    As a landowner in central Virginia I thoroughly enjoyed and learned about evasive species that will help me as I try to improve my farm. Thank you for putting this video together and posting on RUclips.

    Consider installing a Screech Owl nest box. Owls eat rodents which host ticks and attract pit vipers.

    Awesome vid guys. Do you have any good resources to identify trees?

      The seek app is pretty good. You can also find state specific books. Although there are many outliers generally learning your most common species is pretty easy. Start with ID first.

    Hey, guys, what and how are you mixing your basal sprays?

    • @native_landscapes
      @native_landscapes  10 месяцев назад +1

      triclopyr ester, diesel, oil soluble forestry dye. 10-20% chem to carrier by volume depending on species and time of year.

    Like what yall are doing, but that "tree of heaven" you broke the top off of looked like a sumac to me. I stump cut em and the deer hammer the re growth.

      3:18 I believe their identification was correct. Sumac has the bud completely surrounded by the leaf scar. Tree of heaven has the bud at the top of the heart shaped leaf scar.

      They are similar in appearance, use the sniff test or check the leaves in the growing season. Don’t want to make the mistake of letting TOH spread.

      Sumac is a fantastic native loved by many types of wildlife.
