"We also need less offensive history" doesn't change history. In fact it might be what this country needs. A simple waiver that we have crappy history that angers every sane citizen and don't take it too seriously.
Then there's the ones we heard of and didn't see: Cornfield Slaughter, Lament of the Buffalo, Needless Slaughter, Slaughter gone wrong, Eating the Reverend, It's Raining Blood, and Death Everywhere.
Can you imagine the planning sessions for this show? "Okay everybody, we have to come up with a mural even more offensive and inappropriate than the last one. Any ideas?"
@@AA-rc1ny How about museums with placards that have a few of the details and tour guides who are able to give the horrible context to these events? My local university has a building dedicated to some of our local historical pieces as well and they provide full context with it (and they aren't going anywhere anytime soon). Rather than sitting in front of the offices of government workers with little more than their name on a plaque.
Sadly this is so true with America but the scarier thing is trying to erase it. We need these things to remember how awful we were and how mich we grown from it.
I do like how in the show that they depict both sides having committed atrocities against each other. It isn't just one side did bad things. It depicts history more truthfully that way as neither side was the victim or hero. Both did terrible things to the other. It's why I love this show.
My favorite w one, not depicted here, was the one where the townspeople burned a magician for sorcery, in the 1970s.
Along with his rabbit.
I always lose it at the delivery of "they used every part of the pioneer"
So accurate for American Towns, my Town has murals just like these
Seriously? Like what do they have?
I wonder how the set creators felt when painting these.
I'd say proud.
Srsly…original paintings just for one-time throw away gags? Impressive
Awesome, they are funny as fuck.
They need the one about the magician who comes to town
love that one! "The Year was 1973"
“We also need less offensive history” is a life lesson
This should be written under the Statue of Liberty.
How does one alter history without removing the truth? A thanksgiving flower circle would have been cute and less offensive - but not true

Not really every story in history is offensive to someone
Offensive history is good, it means you have much to learn from.
I swear, this is the best thing i’ve ever seen. Despite the dark humor.

These all sound like a death metal album track titles

History should be shown in its raw truth. Offensive or not, the truth should be shown
Agreed. The question is if you should "honor" certain events, like by giving them a space in the town's key public building.
@@theoutlook55 and also how the events are presented…such as the railworkers looking like t h a t
@@theoutlook55 yes. These types of murals should only be placed in bathrooms with that logic.

This was some of the more clever humour of the series.
They need the one in town hall called "Good Pawnee, Bad Pawnee"
It’d be like that office meme: they’re the same picture.
_Fortunately there were two survivors_
_Unfortunately they were both horses_
A LIVELY ✊✊✊

Literally history, we must not forget.
I wonder what happen to these muirals after the serie ended
The creators said that they were too big to hang on to so they were all destroyed :(
MURINAL! MURINAL! MURINAL!!
The mural at Geo. Washington High School in San Francisco.
I wondered why these murals were so racist and offensive then I heard them say they were painted in the 1930's and I was like "oh that explains it"
I’m really upset that Turnbill mansion was destroyed
I feel like Rutherford Falls was inspired by this show.
Leslie is strangely attractive lol

Does anyone know why the ones at 0.13 and 2.01 are backwards?
Fighting claims. If the video is backwards it's less likely to get tagged.
