Dorasuke P so true! to think that he barely train fencing for the past five years. just imagine if he had train for the past five years. maybe he has a chane to beat the gold medalist. afterall he was a medalist before. ❤❤
Before watching this I didn't really realize how much of a sacrifice Jackson did in giving up fencing, i thought that yeah, he gave up a great future, but I didn't realize how much he loved fencing until I saw this episode, he practically glowed. But can you imagine having the courage to do what he did, giving up a stable and bright future, disappointing your country and parents and the people who had helped you to get this far, giving up something that is sure and you're actually good at to do something completely out of your wheelhouse, to start at the bottom again and without the certainty that you'll bve good or succeed.
Leah Curran fencing isn't that stable either. Sports esp at Olympic level gets super competitive and the expiration date may be even earlier than a celebrity. Even if got7 disbands at this point China would gladly have him part of their entertainment. It does feel like a waste to let go of the dream after practicing all those years though.
Leah Curran but me, as an athlete in HK I think he better be an idol like now because being an athlete isn't easy in Hong Kong and cannot earn much .. maybe i can say that the hk government didn't put in enough resources for sports. So I am glad that Jackson is an idol in Korea now and receiving lots of love from igot7😊😊
Jackson is the type of person that you thought he just a silly guy that always bluffing and act silly but actually has a really amazing talent. He will turned to absolutely like a different person in two situation. One, on the stage. Second, during fencing. As igot7, I'm sorry for him because he giving up his career in fencing to chase his dream. At the same time I really thankful for him to be Got7. Thank you, Jackson. We love you
I don't think we should feel sorry for Jackson because he chose to leave fencing to become an idol it's what he wanted to do, he's already said in an interview and at GOT7 Seoul concert he doesn't like people saying things like that because he's happy being in GOT7.
Iliyana Ahmad I 100% Agree with you. Some People seem Jackson is the person who always be overexcited so he cant get most of the things done. But he actually have so many talents that I am suprised.. Not suprised he does im suprised he doesn't show it often
well being and idol was his biggest dream not fencing. fencing makes bad money even if you're a medalist. he's an idol now which means he makes more. he debut under the big 3 so he gets paid unlike small company idols. giving up fencing was good in every way. being an olympic athlete in china is just like a slave. i don't think he gave up much considering he now has both dreams and success.
@@Viewer13128 not true. He can represent China in fencing. If he win gold medal he will get an income from China forever. Also if he win Olympic medal he can be a coach and teach in China.
+Meklavier Are u sure the "income" China pays them is good? I think it will just be a normal life. And that is only if u win gold medal... Not worth it at all. The chance of making it as an idol is higher than being gold medalist statistically speaking. Even if u are the best, u can still lose the gold medal. Olympics is also 4 years apart so too risky in addition.
Azu Shi When you debut as an idol you don’t make much money, a big percentage goes back to the company and not to mention the group’s income is divided by the members. He did sacrifice a lot, leaving his family and country is a very brave thing to do.
Jackson still got it. I wish he trains again during his free time. He needs a hobby given his schedule. Apart from performing, fencing is his other true love. His joy transcends the screen. I can feel how much he missed fencing.

I'm legitimately pissed they didn't add this part in the full episode. Wtf producers? This was the best part that showcased Jackson's fencing skills and you chose to cut it out? Fencing was the one thing Jackson could feel proud of and y'all made him look bad in the fencing episode.
Feel sad lol I think because the Korea fencer lose but he is the representative of Korea but Jackson are not Korea representative therefore they cut Jackson won this part
Cyanide Pandemonium Im confused too at first but realize later that Jackson won asian championship when he was only 17 represent HK China yet after 6 yrs he still had it, so.... shhh..😀😀
I think Jackson won the other fencing game too. Because Bambam added 4 points, and theoreticaly those 4 points equal 0. So Jackson won the other game indirectly.
We all got to see him as an idol, an artist, but this is the first time I've seen this side of him and he really glowed. I'm so glad he got the chance to fence again and I can really feel how much he loved it. It really must have took him so much courage to put it all down and start again from zero to train to be an artist and it pains my heart but at the same time I'm glad he manage to build a new stage for himself. I'm so thankful and proud of him. He always bring so much joy and laughter to us but I love to see the serious side of him enjoying the things he love.
