- Hello my friends! In todays video I wanted to share with you how I cured my night terrors as an adult. I did some EMDR and other therapy that helped heal some past trauma. This therapy has helped me sleep better and decrease my anxiety.

The scariest thing about a night terror isn’t even the sheer panic that washes over you, it’s that it happens for no explainable and/or apparent reason. I would wake up in the middle of a screaming fit and my confusion would scare me even more.
Omw! I thank God I also found the name of it, and it comforts me knowing there is a psychological explanation for this. However, I believe Jesus is the cure to it.
Such wonderful news!
As I was watching your description of your night terrors my 6yo son who was sitting next to me leaned over and said, "That's what happens to me." 🥺 That certainly explains why he doesn't like to go to sleep unless his daddy is snuggling him. 😔
In other news, I have heard such good things about EMDR. I am hoping to get to start seeing a new therapist soon and do EMDR to help heal some past trauma also.
Thats amazing, so happy you've found relief Aimee :) definitely interested in hearing more about this treatment.
And I feel you on the rest. 💕 I have a friend who tried this treatment and I’m considering it. This helped.
So thankful you have had a major breakthrough. 🙌
Thank you for being so open and honest.
I accidentally cured my nightmares and night terrors that had tormented me for 63 miserable years.
I was simply going to try "mouth-taping" to help with my dry throat.. reducing how much water I had to sip throughout the night.
I haven't had a nightmare since I have trained myself to use the tape.
Thank you #JamesNestor and
#PatrickMcKeown.. you two have saved my life.
I am 54 and have had night terrors since my teens. I had not had one for about 4 years and suddenly last weekend I had one. I figured out that I had gotten overly tired. My cat has been waking me up at night.
A recently found my best buddy unalive and the terrors I get soaked in sweat,am on diazapam for anxiety as it is so gonna give these vids a try
This is really interesting!! Organizing and reducing clutter had a profound effect. Who would have guessed? I heard that the anxiety and horror of factory farm animals can also be transferred to humans that eat them (due to absorption of stress hormones) and so a cruelty-free diet can help. Those with "leaky gut" may absorb more of the hormones. What do you think?
Can anyone answer the query raised about stress hormones here?
One cannot remember what happened in Night terror because it takes place in NRem sleep
I am 21 and living in really bad circumstances and cant escape my trauma for a long time because I live with it. Any things I can do that does not require money (my country doesnt help me with therapy)
Wow, good to hear some news!!
I got really angry at the dream demons and it never came back
Wow, that’s fantastic news! 🥳
Hi 👋. Aimee my name is Candice I had nightmares 2 and the only way I can defeat them is to take 🥊🥊 and it's working 🙏🏿🙏🏿. Thank you 😊🙏🏿
Wow your night terrors are so exciting 😂 mine are boring like robbers or house fires. I mean I'm not trying to make it sound like one big joke it does sound like a pretty serious ongoing problem for you.
Your video makes me feel less alone. I experience memory loss and have night terrors. I had no idea how rare it actually was for adults. I'm definitely taking your advice. Thank you🙏✌️😊
I take Temazapam for my night terrors. It is a game changer. If I don't take it I get a night terrors. Good luck!
When it's time to sleep I do get anxious mostly about how I would wake up and the pain in the night. I feel a heaviness and I'd had numbness everywhere.
How old were you when you first started getting night terrors
THEY CANT GO
Do you get night terrors now,
Hardly ever! 😀 Ill do another update soon! EMDR cured me 😭
🛏️🛏️🛏️,😴😴😯😯
This ₹&-#- don't know the birth month of her son. Lol
My son had night terrors from 8 months old to about 9 years. They were horrible sorry you have been going through that.
Hey Aimee, I stumbled upon your channel a few weeks ago, and I just love the way you talk about your chronic health issues. You are so joyful despite going through suffering, and I think that is beautiful. I have dysautonomia, gastroparesis, SIBO, GERD, and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. The EDS is the reason I’m commenting, because I’m just noticing that you have so many comorbidities for EDS, so I was just curious whether you’d looked into it? I just found out about mine really recently, and it is the uniting factor behind my constellation of symptoms. Anyway, I just thought I’d throw it out there in case you haven’t looked into it, but I bet you probably have. Anyway thanks for the joy you bring to the chronic illness community, it is SO refreshing.
Yes, I get this question a lot. I've never been tested for EDS. I have no stretchy skin, or hyper-mobility that often accompanies EDS, so my doctors don't believe i have it.
Therapy is a waste of money , don't go I'd you can do them things at home
Can you link the person who helped? I am 58 and mine are getting worse. I had two last night. I never heard or knew anyone else having them, except my brother.
I have had night terrors all my life. When I was younger they just said I had big imagination. Then they said I was just a sleep walker and talker. This carried on until adulthood. Night terrors I have are similar to yours... snakes, spiders, people, monsters or just growing darkness. I tried to climb out windows... I sometimes see my partners face turn into something else.. I scream allot wake him up and sometimes even hit him never too seriously but I wake him up multiple times a night. I used to sleep with a dog in my bed and that made it much worse as if she moved it would trigger it and I would try to grab my dog thinking it's not her. I would run turn the light on in the room and just then wake up fully...
I am very anxious in general and I suffered with this allot. So I believe its linked to this. Its becoming very hard as my partner gets very annoyed now at me when I do this and I always feel stressed to sleep in case if I do things which makes it worse...
I tried sleep pills I keep my room minimalistic to not have shadows or things out of place that can scare me. I sleep with ear plugs and a mask most of the time... I can not do therapy as it stresses me more... I do not know what to do.
Thank you Amy I always find your videos serve as a pillar of strength for me .❤🎉
Hey Aimee, just saw this, Great video, may i ask are you still cured?
Last night i had my worst ever night terrror, put my hand through a window, very scared, need them to go away after a couple of decades of them!
Yes! I still hardly ever get night terrors! I have anxiety at night, but it's not near as bad as it was a few years ago.
I am SO sorry you are getting night terrors. They are so scary!!! :'(
@@Aimee_Esther wowsers, thanks for the speedy reply, really appreciate that. Im gonna look into the thing u suggested then, seems a no brainer not to
Thanks again!
My sister has them. They sound awful
Thank you! This gives me hope!
I need to do a full update because I've been in MEDR therapy for almost 2 years now and I can happily say that my night terrors are 95% gone! It's a miracle! 😭 I'm still doing the therapy twice a month but mostly for maintenance now. It was a tough start but got so much better now! ❤️❤️ Hoping you find the help you need!
Great. So what do you recommend as a course of action to a single man living with new flat mates? My night terrors can be destructive and unpredictable. Any tips on how I might explain this to a potential partner without scaring them off?
Thank you so much for explaining this. It’s really helpful for my own personal experience. I am full of a little more hope now.
Aimee thank you for sharing 💕
You are so welcome!
