Honestly, this deserved to win, my favourite that year, no doubt. Keep sending amazing songs, France. I'm looking forward to Paris 2021. Huge hug from Portugal.
First time I listed to the song, because I know some French,I couldn't help crying... it happened before I even realised . It would definitely deserve the 1st place.
The greatest beauty of this song is its melody. Accompanied by a soft, sweet, yet haunting sound and a powerful message, I have quickly grown to like it a lot! France has an enduring habit of singing in French, so it comes as no surprise that they've done it again -- the language also has a strong international presence, so it's not as risky to do it. But I'll commend them for it anyway...every language has its own magic, and the magic of French is a perfect match here. Good luck, France! 🇫🇷🇺🇸
Kharoda oooooh thank you very much, you're from USA so it's meaningful haha I'm French and I can confirm, this song is just a masterpiece! And yes, we're proud of our language and we fight for it 😂
Josefa C. You're very welcome! It can be difficult and lonely being a Eurovision fan over here, but songs like this make it worth it! I have a quite a bit of experience with French, actually, so I totally agree when you say this is a masterpiece. It's honestly so great that you always send your language. Languages are beautiful, so keep fighting!
Kharoda yes, I can imagine easily how you been about beeing a "lonely Eurovision fan", since your country is not a part of it, and Europe is so far away! And until Amir success, who ended up on the top 10 two years ago, French people weren't into Eurovision, because we kept sending bad songs, because we didn't mind about winning or losing but now it has changed, we send better songs, French people can vote for the song that we will present and now, we even expect so much from our entry! I am one of them so since last year I follow Eurovision and discover some jewels! But no offense for English but I have a high preference for ESC songs that aren't in English, because I think English ruins it (I don't talk about UK or Ireland, of course), it breaks the diversity concept under a same language that we hear everywhere, it's a pity! But in France, we fought against English to protect our singers and our language, that's why most of our Eurovision songs are in French and I love that, mostly when the songs are well written!
As a french woman, I like songs in french... but aso in russian, german, czech... it's a pity that they all sing in english... different languges change songs harmony... subtitles in english could be enough to be understood!
AAM Karine I agree...I listen to songs in very many languages, and different languages have different powers. Even not understanding them can be a beautiful thing, because that makes you focus on the sounds, which are unique! France and Italy have always been stubborn about singing in their own languages, and this year countries like Hungary and Armenia and Spain and Albania are doing the same. I hear also that Lithuania will be performing a bilingual version of their song, which is an excellent way to get your meaning across to a larger group of people. So, we can only hope more countries decide to take one of those two paths! I'm looking forward to the future.
In all honesty, I already reacted. But ... I heard the song this morning in my car on Belgian (Flemish) Radio, it made me somehow stop in my tracks ... Simply Beautiful ... you've got my vote!!!

Clever video and beautiful song! Good luck France ♥
SURRENDER YOUR COUNTRY. SURRENDER YOU FUTURE.
You don’t need to speak French to let this song get in your heart and soul. Bravo Madame Monsieur - this song goes down in Eurovision history.
Kharoda oooooh thank you very much, you're from USA so it's meaningful haha
I'm French and I can confirm, this song is just a masterpiece!
W VE thanks and good luck to Belgium 🇧🇪. You have an amazing song too
One of the big potential winners in my opinion

J'ai aimé la première fois que je l'ai entendu, c'est mon préféré et il serait injuste que la France ne gagne pas cette année. Paris 2019
