Ellie, the looks on your face were adorable. It must take every ounce e of energy and self control for you NOT to say, "Duh- I told you so!" Hey, all kidding aside, sometimes things dont come with good instructions so you have to test things before fully committing.
How hilarious!!!! Matt, I have three grown daughters and I feel your pain/shame! Ellie, go easy on your poor father- us men bear our shame forever- mostly because if a women is involved, we'll hear about it forever!!. I blame the poor/unclear diagram and it doesn't surprise me that Falcon Parts would have a better more accurate diagram as Falcon Parts knows Falcons and Comets. I've never seen the old sock application but I still recommend using a make-up brush- the kind that my daughters use for applying blush. It will deliver the corn starch onto the surface and minimize the dust that you should avoid breathing. Can't wait to see what you'll be installing next. FYI- I hope you have all the clips from the trim and that they are in good shape because it's hard to find good quality replacements and on the Comet a few of the clips were unique meaning they can't be found easily if at all. If you are missing any of these special clips, mention it in your next video as I bet some of your viewers have their special stash of such hard to find parts.
Maybe it wasn't funny at the time; but afterwards it can be found to be humorous. You and Dad can laugh about it forever. That's why I call confusing instructions "destructions".
At least Dad did not try to put the seal onto the trunk lid. That's how they go on a 1967 Ford Mustang and it Does not help that Ford also put a small lip around the trunk that makes it look like the seal would go there instead.
LOLOLOLOL, that was a case of there's the right way and there's Matts way. Great video and Matt just so you know factory workshop manuals can also be confusing so even factory technicians make mistakes based on poor drawings.
I agree with you, dad.....I would have interpreted those instructions the same way.....arrow pointing to the outside!! I blame manufacturer for lame instructions. ;-)
I am just wondering why you are using a trunk seal for a 1970 car? I do not remember Ford using that profile with the voided bulb in 1965. ( The part number beginning with "D0..." indicates 1970). You may be doing this again as I don't think there is enough room in that channel for that seal to fit. The trunk should not be that difficult to close.
Hands down the funniest episode yet. I love seeing how comfortable Ellie has gotten being in front of the camera
I love that Dad's shirt says "Do the job Right!".. Lol good job guys!
HOW DO THESE 2 NOT HAVE A TV SHOW YET??!!?? Yes, I'm yelling, I want the TV peeps to see it, LOL.
"that's one woman's opinion", "that's one way to do it"...lol. Probably the most fun episode yet. Totally worth the wait.
7:41 that look, I know that look lol. You 2 rock🤘🏻 you had me Rollin!!! 😂
Glad the sock worked 😁 I figured you would like that tip. Keep up the excellent work.
Yes! Thank you for the tip!!!
I get that same look from my daughter whenever I say, well, anything. 😂
Now Ellie, Dads are never wrong! we may be misunderstood but never wrong 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😁 Car is looking real good..
When your so confident that you're right, it's infinitely more difficult to admit otherwise!!!! Sorry Matt, but poop happens.
One of my favorite sayings when working with a Falcon, "It only has to be right the las time."
"This is one way to do it" .... lol. You guys are fun to watch
Always fun to prove dad (or mom) wrong. Next time there is an opinion difference, be sure to bring this up! LOL Great job!!!

Mistakes happen at least you learned from it and got it fixed . Don't be to hard on your dad ! 😂
We definitely learned--don't worry, all in good fun. We make sure plenty of teasing goes both ways. Ha!
You doing a great job. I love the drama.. oh replay can be bad.. doing great .. keep move forward.. I've had the same moment with my daughter.. !!!

Oh, it was still pretty funny at the time. I just had to give dad a hard time.
Nice Falcon ❤
You should have listened to Ellie Dad🤣👍 Love this episode 👍💯
So glad you liked it! Thank you!!
Funny video. Loved it. Dads make mistakes all the time😂
Use clothes pins or masking tape to hold the seal down until the glue dries.
At least Dad did not try to put the seal onto the trunk lid. That's how they go on a 1967 Ford Mustang and it Does not help that Ford also put a small lip around the trunk that makes it look like the seal would go there instead.
Right?!
I am sure Dad was just testing you...... That would be my story and I would stick with it. Thanks for the fun and entertaining video.
Ohhh poor dad....at least he was confident....lol
Lol, it happens.
Hey Ellie, at least you have video proof that DAD WAS WRONG!!! 🤣
"That's one woman's opinion." I used that line on my wife. Once. The more I'm seeing the color, the more I'm liking it, BTW.
Would using masking tape be just as good as the powder?
I give props to the daughter for not giving in..
Easy fix at least!
Thank goodness. 😃

Right?! Thank you! -Dad/Matt
Always remember, Dad's always screw up....
Definitely. Always. 😂
-Dad/Matt

Oh Dad! lol
😂😂 Right?!
Why does my weather stripping look completely different that what they were installing 🤷♂️
Okay it was wrong but you now it's First time than it's okay and you have it right now top ❤️👍❤️👍⭐
Be gentle, parents are not perfect. :D
Matt.....you need to decide....do you want to be right? or do you want to be happy?
It should have just said, "trunk".

Hmm. Not sure. This is what Melvin's and FalconParts.com are selling for my year of Falcon but it would be good to know if this isn't the right part.
@@ElliesGarage The correct part has just a simple flap at about 45 degrees.
That cool car be one all have memories some last and something share with kid later on in joy videos scapegoat were I hear about your video
I mean Ellie's only been right about 99% of the time
You are to be a lot nicer to your father he's trying his best
Not to worry. We joke around a lot in the garage. It's all in good fun.
