Here goes all my spare time for the next week or so. It looks simple but the right hand says "no". Great tutorial skills, Sean. Thanks!

is it weird that the second chord in the first verse, the am11 sounds better to me with an am7 barred on 5th fret. Specifically the b string sounds out of place when I sing it.

Thank you so much for the lesson, I've been meaning to play this one for years. I do mostly James Taylor but wanted a change and jazz and soul are a refreshing change. I looked on UG and found the chord sheet but they were far too simplistic for me so I just slowed the video down and studied your fingers.
Things have changed a lot since I was young. If you wanted to play a song properly there was no internet so I had to go to see James Taylor twice with binoculars near the front town and study his fingers and take notes I bet he remembers me. I stood out like a sore thumb. For me it was two very expensive guitar lessons. But I got my moneys worth.
Because of you learn half a dozen songs you can parlay the teqniques into practically every song. I was convinced song books were deliberately written by writers who did not want you to learn correctly to suppress the artistic exclusivity because the music bore no resemblance to the the performance. Since the stone age artists have been (inspired by ) leapfrogging over each other.
Including Chuck Berry, The Beatles and so on. So there's no such thing as plagiarism just lawyers gatekeeping.

You have kind a unique channel in that, you do videos here and there that appear to be to be mainly very high level stuff about music theory, but also just kind of random here and there. Thank you for all of the tips that you share publicly btw, for someone like me who is trying to help teach my 10 year old son learn beyond my limited ability.. I wanted to clarify though that what you are doing with regard to the purpose of your channel is not to offer a teaching a system per se of (how to play guitar from scratch like some of these other online teachers)?. Candidly, the thing that depresses me about your channel tho is that your musical knowledge seems so advanced such that I have wondered if you have like a degree in music, or if eventually that is required to be able to play for someone’s backyard party? You seem to have a good sense of humor too so I would hope you take that statement as a complement. My neighbor said he would pay my son to play for an outdoor party which has motivated him and I’m trying to help him.
You always here stories about famous guitarists that taught themselves, and actually are successful and famous without really knowing much about music theory per se, .Most people in my family (both sides) play an instrument and the ones that got a degree in violin went back to school and had to get engineering degrees, but I don’t think he’s as good of a musician as some of the other aunts and uncles that just played instruments from scratch. At least it appears that way.
I was a professional tennis player and I see these teaching pros that project such technical information (and arrogance about it) to the point that its so overwhelming you give up before you begin. The irony is that most of these teaching pros that I have known are horrendous players, and easily beaten. Some of the best teachers weren’t the best players because they had to work at it but there’s a niche or arrogant Instructors that are All talk, no ability which may or may not be relatable in music.
Btw, you don’t present arrogant at all, and actually are very likable but level of knowledge you have seems to be so great that I feel like you couldn’t accomplish your goals without a music degree.
I don’t know if I’m expressing myself well, but I can say that Rick Beato guy is the Epitome of someone so arrogant and full of himself regarding his musical knowledge that I don’t know why he has followers because personality makes them a lot of why you watch or learn from someone. I can’t figure out why he has so many followers because the window of people that have that level of musical knowledge is too small in my opinion to have that sizable an audience and it may just be that he reminds me of these arrogant tennis pros even if though he appears to have a lot of advanced musical knowledge also.
Maybe my question is is it possible with guitar to be a good player similar to a good tennis player without committing your life to music at a university level which is I’m guessing where you learned? Like if you start playing tennis when you’re 10 and your athletic and talented you don’t really need a whole lot of instruction other than just playing other people and you’ll improving your talent will take you as far you go?

    The chords are wrong ...
F into a D min9th to start with, not an A min? You also leave out the D 9th and F sus 4... It would be helpful for you to listen to the Bass "root note" in working up a song 🎵

Hey dude! I love your videos, I've been watching for about 6 or 7 months now and I've seen all of your videos.
You oughta do an acoustic guitar giveaway (and also choose me as the winner because I live in New Orleans, lost my 3 guitars in Hurricane Katrina (including a sweet custom fender strat and my Line 6 amp), and life has been throwing me far too many curve balls to the point where I've been completely unable to save up and buy anything better than this crappy $100 pawn shop acoustic guitar). Sooo yea, how 'bout we do that?
I'm just kidding about the guitar giveaway. Unless you're down to actually do a guitar giveaway. In which case, I'm dead serious about the guitar giveaway and you should definitely do a guitar giveaway. But again, if you're NOT down to do a guitar giveaway, then I'm totally joking about doing a guitar giveaway.
