@@christina113704 This why COIE annoys me more now because they tried to make it seem like Sara and the others would be as affected by Oliver's death as Barry. Not even Diggle was as affected. COIE wasted Olivarry so much for pointless cameos and plot points. But I digress props to the Flash writers for not dropping Oliver's death like I expected, Barry wouldn't get over his best friend sacrificing himself to save him just like that. And when you think about it this death is different from his parents cause they were murdered while Oliver gave his life for him. The emotional weight of that is so heavy. The fact that they've kept this arc going tells me it's a hint for the future. Stephen said he wanted to come back as Oliver when Flash was ready to end.
Yup, I liked that it was Barry and Sarah were with him in his final moments it was fitting for them both to be there. I did feel bad for Dig, though, cause he didn't get to say goodbye to Oliver. He finally got his goodbye with him in the final season of Flash.
I cried so much seeing Barry dealing with Oliver's death, especially in 7x4 when Barry called him his brother and 8x13 when Deathstorm showed that Barry hasn't fully dealt with Oliver's death and still blames himself for it
Barry's scene with Sara is one of my favourites, while the legends were essentially ignoring her grief, barry was there for her and was very wise and they connected over that since they both loved oliver.
He clearly cares for Oliver and loved him so much😭 his grief stages are so sporadic because he’s more than likely continuously circling as he deals w his grief and his trauma. And it’s so ironic because I think Oliver went through at least two of the stages himself when he thought that he was gonna lose Barry- with bargaining and anger. And then seeing Barry going through them ALL in fervor is so heartbreaking. You clearly understand them so well and like I’ve said before, you portray that understanding so beautifully. You nailed his emotions on the damn head. I miss them so much. I loved this:(
I am glad we got to see barry grieve, despite how heartbreaking it is to watch. Bc it really does show how close him and oliver were and how important he was to him. 😭
One thing that annoys me is that everyone seemed to get over his death quickly ik its a Main topic of a lot of things but I feel there should be more emotion showed especially in the flash yk just saying
I agree. It’s frustrating because Oliver’s the reason for the other shows, essentially the Arrowverse, and it was quickly brushed past after Crisis. I know they had to finish off their seasons but with an event like Crisis and a tragedy like the first ever hero dying, it should’ve had a longer aftermath, especially on The Flash.
i agree. in most tv shows someone dies and they act like everything is normal like 1 or 2 episodes later. i feel like they should depict more of the grieving process in these shows.
This had to be hard on both Grant and Stephen because they were as close as Barry and Oliver. Olivers death was the end of Arrow so some of this is probably tapping into actual feelings.

The problem with the Crisis storyline is that it completely undermined the very foundation of Arrow as being the most grounded of all three shows. Flash and Supergirl adventures are often cosmic, Arrow's were far more grounded in reality. It is also immediately evident that the cast of Arrow is exhausted and more than ready to move on with the exception of William and Mia who were done a tremendous disservice in not being able to really recapture the audience leading to the scrapping of a planned spinoff for them.
In season 8 of the Flash it's a five part episode or something like that. Barry ends up teaming with other heros, including Mia. Even if Grant wasn’t working on the crossover, it still shouldn’t be one episode to show that grief. Barry always brings up his parents, and while that’s valid, the actors of his parents show up all the time. Barry lost Oliver. They should’ve done a better job with that.
