My car's steering wheel is slowly disintegrating in the Oklahoma sun and I've been too stingy to buy a cover, but I'm getting tired of the tiny black bits all over my hands. I think this would be a pretty cool solution.
I'm very glad to have found your channel. So much neat stuff to learn! And you've really made it pleasant to watch. Thank you for sharing these skills.

For anyone who's interested, the needle he's using is also known as a fid. The size used is based on the thickness of cordage or rope being used. We use them for splicing end loops into our climbing ropes.
Nice to see someone keeping the old skills alive!

It's much larger, but this ring reminds me of the old-timey window shade pulls. I don't know if they still are used, but I went back to my past, when I was little, and could see the shade at the open window in the summer weather and saw the pulls swaying in the summer breeze. Thanks for the memories, mikko. :) This is beautiful in its simplicity. Beautiful workmanship, as well.

I used this single strand ringbolt hitch on a common hand towel ring, and turned it into a parrot (green cheek conure) fun perch.
It took a couple tries to get the finishing knot to look as good as yours, but now it is sufficient. My birds love it!

I haven't watched you for hours I watch you everyday and honestly mikko you are magnificent and very easy to watch. Every day you amaze me. Your talent with rope work is unreal. I have been tying knots for years as I am a retired Master Mariner I always have a piece of rope or Paracord in my hand, I do a lot of splicing but compared to you I know very little about tying knots. I can't say enough or find the words to describe you. You are magnificent even in your bare feet. But where do you buy these lacing needle. I would appreciate a reply from you it would fill my heart with joy. Thank you keep up the great work.
