Those illusions that appear to be moving even though they aren't, actually only work if your eyes are moving around, looking at different parts of them. If you keep your eyes still on one specific spot, all perceived movement comes to a halt.
I'm an optical illusion enthusiast, and I've been studying them for years. I showed my friend couple of my favorite illusions and she told me I was lying and that it was all a hoax. I explained it but she didn't want to believe it was her brain tricking her. 0:38 Actually for this illusion, your eyes are seeing it correctly, because if you count the grid tiled floor, you can specifically see the size of the table. The Red Table is about 3.5 x 3.5 tiles while the Green Table is 2 x 5 Tiles - They can't be the same shape, it's just the perspective for the "overlay image" to fit in.
Those tables aren't the same, and I'll tell you why. I took out a ruler and manually measured those lines, and yes, the line lengths are the same. But do you see the ends of them? They're slanted. Both sets of lines are slanted in a different way. Even if the lines are the same, those are not the same shapes because the angle of the lines makes all the difference. If the shorter line is angled, the shape is squat. If the longer line is angled, the shape is long. As demonstrated in the figure. You can tell me the lines themselves are the same all you want. That I will believe. But the shapes themselves? No, they are not. I even measured the sides of the shapes to be sure, and they are not the same.

Well, (if you believe in evolution) our minds have been trained to perceive distances and such. On a two dimensional plane, the surfaces of the tables are in fact, the same area. The table legs and the shadows make the tables appear three dimensional. Since the long side of the green table seems to be going from your viewpoint to some opposite wall, your brain tells you that the green surface is in fact, longer than that of the red surface. Without the table legs, it would become obvious that the table surfaces are of the same area and length*width. Just saying, I may not be totally correct, so perhaps you can do more research on this topic.

Oh wow, didn't realize you can turn off the moving illusions with your eyes, I can't explain it but I will try. Just stare at the middle of the illusion and focus and it will stop spinning, or waving, or whatever trippy thing it's doing
Optical illusions are cool, but the one at 0:37 is fake. Use the grid on the floor to measure the tables and you will see that they are completely different sizes.
***** There is no illusion. Look at the design of the carpet underneath the tables, and count the lines to measure the width and height. There is no illusion there, you will see that the tables are in fact different sizes. The person who was trying to stage the illusion did it wrong; you're supposed to have a long table angled in a way that it appears to be square. But doing so would also change the angle of the grid on the floor; you'd want a plain floor.
For all you saying it's fake. Take your charger or headphone cable and measure the length / width from 1 and put it up next to the other. You will see that both dimensions are the same.

Oh wow, didn't realize you can turn off the moving illusions with your eyes, I can't explain it but I will try.
Just stare at the middle of the illusion and focus and it will stop spinning, or waving, or whatever trippy thing it's doing

You're measuring wrong then, cause they are. Both yellow lines are the same length, so are both blue lines.

Optical illusions are cool, but the one at 0:37 is fake. Use the grid on the floor to measure the tables and you will see that they are completely different sizes.
***** There is no illusion. Look at the design of the carpet underneath the tables, and count the lines to measure the width and height. There is no illusion there, you will see that the tables are in fact different sizes. The person who was trying to stage the illusion did it wrong; you're supposed to have a long table angled in a way that it appears to be square. But doing so would also change the angle of the grid on the floor; you'd want a plain floor.
I just measured them. They are the same.
The shadow of the tables mimic each other, making them look like one is taller or wider
I measured it with my ruler and they are the exact same size
For all you saying it's fake. Take your charger or headphone cable and measure the length / width from 1 and put it up next to the other. You will see that both dimensions are the same.
It's pointless to a point , but it's still stupid to a point.

look around at the crosses with out really looking at them. stare at one point and use your peripheral vision the see the other dots
