Thanks for the honest positive and critical feedback! Would love your thoughts on our ACC live overlay and cars/tracks where we have an onboard linked to the data :)
Could you clarify how that onboard footage is generated? Is it using telemetry to generate the video or is it actually uploading replay files from the local computer to the server? It is expected that such a service will send telemetry (either listening to UDP or accessing specific parts of memory) to the server but uploading files from the client to the server would be a completely different situation and a major concern in terms of security (if the TT client can send files and not just network traffic from my computer to the server, nothing prevents the client from sending any other file, either on purpose or if it gets hacked).
@ Hey Sam, the onboard footage is either based on pure telemetry, replay files or screen recordings depending on who it comes from (e.g. the Hymo drivers sometimes just directly upload a screen recorded lap). We never record a user’s screen. Regarding the usage of files vs. network data: Every telemetry/coaching application for iRacing must actually use some files to fully work, specifically the ibt file. The same goes for auto-installing and updating setups. Rest assured that this stuff is handled at enterprise grade security on our side as we use secure AWS services and Electron for our Desktop App. Any further questions, let us know!
I use trophy AI, it helped alot when learning new tracks you get Quick faster. I always tend to break a little early and it helped train that out of me. I always thought I was hitting the markers but I was early enough that I was losing time on corner entry, then I found I was stugling to get round the corner due to the later breaking so had to work on my trail breaking more. Turns out I was turning in to much and too late. You get the idea, 8 think it's a great tool for begginer and intermediate drivers but not so much when your already quick
I'm going to be a nerd here for a second. None of these including trophy AI are actually artificial intelligence. Instead of using a transformer model, it's just a series of complex algorithms with if then statements. It record you doing a couple of laps, then continues to record you as it tries to give you suggestions on how what you should do in a corner or what you did in a corner should change to get closer to the ideal telemetry. it has a lot of advantages but I will say as a rookie I found the voice AI completely overwhelming. It would say things like break 15 m earlier but since I'm new I'm over here screaming at it "15 m earlier than what?" Altogether I've been using it for about 3 months on and off and at least at this point it actually makes me slower and takes me longer to learn the track then just going slow, planning up my line, and then learning effective breaking points, turn in points, and throttle points. Then slowly making adjustments to get faster. The last thing I'll say and I'm not positive about this but I don't think that it accounts for the totality of your telemetry. By that I mean that your brake trace needs to be adjusted based on your entry speed into the corner and I don't know that it accounts for that properly. I'm not a pro and I'm not caring as much speed as the pros do so my breaking point should be a little bit later since I'm going slower typically.
Well AI are just tools to look at and may give us some ideas to look at, but to me for doing SIM racing, it only comes down to PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE - To learn the tracks and cars that we want to drive in the games. We really have to look at what are the actual fast lap times of other good racers and then see where I am losing my times on a particular track. If the game has a ghost chase car that shows our best lap or someone else's best lap, I use that tool to be able to push myself to get better and see if I can challenge the record times on a track. The F1 games have that kind of feature. Usually done in the time trial sections of the games. No AI tool is going to teach you how to drive in each game. They are interesting tools.
I am a rookie and used trophie ai for some month. Turned off ai because it was overhelming. The shown overvlay of a pro driver telemetry while on track on the other hand is great. Until now I did not find another way of learning new tracks that fast. Mising this on lmu and thinking about returning to expensive iracing because of this.
For Track Titan, you can tell the client to stop recording (right click, Stop Recording). I really like their telemetry viewer, it is, I think, the best out there. The AI part... Well, AI is a broad and unclear term, Doom 1 had "AI", and, while I haven't seen their code, I believe Track Titan AI is the Doom type of AI rather than the modern "model based" AI. Nothing wrong with it, but be aware that it is more of a "if you see this, say that" rather than the modern definition of AI. I found the AI part mostly useless. Partially because the telemetry viewer is so good, it is easy to figure out what you are doing wrong. But also because it analyses sectors one at a time so it lacks context, leading to absurd suggestions, and even within a sector, I found many suggestions to be plain wrong. Where it gets "bad" is the recording. On ACC, as an example, the first sector is always wrong due to an offset issue, on AC1, TT does not differentiate between sessions and replays, on iRacing, any "ghost/watching" session pollutes your sessions list with 0:00 lap times. I asked for a feature that would at least allow to delete laps but haven't heard back from them. I would recommend TT for the excellent telemetry viewer, it is great, but for everything else, I would pass. I am also slightly confused by their request to save replays of your laps, which could possibly mean that, on top of telemetry, they are also uploading files from your computer, which would be extremely dodgy.
@@SamToulouse Good feedback, thanks! Regarding replays: We ask that so you can then win points which gets you free setups, etc. Since that replay can help others improve, we want you to get a reward for it.
@@TrackTitan My question is: Do you upload files from my computer using the TT client or are you using another method? If you are using telemetry data to create a replay, it is perfectly fine, it is expected and, by installing the TT client, I knew and agreed that some telemetry would be uploaded to your servers, but since you ask for the replay to be saved, I strongly suspect that you are actually uploading files from my computer which would be a major concern for me so if it is what you are doing, is there any way to opt out? If not, please implement one urgently since I am not comfortable at all with using an app that uploads files from my hard drive to a server, especially since I do not remember being informed of that behaviour.
@@SamToulouse Hi Sam, correct, the client can upload replay files as per our terms and conditions. You can switch off any data collection/recording when you toggle the "Stop recording" desktop app settings.
Another thing is that the best laps would logically have the best setups and the best conditions. If you compare to that with different wing angles or higher track temps, some corner speeds will just be impossible to replicate...
@@OverTake_gg Maybe it's also an idea to measure performance based on how much the tyres are scrubbing. Then you could sort of tune the performance with the material provided to you. Maybe it could be expanded to setup suggestions as well.
The thing that bugs me about Trophi(dot)AI is that they've added support for Rocket League before adding support for the original Assetto Corsa . . . I find that very telling.
I use AI in a different way. I build a setup and then tell chatgpt it's a race engineer. I then treat it exactly like that, do a stint, provide feedback and my engineer tells me how to improve the setup.
Love this, not to mention I live 5 mins away from the Track you’re driving on, 😮
This video is great! I love the objectiveness of these analysis of each app vs just the lazy "AI is great" chill.
Some say Emily is actually SophyAI and that she eats microchips with with her burgers. All we know is she's fast AF.
Is that because the girl is faster than you lol
@@Karim-karim-karimshe’s kicked my arse a few times in iRacing, nothing but respect for her.
