As an Egyptian, chapter 19 is a promise that the church in Egypt is holding on to. God's people in Egypt now is a suffering minority but we pray that the knowledge of the Lord would cover Egypt as the water covers the sea. Blessed be Egypt His people.

Love the idea of HIM whispering HIS thoughts to me. Reminds me of Elijah hearing GOD in the gentle whisper… i need to learn to be quiet, be still more to hear the gentle whisper. 💜

God delights in diversity. Look at nature. Do we say “I don’t see color when we admire it?” No we don’t. Diversity isn’t something to be afraid of talking about in light of the word of God and His kingdom. He gave us our cultures. He placed us in them so He can speak to and be seen by all people in the uniqueness of those cultures. As long as culture doesn’t override the truth of God it’s all good. Celebrate!! I also feel that Tara needed not to ignore the imbalance of past biblical representations in art and film portrayed to believers of all ethnicities. It’s a beautiful thing to see more accurate representations of ethnicities in the stories of the Bible in art and film. Can you imagine growing up watching biblical films and cartoons that almost never (outside of a slave) feature someone who looks like you?? I can. And many others with me. It’s a frustrating feeling. Tara’s statement wasn’t divisive. Thanks Tara.

What a merciful God we serve. Not only is He merciful to His people, but also to His enemies. Isaiah chapter 20 says that when the Egyptians cry out to Him, He will rescue them and He "will respond to their pleas and heal them" (Isaiah 19:22).

God is a God of Vision and Welcome. I didn’t realize that Isaiah is a Jewish Cassandra, who foresaw the fall of Troy. God reveals the fall of Jerusalem in the Valley of Vision (Is 22:1-6), but it doesn’t drive Isaiah mad, like Cassandra, but to grief. God sees and directs the fall of Jerusalem, as well as Ethiopia, Babylon, Arabia-but it must have been shocking for Israelites to hear that God will welcome Egyptians and Assyrians into His home, as His people (Is 18:25). When we remember the Jewish hatred for Gentiles that Paul experienced in Jerusalem in Acts, it’s shocking that God tells His people, “I will change the hearts of your worst enemies, and make them my own people.” It’s no wonder, then, that God can guide the path of a bullet today and save a man’s life, who states that “God alone” saved him. He is at work today, never turning His back, and always powerful to accomplish His will.

What an image. Shebna and all his responsibilities hanging on a peg, secure. Then God comes along and cuts the strings, rips the peg out of the wall, and swings Shebna around and around and around like a slingshot, then lets him go. How tall is God? How far did Shebna fall? Far enough that he died alone in the middle of a field.
And why did this happen to Shebna and Jerusalem?
    ‭Isaiah 22:11 ESV‬
[11 ]" You made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But you did not look to him who did it, or see him who planned it long ago."
Their plans and preparations were good, but they worked them out in their own power, without looking to God for their salvation who was the author of them.
So, God decided to save them by sending them to Babylon.

God sends messages to the pagan nations.
Isaiah prophecies that the Gentile nations will bring tribute to Yahweh and acknowledge Him as God.
Egypt enslaved the Israelites for 400 years only let them go after God brought in a string of plagues and death.
They are a long standing nation known for their power. God is going to confuse their wisdom and oppress them.
But we see also that God will make himself known to the Egyptians. That Egypt will worship with Assyria.
These are His enemies and yet they will end up worshipping God.
This reveals God’s heart of love to a multinational family.
God has Isaiah dress in sackcloth and shave his head to represent mourning. He then goes to a state of nudity to represent being enslaved. This goes on and off for 3 years. Barefoot, naked and ashamed.
He has visions of cities being destroyed.
Isaiah is crushed with what will happen to Jerusalem.
But the people don’t repent. They spend their last days in self indulgence.
    God is sovereign.
He guides us into all truth.
He shows He is over all thoughts and the mind.
    He is trustworthy.

The Bible mentions Rwanda 🇷🇼, not Ethiopia 🇪🇹 , and all the prophecies came true in Rwanda, such as the genocide in 1994. You can do your own research.

As a white person, I wasn't worried at all. That statement was rude and discriminatory. Why bring race into the equation during this segment? I'm here to get closer to God, learn more about Him, and not worry about skin color. Update: I stand by my statement. What was said took away from what we were trying to study about God and the messages He was giving us.
1 Samuel 16:7..." For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart." In John 7:24 Jesus says "Do not judge by appearances, but judge with righteous judgment."

Agreed! There was no reason for tara,s comment, it was not necessary but very telling. I wasn't worried about the color of melanin the people had and I knew the Israelites weren't "white", regardless of the art we grew up with.
I will continue to read the plan because I don't quit, but I won't listen to her commentary anymore.

Tara leigh cobble not once while I have been reading this have I thought of the color of any of these people. Then when you commented something about white people. I was shocked. Yikes yourself. Maybe you should have not said that. Because God loves everyone no matter their color, creed. Think about what you say.
