Back to your basic woodworking how tos and tutorials! Thank you April for this project. I am still working on the chicken coop and run project. Should be done in a few more weekends. Plan to start this outdoor chair project X 4 once I complete the coop and the girls settle into their new home. This is the kind of woodworking project that teaches basic skills and makes for great outdoor chairs!
Thanks for the amazing tutorial for this chair! And thanks for mentioning dyslexia, and the steps you do to help mitigate any issues. It is a treat to have accessible tutorials from someone who gets it!
April I am always enamored by your passion for your projects. I am sure that you are an inspiration to many viewers who lacked confidence before watching your clear explanations of your projects. Keep up the good work and keep on saving people one build at a time.💙💙💙
@AprilWilkerson thanks for the lesson! I've been trying to start my own woodworking business repurposing and refurbishing items to keep them out of the landfill. I have been stockpiling cut offs from 4x4's knowing I'd find a use...thanks to you I have!
April, I don't know where to begin. You provided so many tips and tricks in this video build of this Modern Chair. I just love the looks of it. Thanks for sharing the info on the Specialist Dry Lube 🥰🏆👍🏻
Good morning, April! Now, THIS looks like a super comfortable chair. I just may try this project. We'll see what the future brings! Thanks for sharing another great video. God bless.
Thanks so much, April. I've been feeling kinda bad about my woodworking lately because I don't make big, fancy-a** furniture. This looks fun, pleasing to the eye, incredibly functional, and just might be my way out of my slump. And Memaw can get up out of it. Cypress is plentiful and cheap where I live and I'm a fan for outdoor projects. Thanks again. I'm all in. 😁
Another excellent project/video as always. This may be the wrong place for this but…. April, I have been watching your channel since the beginning and watched the tv show you were in. And although I don’t know you personally, I feel as though I do a bit through your videos and knowledge you share. I’ve lived in Texas twice and my daughter was born there so Texas has a special place in my heart. I don’t know where you live in Texas in relation to the fires that are in Texas but my thoughts and prayers go out to you and yours and the other residents of Texas. I hope everyone stays safe. Ron
Thank you for your kind words. The horrible fires are in the Panhandle of Texas and we are in Central Texas, in the Hill Country. Thanks for watching and being so supportive.
Excelente mueble miss April, te quedó excelente 👍🙏 yo aré uno de metal todo desarmable, sigues en la perfección de tus muebles de madera un abrazo fuerte a distancia
Hello April, Interesting suggestion of using the WD-40. I always know that it can reduce static or frictions from the machines such as saw dust buildups. I used that product to eliminate the wear ness best of all is to lubricate the bearings and keeping it from grinding. Let me know if I'm wrong for doing that. 😂 LOL I thought I could use the WD 40 to lubricate my joints and keep my bones from creekings.
I like this design. I’m working on building a large 3D Printed chair for fun and your design seems a lot better than what I was planning. Mind if I borrow from yours and reference it in my video?
I love all ur crestions and ideas,my question is how can a person be confident in building stuffs without relying on social media to get plans, what should we do?
Especially when starting out, I researched every project beforehand to understand the steps and be ready for what's ahead. Start small and build your confidence and your experience with each project. Learn from your mistakes rather than get discouraged. You can do anything you set your mind to. Enjoy the build and relish the accomplishment. Thanks for watching.
Love the chair build! I have a question about outdoor wood projects. Do you always need to use glue for them? I built a plant shelf for some friends of mine but didn’t use glue on the side supports just screws. Now I am wondering with expanding and contracting over time the supports will pull part making the shelf loose.
Really great as usual I'm from the UK but the tools and materials are so out of people's league how can ordinary working people afford these materials l and the tools it's a shame but it's seems April and her website have forgotten normal working people and what they can afford .
The idea is to show the design, if you can’t figure out how to do the same job with the tools you have, you were never going to be able to make this in the first place…..
Handsaws. Drills and sandpaper. You can accomplish the same. If you put your mind to it.. ive had 4 strokes. A triple bypass . Cant use left arm much. Does this mean since i dont have 2 good arms and to good legs.. that i cant build things?
I still Post videos, just not as often for now. Stay tuned though. Just busy doing other things that need attention but planning great things coming up.
I really like your patio chair design April! In fact, so much that I just purchased the plans already. I want to make a pair of them for my Mom's backyard. I think it will make a nice Mother's Day Present for her. However, I do have a question for you. Do you have a link for the cushions you used April? I did not see them listed in the video description below or in the downloaded plans. Thanks!
I didn't always have what I have now. I started buying my 1st tools from yard sales and pawn shops, buying only the tool I needed then saved for the next one. As my tool collection, experience and confidence grew my skill level improved as I learned from any mistakes. Don't quit and you can do anything you set your mind to do! Enjoy the process!
Don't get hang up on people's video who have and uses fancy and expensive tools. You just need a few basic tools. I started with Craftsman's tools. Your passion to woodworking is your best tool. Don't believe me. Watch some videos third world countries of woodworkers building and making things with minimum tools. Also, watch Norm Abrams videos you can learn a lot from him.

Yep! I love my workbench! Thanks for watching.
Feeling inspired to get out and get our backyard warm-weather-ready after watching this!
Awesome! Thanks for watching.
What a wonderful modern take on the Adirondack chair. I love the smaller builds you do. Such ingenuity and great design.
Thank you very much!

@AprilWilkerson the lube you used...does it leave a stain or residue on the wood?

Great project design April! The black accents X is really a nice touch!
Very cool! The bevel tip and technique is money$$ and you made your own plugs to hide the screws🤙🏾💯. April I really like you! Thanks for sharing...
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
Awesome job April! 😃👍🏼👊🏼 ... The addition of the ✖️ really takes the look of the chair up a notch!
Yes it does! I really like that addition. Thanks for always watching.

Now this is something some amateur person like me could attempt with basic enough tools.
You're a rockstar 😎💪🏻
Nah, but thanks for the compliment and thanks for watching.
Wie immer ein klasse Ergebnis. Liebe Grüße aus Deutschland !!🤠
Thank you so much! Warm greetings from Texas!
Great job. Thank you 😊

I like that design, and elegant, yet simplistic chair. Though I will make mine a little taller :)

As a side note, you can remove the tags from the cushions, I doubt anyone here will squeal on ya...
The law only applies to the seller. The consumer can cut away and show no mercy
Hola April , me encantan tus trabajos , muy bien explicado, gracias por tu aporte e aprendido mucho de ti ...saludos de Chile
Hi April good project I'm used to seeing videos sunday's but we know your really busy ❤
Thank you for watching and greetings from Texas!
Good job April love your project I was wondering what size screws should I use for 2x4

Very nice! 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you very much!
@@AprilWilkerson You are a very welcome! Is it possible that there is an adjustment seat and the back part?
Do you have a video corse recommendation for women beginners?
How did you figure out the angle of the seat? Eyeball?
Big thanks to WD40 for collecting all the dust and jamming everything up 😂
That type of WD40 dries quick and does NOT attract sawdust.
Mighty brave of you to assume my 2 leg assemblies would sit evenly on the ground.
As a Woodworker, you measure carefully. :) Thanks for watching.
Awesome project. Any reason the chair couldn’t be widened to create a loveseat or couch? Thinking of making a full set.
It certainly could! Thanks for watching.
Are you around where the fires are burning?
The terrible fires are up in the Panhandle. I am in Central Texas. Thank you for caring and for watching.
Awesome chair. Can you provide a link to the cushions? Thanks!
I got them at At Home. Thanks for watching.
Thanks April!@@AprilWilkerson

you could basically do this entire build with a circular saw and a drill.
Weres april gone no videos i gpt withdrawal symptoms 😢

I see you replied to some German and Spanish comments. Do you speak those languages or did someone translate for you?
My guess would be "Google translate". 🙂
Yep! :)
I use Google Translate. :) Thanks for watching.
wow thats a lot of wood for 1 chair. thing must weigh 50 pounds
Doesn’t look that comfortable.
It really is, but I'm here actually in it. :) Thanks for watching.
Any new videos?
How do you deal with all the oil on your lumber?
Awesome. Something about this chair makes me want to sit on a porch with a long island ice tea. 😊
