Not being able to swap an old hero for a newer one makes those things pretty useless in my opinion. There are plenty of older heroes that got built because there wasn't anything better in the faction, looking at Graveborn and Lightbearer A tiers in particular.
Yeah honestly I see 2 utility : - if you pull and build a useless heroes during the season for whatever reason. - If a good hero is released and you spend all your ressources to build it but the next one is a meta changer hero and you have nothing left to build it. But honestly those possibilities are kinda rare.
They should at least give us the swap tickets for the song of strife season as well. I dont mind, if they put the same restriction on it. Just give us the same swaps for the old season too.

If we can only swap two A - level and S-Level that will be release in the Waves of Intrigue, then it's almost useless. As if there's no player that exists who doesn't regret intentionally or accidentally building a character. For example, I now regret building Marilee because of so much hype for her use in DR but now she's falling in the meta with the release of Lily May. I'm thinking of swapping her with Sinbad because I believe he will be more useful in PVP which I'm focusing right now because I'm lacking DPS characters after building supports first. The thing is, I can't do that because Marilee is not released during the Waves of Intrigue 😑. If they are going to keep it that way, they might as well give a swap coupon for the song of strife heroes because I want to swap my S+ Ludovic with Mikola.

Likely one of the better uses of the swap ticket would be back swapping later in the season if you missed out on pulling a good units due to lacking pulls at the time. The other option would be swapping sindbad into a different A rank later as the lightborn a rank slots is more available for putting heros into. Final trick would be slingshotting to a quick supreme+ on new account bypassing the pulling cap by doing 4 pulls on two different S ranks but swaping them before using the soul gems to get 8 for one character.
Thoose ticket are crap let's be honnest here. All season growth trials and zero yellow essence or stargaze as rewards. They just keep no giving a fuck about the issues of the game and continu to be a good overall game with terrible economic system. Will they stop make the game a cash grab at some point or just loosing more and more players bcz of that ? I hope so, but my hope keep falling ....

For who are those swap tickets? Whales don't need them as they Paragon every hero. Mid spenders pull almost every promising hero to s+. Light spenders and f2p think really hard before pull hero so chance of mistake is quite low. For who are this crap? Can you address this issue to developers? Lowering the requirement for faction talents is huge. Glad they changed it. 3x2 is pretty common for some good team comps. The Hero swap is way too restrictive. I doubt I will ever use them unless the hero you got in that season ends up a complete turd. Ah well.
two things i want to know about nara: -can she grapple enemies through allies or are they going to get stuck if there is no empty tile to drag through? -does she grapple a unit if none of them are symetrical? would be amazing if she can grapple enemies on maps where reinier can't

It looks good on paper, but they don't really release all that many heroes in a single season, unless they are gonna start doing double banners, in which case these swap tickets are pretty useless. If they were to allow to be used on newer characters but then use and old character as the sacrifice, I can see these being useful, saccing my outdated Marilee for a new meta A rank would be great, otherwise whales will just get the new unit S+ with EX 20 and steamroll everything regardless. I've played since launch and within one season I only managed to get 2 characters weapons to 15+
7-8 heroes, 2-3 of them probably A-tier. Plus let say the latest A-tier is released in the middle of season, you are stuck with it ascension forever.... Defenitely not worth accounting that item when building a hero.

So that already means 2 S ranks you cant use the ticket on, and 1 character for every 2 weeks of the season. Idk how long this season is going to be, I can only assume 4 months as well, so yeah, it's going to be around 8 - 10 characters per season, minus the 2 HypoCeles, 6-8 characters and then roughly half of those will be A ranks. Not a particularly huge pool to pick from.

But it's not evenly distributed, look at s1, we had 2 a-tier on the 7 heroes released, and they were released back to back before the middle of the season. And dunno why you group hypo/celest with the others, they aren't in the same banner and released independantly, nor concerned by the swap ticket.

I think the swapping card description just needs a clearer explanation. I don't think it actually means "only heroes released on the same season", i think it means that you can use it on new hero in in exchange for an old hero and vice versa. BUT you can't use it with two old heroes. Idk about two new heroes. ❤
new to old seem way too cheated. Since a rate-up hero is easy to ascend compared to one avaible in all-heroes/epic banners. So I doubt it will be in anyway possible. But I don't understand how a old to a new one isn't possible. That would be the main use of a swap item.
As a F2P I'm not sure I'll go for a A-level anyway. Probably one S S-level because powercreep will assure there'll be a staple in one of them. But A-levels have had very little impact on the meta atm. And it's easier to pull copies later on

i think ppl are really underselling the swap coupouns, so many decent but not great heros came out that i might have pulled on but decided to wait because something better might have come, that are now reasonable to pull with the swaps. ludovic's a great example you couldve pulled him gotten him like m+ or w/e and then lilly may comes out, with swaps ur fine and can get the hard meta, but for f2p's or low spenders who pulled ludovic this season they were just fucked. it basically means you have to be less selective with pulls if you really like a character, because you can always swap out of it if something better comes
No one is under selling the value of the swap tickets. They're just subjectively bad. For one they force you to expend resources for at least 1 A rank or S rank to supreme+ for that season. Then you have to hope that within that same season that there is a "must have or meta character" that is released to be able to swap to. Your gambling a crap ton of resources on a "what if?" On the other hand simply saving currency doing a little bit of research and waiting for the next "meta character" is completely free no gambling required and if there isn't any good characters this season then you still have your resources. But if you did spend resources with the intention of using the swap ticket and nothing good drops then your stuck with mid heroes that can can only be swapped with whatever was dropped in that season. Now what benefit other than testing out a hero do the tickets provide versus simply saving and spending only on must have characters. One way is totally free with no risk, while the other is a huge resource dump high risk choice.

Ludovic was one of my first instant regrets.
He is used in 0% of the game modes unless you run an M+ phraesto AND an S+ Talene in dream realm.

Yes you can only switch to character released within the same season
You can swap between A rank or S ranks that are released during this season.

new to old seem way too cheated. Since a rate-up hero is easy to ascend compared to one avaible in all-heroes/epic banners.
So I doubt it will be in anyway possible. But I don't understand how a old to a new one isn't possible. That would be the main use of a swap item.

As a F2P I'm not sure I'll go for a A-level anyway. Probably one S S-level because powercreep will assure there'll be a staple in one of them. But A-levels have had very little impact on the meta atm. And it's easier to pull copies later on
Swap is bad, like awful bad. Whales don't need it, dolphins don't need it, f2p - those who didn't look up meta don't care, cuz they play for fun and those who are meta players don't pull until like 1 week of release. #paidshill

i think ppl are really underselling the swap coupouns, so many decent but not great heros came out that i might have pulled on but decided to wait because something better might have come, that are now reasonable to pull with the swaps. ludovic's a great example you couldve pulled him gotten him like m+ or w/e and then lilly may comes out, with swaps ur fine and can get the hard meta, but for f2p's or low spenders who pulled ludovic this season they were just fucked.
it basically means you have to be less selective with pulls if you really like a character, because you can always swap out of it if something better comes
No one is under selling the value of the swap tickets. They're just subjectively bad. For one they force you to expend resources for at least 1 A rank or S rank to supreme+ for that season. Then you have to hope that within that same season that there is a "must have or meta character" that is released to be able to swap to. Your gambling a crap ton of resources on a "what if?" On the other hand simply saving currency doing a little bit of research and waiting for the next "meta character" is completely free no gambling required and if there isn't any good characters this season then you still have your resources. But if you did spend resources with the intention of using the swap ticket and nothing good drops then your stuck with mid heroes that can can only be swapped with whatever was dropped in that season. Now what benefit other than testing out a hero do the tickets provide versus simply saving and spending only on must have characters. One way is totally free with no risk, while the other is a huge resource dump high risk choice.

Folks saying the swapping ticket is useless are kinda greedy. Imagine if it will be able to swap to any old hero then the new season is doomed in terms of revenue. It is still a business after all.
