Related to this, Would you happen to know how to shut off the stream of white light that stays on when powred from both the front and rear cams? It makes the camera noticeable when on parked mode and I rather have it discreet and subtle. Is the light needed for night vision? Would my best solution be to put black tap over it?

    Whenever i feel like i want to shoot Video of both the Front doors these cameras have Option to Shoot outside at any time like a Vlogger and do not want to shoot video of (Front and inside the Rear Room) , then the SKYBLUESEA B2W & CAMSONIC ULTRA Z 2 & 3 Dash Cam Benefits if a person want to shoot a video outside the front doors sides Left & Right. Option like Rear View Mirror , would be easy to change the direction to record Multiple Angles like a Pro Photographer of both the Cams accordingly , option to Rotate , as they Rotates 180 degrees , like Rear view Mirror Angle . Great in depth review. i was editing my review tonight and saw you had recently uploaded one. That is a crazy 4 channel set up by the way. I had a similar setup years ago with two DR650-2CH cams, but that was before these better batteries came out. Only the T-power plus was available at the time and it just killed by battery too much. But now I don't drive enough to keep by dash cam batteries charged always. I would like to see a new power magic ultra with a timer built in. I hear the new DR900X has built in settings but not compatible with the power magic ultra from what blackvue told me.

    • @VortexRadar
      @VortexRadar  4 года назад

      It looks like a new cable is gonna be required for the DR900X since it now has an ignition triggered parking mode like Thinkware and Viofo. A new 3-wire cable and unfortunately the existing 2-wire cables like what we use for the DR900S/750S/650S aren't compatible with the DR900X. So we're gonna have to run new cables for the DR900X, but from what they told me, it should work with the B124 batteries. I'll definitely check when I get mine on hand.

    • @integralcam
      @integralcam 4 года назад

      @@VortexRadar Hmmmm... they told me it won't work with the B124 battery but maybe she was incorrect. I was ready to try wiring it to my cellink battery B that has a 3 wire connection. I think I was supposed to get my 900X today, because I had a DHL package that was unable to be delivered to my office after hours from pittasoft. I am a little confused as to why they have the LTE series with built in LTE, and the X series with external LTE.

    • @VortexRadar
      @VortexRadar  4 года назад

      I guess we'll find out for sure regarding the wiring and batteries once we get the dashcams in and have a chance to start messing with things.
      and yeah, it definitely would have been nice to have a DR900 LTE without requiring the external LTE spot. I wonder what their thought process is on this...

Has anyone had this happen to them? I used to never get laser alerts and now I'm getting several laser alerts per drive. I've had the Escort for years and the only thing that's different is this new Blackvue LTE camera. I can't imagine the camera is the cause, but it's the only thing that makes sense.

    Hi Vortex, looking for a new dual dash-cam setup for my vehicle. Just recently saw Viofo is working on a 2K/1080 version of the A129. Have you had your hands on this camera? I'm specifically interested in how it compares to the single ch A119 v3 and also the 1080/1080 and 4K/1080 versions of the A129. (Believe they are branded as A129 Duo, A129 Plus Duo, and A129 Pro Duo with respect to resolution). I ordered the 4K/1080 one, but am worried about its low light performance and over exposure. The 2K/1080 model may be the perfect balance between daylight sharpness and night time light. My previous car had the A119 v2 and I love the quality of that dash cam, but want rear coverage this time. Thanks for the advice and these very detailed radar/dash cam videos :)

    My wife's new Audi A6 has what seems like a dozen cameras distributed around the car... front bumpers, rear bumpers, under the door handles, trunk lid, under the side view mirrors...
    My question: Why isn't there a dealer option to plug in a 4+ channel DVR so I don't need to add some ugly cameras with dangling wires glued to the front and rear glass?

    • @VortexRadar
      @VortexRadar  4 года назад +3

      It would be nice. Audi sells their own OEM dashcam, but it doesn't use those existing cameras. audishop.online/product/audi-q7-a8-universal-traffic-recorder-camera-front-rear/
      Tesla is the closest thing to what you're asking with their Sentry mode on some of their vehicles.

      @@VortexRadar Thanks! I forgot that you had an Audi as well... I remember you shooting the Uniden R7 setup video from there (which was SUPER helpful, TYVM).
      That Audi UTR is even more expensive for the newer models, but it does look OEM fresh and doesn't have all of the cables dangling about. Looks good. I'll have to think about it.

    • @VortexRadar

      I was just watching some reviews and apparently it's incredibly time consuming to install and there's still a cable hanging down for the front cam. It's got some cool features like parking mode and radar sensors for motion detection, but it's overly sensitive in motion detection, plus the video resolution is pretty low by today's standards, especially for the price. 1080p for the front and lower res for the rear.

    A question; the senerio where you are trying to capture license plate numbers in daytime bright light at highspeed travel. What provides the best resolution, the 750 with 60fps or the 900 with 4k resulution? Here in southern Utah on highway 89 there are a huge number of incidents including fatal with unsafe high speed passing.
    In summary fps versus resulution.

      This doesn't support a 3rd cam, but you can always add an additional standalone cam for another camera angle.

If you leave the car longer than a day, will not have any backup battery left to run the unit. There are better video quality units for the price. Is the LTE Data is constantly in use by the Dashcam ( specially in parking mode with battery connect ). Does it constant upload videos to cloud using LTE , I am just curious becasue as you said 2Gb data plan is adequate , so, wondering about this. Or the data only use to upload video when event occurred or manually triggered by waving hand or watching from MObile App.

    • @VortexRadar

      It constantly records to the MicroSD card. It does not constantly upload via LTE. Uploads are only done for specific events (ie. when you manually mark clips while driving or when an impact is detected while parked) and that is all customizable. Livestreaming obviously uses data too.

    I have a BlackVue and wanted to go the route via WiFi for parking mode. But I’m kind of confused with the hotspot topic. How would you be able to connect to the device’s live view when not near car? Does the hotspot being connected to the camera give you the ability to go onto the app and use the live view feature?

    • @VortexRadar

      The hotspot in the dashcam creates a way for you to connect to the dashcam remotely from anywhere.

    This is all very complicated to me about cloud, wi-fi hot spots turning on unit, battery drain etc. I am not sure what all of that is about. Can you just use a SD micro chip to store all recordings and play back on a computer? I just want a simple non intrusive setup and with a rear external hi resolution weather proof camera that can be mounted on rear bumper outside of car that will hook up to the front dash cam unit and record just as clear as front dash cam.
    You use two units ( $$$ double cost of 2 dash cameras $$$$) one of which acts as your rear dash cam but I have 5% limo tinted rear window which would distort images in rear inside car especially at night. I want a simple set up as previously mentioned, (non intrusive) so an external hi resolution all weather camera mounted outside of vehicle in rear would probably be better in my case using only one dash cam unit. Any recommendations?

    • @VortexRadar
      @VortexRadar  4 года назад

      You don't need a dedicated battery, but it often gives you longer parked recording times and takes the load off of your vehicle's battery so it doesn't wear out sooner.
      As for the heat issue, the dashcam-specific batteries are designed to be used in hotter temperatures to avoid exploding. That's why they're larger and more expensive than portable batteries that recharge your phone. Here's a video on the topic: ruclips.net/video/4gH0i07mSJ4/видео.html
