he's really good! I watch so much dramas so I figured out woo young's boss's agenda early, but i always think a character is sus in wrong 50% of the time 😄
The power of K-drama is sometimes you can totally see the storyline and where it's going and yet still make you want to watch. I'm impressed how this author unfolds the life story of Attorney Woo through the court cases while the court cases themselves are interesting. There was a time when all K-dramas had basically the same story with different occupation of the main characters and they were still making people hooked on them. Now they evolved into the next level. Btw, a little fun fact: After the drama got popular, the tree in this episode has drawn lots of people to the town and the local government sought to designate the tree as the national or regional monument, but the people living in the town are opposing it. Thanks for your great reactions!!! Again, all the suggestions below are great, BUT I really think it's time for a historical drama. Mr. Sunshine, please, PRETTY PLEASE!!!
@@chloe-kh3oe I didn't look into it and this is just my guess. The local people probably think that because of the tree, they will lose any chance of big development and make the town crowded. I'm sure they have their own good reasons to oppose.

In this episode, I didn't really judge/blame Tae Sumi for anything. She got pregnant & wanted to abort, which is her right. She knew she didn't want the baby. The father got on his knees & begged bc HE WANTED the baby, so he made a deal with her - basically please carry & give birth & I'll raise the child & you never have to deal with us. Tae Sumi gave him what he wanted, at great sacrifice to herself (since I imagine having to tell her family what happened, take time off school, stay home for a year, be pregnant, give birth, etc ALL were probably very difficult for her to go through physically, mentally, emotionally). It's almost like she was a surrogate. She didn't have to give birth & give her to him. She could've & would've aborted. But she did it for him & stayed away. My husband & I were both quite sympathetic to her (watching this episode at least.) We also give mad respect to the dad for wanting to raise Young-woo by himself & doing an incredible job all alone, giving up his law career & all.
@@Boapavedtheway well, I don't think the dad was selfish either. Yes, he clearly wanted what he wanted & he was asking Tae Sumi for a lot, but he clearly loves his unborn child & was willing to sacrifice everything just for a chance to have & raise her, if Tae Sumi was willing to give him what he wanted. They made a deal - I just don't see Tae Sumi as someone who "abandoned" her child bc it's not like she had the baby with the intention of being a mom, then left the baby when it got too hard or something. She never intended on being a mom, at this point of her life & would've had an abortion, which is her right. I just see her like a surrogate who carried a baby to term for the dad & the dad almost like someone who adopted that baby.
The Tae Sumi and YoungWoo's dad situation is a sticky one. Because we see the show from YoungWoo's perspective, of course we will see Tae Sumi in a darker light because she did abandon her daughter. BUT Tae Sumi also was in a terribly difficult situation. She's from a high profile mega rich family and she was pregnant in law school. She could have just had the abortion, but I think it kinda shows she still cared for YoungWoo's dad enough to have the baby even if she never spoke to him again. She most likely had the pressure of her parents, but this is the best she could do at the time. TBH, I don't know if I would have done it if I was in her situation. I'll give her props even if she's a grey character. Loved this reaction!! Y'all are too funny.
YESS I love how every character in this series has both sides and are complicated. I totally understand Tae Sumi expecially if you consider how important reputation is in Korea let alone she's from a high profile family.
if you reverse the genders and tae su mi was the father she will look like the typical rich, irresponsible douchebag who abandons their kids, which is a typical troupe in dramas which is personally i have never seen taken in a good light.
I empathize with how Young-woo feels betrayed and like she has to side with her dad. Tae Su-mi didn't judge her for being autistic or even try to use her for personal revenge like CEO Han, she just saw her as a good attorney who was valuable enough to recruit personally. But then Young-woo found out that she was her mom and (in her eyes) didn't value her enough as her own child not to abandon her. Young-woo grew up feeling different for not having a mom, seeing how hard it was for her dad as a single parent, and believing that her mom ran off and abandoned the both of them. But Tae Su-mi's choice makes sense given the context of Korean culture, and I think the audience is meant to sympathize with her. SK is a pretty conservative and misogynistic culture, and having a child outside of marriage is heavily stigmatized. Coming from a rich, influential family where disagreeing with their plan for her might mean getting kicked out with nothing, Tae Su-mi probably had to really stand firm just to have her baby and give it up in secret. So up to this point, I don't blame her for what she did. It's the choices she makes later, now that she's where her parents were 25 years ago and has a lot to lose, that I take issue with. I think she spent her life pretending that it never happened, so she never dealt with the trauma. And now all she knows to do is to make the problem disappear. But that's what makes the finale so amazing.
That part showing them the scene in the rain was so painful lol. When be played with violin in the same it's like someone's playing music to someone digging their own grave lol
There's a deleted scene from episode 8 that explains why the CEOs of Hanbada and Taesan hate each other. The show doesn't explain it anywhere else. It's a video called "Deleted Scene: Mountain VS Ocean".
For those saying Young Woo was out of character in ep 14 for suddenly talking about the case during the sad scene (not giving spoiler but I'm sure those who have finished watching the drama know the scene I'm talking about) can see now that she was in fact in character judging from how she switched to work mode while her dad was talking about the mom in the hospital. The thing is we missed lots of details in these earlier episodes that we didn't understand why some things happened in the later episodes. Another little detail that we somehow missed but would be important for you guys in the coming episodes is that Young Woo doesn't tell anyone when her autism is used against her. Just as it's shown in ep 3 that she resigned and didn't tell anyone why, not even to her dad. If Jun Ho hadn't asked calmly in that perfect environment, she wouldn't have told him too. Great reaction by the way guys. This is the first time I will comment on RUclips and it's cos you guys are just good at what you do. Looking forward to the next episodes ♥️
As one of the below comments mentioned, Hanbada means a great sea, and Taesan refers to a huge mountain in Korean. I guess Young-woo cannot survive in Taesan because she loves whales. The writer seemed to purposely name each law firm to represent the conflict regarding Young-woo's birth. Hanbada will be a good place for her (and her best friend, whales) to live like being around her dad. Whales can't live in mountains, so can't she either. So, Hanbada stands for her father while Taesan means her mother.
And also the place where Tae sumi and YW met is the Hackberry tree right? that tree grows only on the boundary between the sea and the mountains. so it's the only place where Youngwoo and Taesumi could meet peacefully. Since Tae sumi represents ⛰️ and Hanbada represents 🌊 it's a hidden message ! What a Crazy detail right?!
Fun fact : Hanbada means big ocean and Taesan means mountain. Hence the blue vs red umbrellas . Also its based on two actual rival companies in korea. Glad that you guys catched the blue shirt and red umbrella

This episode... when I tell you I was screaming this whole episode is especially the scene when Woo confronts her mom I can't even explain all the emotions I felt in that scene. I really like a kdrama called Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, I think you'll be interested in it and I know your reactions to the show would be hilarious, hope you check it out
I love your whale hats.
Her Grandfather started the law firm her Mom works/in charge of for so she could work there.
The umbrella was a dark pink, without a doubt.....😀
Been watching since squid games reactions, love your reactions and the new intro. If you're liking this you might like hometown cha cha cha, it's a romantic drama with this kind of vibe. Also The Little Women, it's a drama, intrigue, thriller type show. And thanks for making me laugh after a long day x
