mildly fit need not apply, along with the other 99.9%
Mildly fit can choose the US Marines and have an extra three minutes to do the run.
I agree and im a hardcore USMC guy. RMC is more elite on the single soldier level.

Thank god someone who finally understands that the usmc isn't shut
You forget that usmc also has special forces called force recon
Stal RG another thing that you forget is why the marines are called devil dogs and I believe it was Germany who was so afraid of marines that they posted posters up saying beware of the devil dog (marines)

About 10 years ago there was a television show where elite forces from all over the world were tested (this was an American television show), and a lot of countries were joining. The Dutch Marines left them all behind, Navy Seals, Marines, Spetznaz, Foreign Legion. We don't outrun them in numbers, but we did outrun all of them in quality. So for commando style operations there is only one marine corps that counts and that is The Marine Corps of the Royal Netherlands Navy.

bravo 1/8 2MEF 0341 veteran (96-00).
"Who dares wins"...that is my favourite force.
Yes, love the Marines, but SAS and US Army Special Mission Units are definitely the cream of the crop.
39 weeks basic training to get in the Royal Marines. Those American Seals are only equivalent to Royal Marine Command, Seals wouldn't even be classed as SF in the UK.
Yes they would- BUD/S is the hardest training besides marsoc we have to offer. The USA isnt the most powerful for no reason
+Christian Taylor hey calm down lol the uk citizens are a little un easy because we have beaten them twice already
How long does it take to train a Navy SEAL?
Training of a Navy SEAL takes at least a year and a half from boot camp until the time he is ready to go to a SEAL Team. Once at a SEAL Team, he usually has an additional year or more of training prior to his first deployment. Even then, a SEAL's training is not complete he continues to hone and enhance his skills throughout his career
Takin right from the navy seals website, bud/s is only the beginning of their trading, they train for 2-3 years after bud/s
But the navy seals is a lot harder
Plus that's only basic training not the whole thing
I completed US Marine OCS and those color sergeants of the RM are the most motivating individuals I have ever had the pleasure to experience. Hope I run into them further in my career. I don't think one Marine Corps is better than the other. If you look at the individual history of each Marine Corps you'll understand why some have evolved into what they are and why they do certain things in certain ways. It's also important to look at the history of the nation that the Marines belong to as well. As elite forces within a nation (goes for all Marines around the world), each Marine Crops changes to meet their nations demands. Different nations usually have different demands for their Marine Corps.
Come on we are allies!

this whole video is most likely based on his bias preference like you said the royal marines would not be able to take on the USMC but they are tailed to different roles the USMC is a fighting force (not a army) that has the ability to engage with out the need for support from the other branches of the armed forces for example; the have their own armored corps (tanks and shit), close air support wing(jets and choppers) where as the royal marines act as a special forces group highly trained and deadly but they do not have ability to directly engage in combat on a grand scale eg; the assault and occupation of a city and/or region/province because the lack heavy equipment like tanks CAS(close air support) and the would have to be supported by the regular army and air force for said assets, this can be said about any marine force or corps when comparing them to one another.
i get it
the royal marines commando has more 8000 marines because their traing is friggin tough

Honestly I'm American and if our marine corps was first I would've laughed lmao
I would love for you to attend a RFE. AKA Reconnaissance Fitness Evaluation. Oh. then you would change your mind.
Royal Marines are way better bro, lmao
I'm an American and my dads friends who are marines admitted that the Royal Marines are more elite. Marine Recon on the other hand is pretty much the same level as Royal Marines.
Marine Force Recon is spec ops dude you cant compare Spec ops to just normal marines
Force Recon Marines are Special Operations CAPABLE Units. They are under control of he Marine Corps
+Robert Oney US Marines sure think they're the best. I was a corpsman, I wanted the USMC to be number one lol. I still think we're the best.
Dodge Mustang he didn’t 😂
Dead wrong...boot doesn't prepare you for what is to come..SOC prepares for what has come...boot is boot.
True but not true the u.s. navy seals r the most trained in the wrld
And where is the Royal Swiss Cheese makers ?
USMC = tough grunts.
Royal brittish and Dutch=Elite light infantry commando"
Well now 5 years later we have a woman in the Dutch marine core....just one 😂😂
Adam Ashor dude Marines have been And always have been “light naval infantry” we were so good the Germans considered us equal if not better than their most elite units in WW1, brits were fighting them since 1914 we only got there in 1918 and kicked their asses harder than anyone else
@@arjenliewerink not true...1 tried in 2018 but didnt finnish training.
Sas are the most well trained and are known to train the seals.
***** i mean they have trained them not they do
Was just about to say mate, SAS far surpass the SEALS.
Marines aren't special forces, they're marines.
SBS and SAS are special forces.
USMC ELITE
the RMC aren't a special talk forces, they are the same classification as a USMC!
ok lets keep the fact strait
Special Air Service (SAS) = DELTA FORCE ------ BOTH AIR
Special Boat Service (SBS) = NAVY S.E.A.L'S ------ BOTH SEA
Sorry to burst any bubbles here, but the physical training for the 2 pairs are pretty much parallel! However once that's done, the Special Service are then taken to MI5/6 and taken into mental training to deal with counter terrorism/Espionage training! Basically an SBS fighter in the equivalent of; if a S.E.A.L and James Bond had a child! So S.E.A.L's aren't the most highly trained I'm afraid!
proud to be Filipino 🇵🇭
GunnySergeant Steph I think your marines are one of the most battle hardened units in the world. Perhaps less equipped than some western countries but great results.
Guys stop fighting over who is first yeah i am a american and yes i also thought us marine corp should have been first but it is just a video it is his opinion and in the end be thankful you even have a military.
The SBS scare me no one knows anything about them
What do you want to know, lol
Donny wait r u sbs
@@howsyourdaytodayihopeitsgo519 he's not allowed to tell you that
Apex ArcticWolf They are however, I believe they’re advised against it to prevent hassle, questions and local hardmen wanting to prove themselves to you.
we britts are by far the best soldiers in the world,,who else can brew up a cup of tea under heavy fire,in the most inhospitable scenario known to man,and smile. 😊👍
But we are nicknamed "Devil Dogs" and "Jarheads". We called the RMC "Muffins" and "Crumpets"
Yeah, you give yourselves those nicknames...😬
Callum vs- insert name "Devil Dogs" was German.
Alan Hodgkinson that seems like a bold statement considering the fact that American marines see more action
Nathan Schachle And faced more aggressive enemies, like Imperial Japan with their Banzais and Kamikazes, Vietnam with their booby traps of immense horror, and many other enemies.
I salute you guys .. all of you ... thank you for all you do ... Note: the video was excellent... the song perfect... Anybody who is having a pissing contest on this conversation ! Have more class please... War is hell.... people die... Don't be biting each others ankles.... SEMPER FI! because I am an American... but please stop disrespecting each other.... God bless and be safe...
Ezra... thank you...
You need 13 weeks to train an American Marine and 30 weeks to train a royal Marine.
32* for a rmc
USMC - The most feared fighting force on the planet.
Because civilians aren't safe from their "freedom" operations
Get rekt m8
You have seen a lot of war movies I can tell
Did you take that quote and change SAS with USMC?
Boomstick it’s actually not
the Netherlands have discoverd the marines so they were first
+Luc Wehbe haha nee
XanderEU- 3 Wat haha nee?
Ah, good the Dutch are up there which they should.... We don't have much of a army to speak of when it comes to numbers, but what we do have are highly trained soldiers.
I'm a US Marine, and ya'll need to give the Royal Marines a bit of leeway. They are literally Special Forces. They fit more into a Special Forces category than a "Marine *Corps*" list. Get over yourselves.
Yeah sorry to ruin your excuse but the royal marines are not SF. SOC maybe like the Dutch but not SF.
I like Americans and all but dam when they aren't first they can get just a bit angry literally if you are going to come out wi all this shit saying how much better American marines are base it on facts.
american sniper I strongly disagree.
american sniper I’ve been a Royal Navy clearance diver for the past 3 years.
Alex1999 The Royal Marines training is more than double the length of USMC training, this American sniper guy doesn’t know what he’s on about
Alex1999 just wait till he finds out that a royal marine (light infantry) has more confirmed sniper kills than the US Navy SEAL (special forces) Chris Kyle.
american sniper i did not say anything about longest shot
USMC Devil Dogs are number 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SEMPER FI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! US Marines are ELITE warriors.
No more bull$#!%. This is my comment and if anyone brings their negative thoughts here, they're gone. Keep the crap to yourself.
Fuck yeah!!! Oohrah
Scorpion that's what I'm talkin about.
SKAR Venegas oohrah
Also, holah snackbar!!!
Awww yeh
Tea drinker made this video.
Edward Collier lol so the Indians, Mongolians, or Japanese?
luke law I'm talking to your kind, Brit.
Edward Collier okay. so why do you say that a Brit must have made it
luke law Because it might be biased in favor of the Brits.
Edward Collier what if the video isn't. and why would you think it's biased
These days the Netherlands Marines are nr. 1. I am not joking, they are rated the best by many foreign powers like Germany, Spain, France and Canada.
USMC in #2?! 242,675! And then you put the UK in 1st with only 7200?! how much BS did you eat for breakfast man?!
Now I think the Brits are cool and all but America has beaten the British , twice actually .
Actually Its 1-1, you(the French) won the war of independence and then we come back 30 odd years later and put you in your place:)
When did the Americans beat the British I thought the British started the country called America Didnt a bloke called Washington originate from Britain. Isnt the language English !
We enslaved you in the first place. We made you what you are. And smashed your asses at sea several times.
Rubbish Rubbish THE DIFERENCE IS THEY DONT TALK ABOUT IT
USMC... Battle hardened? better trained? USMC training 14 weeks. RM 32 weeks. Yeah shut up
The United States definitely has the world's most powerful Marine Corps in existence, with over *243,000* personnel.
*****
The best Marine Corps will have the most personnel, the best trained personnel, the most units, the best equipment, the best technology, the most varieties of amphibious tactics ...etc.
More like Britain can't, and never will fight a single war without the support of it's Commonwealth.
heeeYUUTTT!!!!
Thanks for the nod to the falklands at the end :D
Valientes por tierra y por mar, la más antigua del mundo, viva España ❤️💛❤️
korps mariniers is better than usmc, only thing is they have more troops.
The US Marines and the Royal Marines Together are the best. They train together more regularly than any Marine Unit and know and respect one another enormously.God bless all Marines.
Actually Dutch and UK marines train together more even formed a unit called the UK/NL landing force.
Go dutch marines !!!!!!!!
Spanish marine infantry is the oldest and the best. ¡VIVA ESPAÑA 🇪🇸! Good video anyway.
I'm spanish. We marines corp haven't got a lot of men but is the most old marines corp in the world (1537)
What year were they founded?
+Bobby Crush In 1537
Not true, historically the Dutch Marine Corps was the very first Marine Corps ever created
Dutch_Pagan that’s wrong the British created the first marine corps
