First off love the video and what you guys are doing out there. I live in southern Ontario and have been on the journey to grow soil and from what I’m learning is you can grow out your biology I like the Johnson su bioreactor I’ve made a few now one is almost 3 years old I like to age mine as long as possible the longer it sits the more diverse the fungal ecosystem gets the biology in that compost wants and needs root exudates so if you want to grow soil fast in your gardens you plant a diverse cover crop with legumes brassicas grasses herbs flowers whenever you can all the different exudates you get from all the roots will feed your diverse biology growing out your biology that you inoculated the soil with making available nutrients you didn’t have in your soil before due to the diverse biology mining the soil for nutrients for the plant root exudates if your going to make compost get the most out of it I see major improvements in my garden soils with aeration due to leavening the cover crop bio mass on the soil for the biology to consume tons of earthworm channels eating the decaying roots and above ground biomass leaving tons of air channels and worm castings ontop of the soil it’s exciting to read about growing soil and actually seeing it with your own eyes my soil is also much darker then when I started and I also water in compost teas and extracts and foliar feed cover crops and vegetables to get the plants pumping out the maximum amount of exudates into the soil it’s all about feeding your biology and not just one microbe feeding as many as you can and keep them alive and thriving
I'm in a very wet climate compared to you, but my baby trees have just been really slow to establish. I'm going to try to propagate some beneficial fungi to see if that will help this spring.

That's a great idea, I'm sure the trees will appreciate the help!

@MisaMcAnallen nice! Hopefully that keeps them at bay! Nature can be frustrating sometimes!😅✌🏾
