I guess these can be useful to do quick shot-lists and vision boards, hope it doesn't actually replace filmmakers though.
Far from it lol. I think the short shots are on purpose. OpenAI showed slightly longer clips and lately the new ones being uploaded from as recent as 2 months ago have been showing the same weaknesses in AI, maybe more obviously now.
It will replace film makers. The whole point of AI is to replace the workforce to maximise profit for the big corporations.

@@bcrox Suppose you're making a low budget indie movie, and you have a warehouse set to shoot on but neither the budget nor time to get a real exterior establishing shot. The instant establishing shot they showed in this video could save you tens of thousands of dollars and let you focus more on the script and filming. You're still literally making the rest of the movie yourself, but it's better than it would've been without that little extra touch. Use the resources available to you to tell your stories better.

FYI: ALL of this video (including footage of the team and Donald Glover in the room) was created by Veo.
How cool is THAT? Pay close attention and you will notice some very subtle oddities indicating AI-generated nature of the whole video. For example, at 0:18 look at the fingers of the left hand of the girl in black top, they act weird, sticking out, like she had some trauma. Or, at the same 0:18 look at the fingers of the left hand of the guy in brown t-shirt touching his right arm behind his back: they start to act weird too right before cut to the next shot. Or look at the sticker on the notebook, it is clearly green, but at 0:32 same notebook, it is white. Nevertheless this thing is improving and I'm afraid to imagine what we'll have in 2-3 years.

The often prohibited cost of film making is about to be brought down tremendously. Better stories, faster production times, barriers to entry reduced, along with a flood of new creators to challenge the status quo. Hollywood, better get ready for disruption or find a way to take the craft to an entirely new level.
I have no doubt that this will only get better, but this is the death of content, not the beginning. People are going to get sick of this really quickly.

But none explain what is so "bad" about the tool and/or video.
Glover said it right, it will make you fail faster. AKA help rectify mistakes quick fast.
Instead of sending a camera crew out to shoot a nature scene from the opposite POV, you can now do it irt.
Notice it doesn't show any human interaction, which is where true creatives can develop and present their Story or Idea.
Maybe im missing something, its happened...once, 😉.
