I think I would have been happier in an alternate timeline where graphics reached a point where they were just left at less-than-64-bits, and as the space on discs and drives kept growing, studios focused on adding greater interactivity and more complicated narratives in their stories and worlds.
WOW, this takes me to a world where Oblivion was just as complex and awesome as Daggerfall, and PC gaming was stuck in an era, where content was the main selling point instead of graphics. It shows that you have spent lot of time and blood on this! Well done bro!
Well, in a way, I'd say Oblivion was also heavily sold on graphics. The game is not very deep, but for its time it was a sight to behold. I still remember being a young teen, and seeing just how expansive the physics were - in an age where most games didn't have ragdolls or physics beyond a couple of boxes in a room - really blew me away. It honestly makes me sad that big games stopped selling themselves on their physics capabilities.
Brilliant work! It was amazing how much you made the synth sound like a church organ in places! The ending pixel art was a beautiful homage to the main quest! Martin Septim would be proud!
Well of course friend. In fact I remember your request (you were the first), and that of other people about this same song, and you see that I complied 😃. Thank you very much for your comment.
I was fixed by it and the artwork. Sounds so much more sad than the original that has the more carefree feel to it. Yours is much more tragic and it honestly is much better because of it. It stirred something in my soul and kept me listening to the end, fixed in place.
😅 I didn't expect to cause that feeling, but you're right anyway. At a certain point I came to consider that it is a little more tragic. I based it on the title of the song and what it inspires, "Peace Of Akatosh". I interpret it as the final rest, after the course of the main Oblivion adventure, which covers the entire scenario illustrated here. Thank you very much for your inspiring comment 😌
There’s something about this that completely unsettles me, but in a good way as great art should. I guess it means it’s reaching somewhere deep inside I can’t explain, can’t even fathom. Great stuff, real art.
I feel nostalgia for the 8bit version that never existed. That's some talent there, seriously. Both the art and the music give off vibes of old point and click games
These renditions of yours perfectly capture the feeling I felt first time I was playing Oblivion. It is so much more than a silly bug ridden game uz apprars to be on the surface. How in Oblivion don't you have more subscribers
The suspense had me sweating 😂. It's also amazing that you took real time for the visuals too, and the Martin ode at the end was huge fan service. Liked for the algorithm and to show you your time is appreciated. Keep it up ❤
Maybe... Maybe we weren't meant to improve our graphics, our lighting, our models and textures. Perhaps, it was the stories we were meant to expand, the richness of the worlds we created. The characters, the art, the music, it was all magic in a bottle. Magic, I fear, we have lost. Maybe.
normally I'm picky when it comes to what gets called 8-bit on here, since a lot of things slide closer to chiptune, etc, but the synths used here have so much sega genesis DNA that I'm enjoying the remix too much :p great work, especially on the super detailed pixel art
Hello, thanks for commenting :D. I explained this in a comment, and it may not seem like 8-bit, due to the effects that I usually add to the sounds. The truth is, I don't know if there is a rule that prevents the use of effects in 8-bit sounds, after all it is a remix. Both 8-bit and 16-bit sound different and use different sound waves, and here I respect the waves used, which are sine, square and triangular, with the exception of sawtooth waves that are usually used in 16-bit.
Unless you need something, let's continue on to Weynon Priory.
To weynon priory then
I love the art. There's something really special about Elder Scrolls in pixel art
looks like it would fit perfectly in arena

Thanks bro. I'm very glad you liked it 😃
I did notice that the stripping down of instruments made me realise how much I need to hear it on a real church organ.
Thanks for letting me rest here for a bit. Rip Martin, May Talos have mercy on his soul
From the moment Martin took the form of Akatosh, he already had a clear path to Aethereus.
Everyone else has said it, but man, an 8-bit 90's Oblivion game sounds so dope.
I know it's not really the same, but Daggerfall Unity can achieve a similar vibe if you haven't tried it out
You weren't kidding, this was absolutely worth the wait. Your best work yet, for the best oblivion song. Great work!

Yeah it's also my fave next to wings of kynareth and glory of cyrodiil
Seeing the dragon statue at the end and the face of Martin in the clouds almost made me cry, thanks.

This sounds (and looks) like something out of Arena when it shows a portrait of the main story dungeons
I suddenly want an Elder Scrolls point-n-click adventure game.
Honestly, I miss P&C Adventure games
this made me nostalgic for two entirely different times of my life
great work with this, sort of just sat here listening remembering when i first played oblivion
Heh wow, it's Marsh in a random 8 bit Oblivion music video. Well have a great day.

Didn’t know I needed to hear this. Glad RUclips recommended it.
I was literally thinking yesterday about how good the peace of akatosh would sound in 8 bit. Thansk for making this!
Thank you for comment. Your wish came true 😄
These pixel art backgrounds are super lovely, I hope you keep making them! This animated one is so dope as well!
This is how it will be done, bro, from now on and always.
Thanks for commenting 😃
I was thinking "doing something like this to the music of Oblivion is like playing with fire", but you delivered. Sounds so ethereal and magical.

A 3D 8 Bit Oblivion mod would be so sick
Skyblivion, then an Oblivion port with Daggerfalls engine.
You could probably get a limited color palette and pixelation filter going in reshade?
I have been touched in a way I have not been in a long time.
That first view is excellent coupled with the music. I'd love to see more like that.
I love that we live in a time where i can be genuinely moved by an 8 bit cover of an xbox game. Insanely good work and visuals!
"an xbox game" LOL
Just absolutely wonderful as always! This captures the feelings of immersion and exploration perfectly, excellent work!

Phenomenal. Great work on this one.
Another gorgeous remix, fantastic pixel art too!
In addition to the song itself, the attention to detail in the visuals is great! Amazing job!

Wild how much definition you fit in that last scene. Looked nearly 3D. The last 30 seconds gave me goosebumps as the song was fading out. Bravo.
very good observation bro :). I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for comment.
