      @kam_7250 Why you saying sorry for bad hotels? This happens everywhere in the world, moreover they try to cut corners, it is simple you get what you pay for. No one gives a damn about Indian experience in the West in fact we are looked down upon, not complaining, just saying.

    • @EllisWR
      @EllisWR  9 месяцев назад +2

      @@pradym2497 It doesn't happen everywhere in the world, in the rest of Asia 1000-1500 rupees gets you a beautiful clean room with WiFi and AC, the standard in India is extremely low and that's OK, needs to improve

    • @pradym2497
      @pradym2497 9 месяцев назад

      @@EllisWR I am afraid you are very unlikely to get 10 years old rate in that price bracket in India anymore as the economy is booming and hotels are getting bookings round the year. You have to shell out more for better comfort and amenities or may have to improve your research to get such a hotel for that price range.

    Hi Ellis, major Indian train stations (like Dindigul) have electronic display boards hanging from the roof of the platform indicating coach positions from the engine. Maybe you were unaware @ 6:10. If you hold a reserved ticket it has the details of your coach and seat number with which you can roughly position yourself for a train's arrival on a platform. In some stations, announcements are made over the public address system before a train arrives to indicate which coach is where. Get into any coach in case you find yourself at the wrong end and have to walk a long distance to reach your coach. If the train starts in between, it can be very dangerous to board it thereafter. Almost all express trains have vestibules to walk across from one coach to the next, which you can do, if you did not get into yours in the first place. Hope this helps. Enjoy our Incredible India...! Very engaging to watch your videos. BTW, SR is for Southern Railways and UR is for Unreserved (2nd Class sitting).

    You can call the train ticket examiner in the coach usually he may manage 3 to 4 coaches, else message your seat space PNR number in an SMS to 139 and you'll immediately get assistance and justice at least at the next stop. Also you can inform if you have trouble with the toilet, not water, cleanliness issues or someone occupying your seat to the same number

    The Scottish accent of yours, makes the trip somewhat interesting for me especially in regards to this spectacular tour of yours in the heartland of Tamil Nadu. Both of you have truly blended in like the natives eating curries,idlis,dosas,porattas,vadais,aappem,ponggal,Biryanis on banana leaves. I would suggest you guys try fish curry dishes next. Kanyakumari is well known for its seafood dishes.

      I can see why this comment didn't get a like from them, you just called an Englishman's accent as "Scottish". Don't ya know he's from Blackburn? lol

      @yut-his-d-king5685 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@JayandSarahSounded Scottish to me, though. Didn't know it could be an insult. I thought Scotland and England still in the same country. All speak English right?

    • @JayandSarah
      @JayandSarah 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@yut-his-d-king5685 well, they may not actually be insulted, but people from the UK can take their identity very seriously and distinct. It was a bit of a joke. Having said that...
      Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England form the UK, they are essentially countries in their own right within the UK, with their own capitals, parliament etc.
      People from Scotland identify as Scottish, not English. English is for people from England. Welsh from Wales. Nobody would identify as being UK'ish. The UK is the collective group of countries in the Kingdom. For economic purposes, the UK is listed as the "country".
      That's why when people ask where they are from, Ellis replies "England". These days lots of people might just say "I'm from the UK", but if someone tells you they are from England, it tells you very specifically what they identify with. Hope that is some good information for you! Have a great day!!!!
