The Kids sure loved it, and the leaders thought it was the coolest thing in the world, and Eric and I jumped up and down when it was completed lol! -Nathan R
Amazing work Can I ask do you connect the octo mk2 directly to the laptop ,and then to the led strip and then elm controls it all ? I'm looking to buy a system and enttec say I need a play sp 1 ??? What does that do ??? Is it essential ???
Hello, The "Enttec Play SP 1" would only be necessary as a controller for playback of a fixed show. I connect the OCTO MKii to the network, then my computer running ELM or Resolume Arena Pixel Sopftware connects to the OCTO(s) via the network connection. You could connect the OCTO directly to the laptop, but then you can't connect to other devices, I have a network setup so I can have wireless access and additional devices connected via ethernet. -Nathan R
In this case, That ended up being the most convenient way to do it. The OCTO and the LEDs both needed 5v on this project. It didn't matter where or how they got it, so we connected it directly from the PSU in this case. -Nathan
@@alexguy7704 As long as you don't exceed the circuit limit, or exceed the rating of the power strip then it should be fine. -Nathan If you'd like to book a Zoom Call I'd be happy to connect with you and help think through the details of your project. crazyamazingdesigns.com/training

@@CrazyAmazingDesigns thank you for you help 🙏
Why didn't you connect the power from the psu to the Octo, and instead to the led directly? I'm a little confused on that part.

What power supply are you using?
We are using these 5V 70Amp 350W Power Supplies: amzn.to/460ySYw
@@CrazyAmazingDesigns thanks! Do you plug these directly into the wall or could you possibly use a power strip?
