The Bodo Liberation Tiger (BLT) was an arms organization that primarily operated in the northeastern state of Assam, India. Formed in 18 June 1996, the BLT aimed to secure a separate state for the Boro people, an ethnic group native to the region, within India. The Bodo people, who speak the Boro language, felt marginalized both politically and economically, leading to a push for greater autonomy.

Background
The Boros have a rich cultural heritage, but historically, they faced issues related to land rights, identity, and development. These challenges led to a desire for self-determination, and the BLT emerged as one of several groups advocating for the rights of Boros, albeit through armed struggle.
