My heart is pounding right now. My friends older brother was kicked in the head by their horse and suffered permanent brain damage. Horse kicks can be very serious.
Me too on not getting kicked. My Grandpa was kicked in the head by a mule when he was 10 and had trouble seeing out of one eye for the rest of his life. So when I see a horse trying to kick someone I flinch.
I had a friend 20 something years ago and she was telling me that her younger brother had his horse tied to a tree while he was brushing the horse and got kicked in the head and sadly lost his life so definitely horses do have the potential to do a lot of harm But thank goodness this family looks out for each other even when the cameras are going in sees Karen coming?🐴❤
I was kicked in the back by a horse in a small enclosed area when I was 9 years old. I was paralyzed from the neck down for a few months and couldn't breathe. It was horrible. I am no longer paralyzed, but the incident left me permanently disabled.
Gee, what a fun (for us) live!😂 JR inhaling bugs, getting chewed, nibbled on, nearly kicked (😮😮😮) defending the buggy seat, ‘lift-wrestling’ Chantilly…& ignored by Nattie… Thank you, very entertaining…& informative. Never mind the fuzzy video at times, Emeri…it was great having this video to view ❤❤❤
I'd take Karen if I were still able to work horses, disabled now, she just needs a little work, get her feet moving she will be fine, nice looking little lady.
Chantilly is my new favorite. She is going to be a beautiful mare when she's grown. I love her demeanor. I would love to have your life. You are truly blessed and I like that you take such good care of your horses.
Loved all this, and the good humor - JR summed it up, "we came out for a peaceful visit" and " look at all that's happened" 😂 Thank you so much for your time and effort to share with us ❤ xx
Our little four that I have talked about before, her name is Wednesday is five weeks old now from almost the moment she was born I could hug her scratch, almost any part of her with I can lift her feet and pretend I am cleaning them she had a couple little accidents. She will let me wipe her butt off with a warm cloth, she is just lovable and we don’t know who her father was at all we adopted her mother, not knowing she was pregnant. The mother was had been on handled. I got to the point where I could brush her her man, her tail, and even lift her mothers feet, but she will not let me put a halter on her. Yet the baby is just as sweet as it can be. It is about the same age as one of your little falls so I really like watching and seeing how yours are doing.
MATERNAL CONSTRAINT is so interesting; I had no idea that the uterus of the mare controls the size of the foal. Listening to many of your videos this year is the first I'd ever heard of it. Thank you for repeatedly explaining this as I'm sure many, many people had no idea about this particular biology of horses. More education, while may feel frustratingly repetitive, is very admirable :)
At the moment, Oliver and Natty are favorites, but all of the horses are so wonderful! I'm glad Issac is doing great and hope he's happy with the lights! Blessings on everyone!!
Great video with the herd. ❤️ Yep, JR has some making up to do with Nattie and definitely some manners training with Karen (wow!). Looks like a beautiful day there. Thanks for sharing and enjoy!
Maybe Nattie is kinda mad at you for bringing her to the herd that was not a kind greeting to her. She was so happy going to the group and was chased off. Now she is showing you the cold shoulder, cuz she wanted to come back with you, and she had to stay. Just a thought, she doesn't trust you right now.
I've fallen in love with horses because of your channel. I subscribed bc of Oliver. Now I'm invested in Nattie & the way she wound up with you. I watched that auction video & everyone's sadness at not being able to bring her home. Now I'm learning about the others. Love them all!
I had the same surgery as Isaac almost 60 years ago...and pin removal a year later...and a year after that a pinning on the other side. I'd let him know I could have avoiding the second hip pinning if I had used my crutches longer. Hope & pray he recovers better than I did!
Fly catchers in the fields where the horses are, are urgently required or spraying the horse's daily. Nattie is being bitten so much and her tail can't swish them away. You can attach plaited material strips to her tail so she can use them as her tail to compensate. I make cheap fly spray with citronella aromatherapy oil, white vinegar, cold tea and water in a spray bottle. I won't pay £15 every time for a small fly spray!
@@arribaficationwineho32 it won't, the last owner docked her tail as a newborn foal which means they use an elastic band half way up the tail bone and skin so it cuts off the blood supply, which kills half the tail bone till it falls off. Because she was bred as a working horse for pulling a cart, a long tail would get caught in the wheels. Same as they dock a working sheep dog or hunting dog. Or a sheep. So it will never grow hair longer than it is now 🐴
@@Nadi-w7y I know why they dock tails but it is cruel and unnecessary. The tails can be braided to prevent injuries and allow them to deflect flies when not working. Terribly cruel for horses and dogs. I hope new owners use fly spray
Tail docking is banned in the uk..for the shire horses, which is the British equivalent to a Belgian .. What they do is plait it and fold it right up to the butt so it's out of the way..🇬🇧💕🙏✝️👍👏🐎🐎🐎🇺🇸
We used to fly spray to ease their persistence…less eggs laid and less bites on their coats…we’d wet a towel down with it and also spray their legs…Vaseline around the eyes to keep ‘em out…
By far my favorite is Chantilly Lace. My last foal was born many years ago. Ironically his barn name was JR. He was a beautiful palomino Quarter Horse that is almost the mirror image of your Chantilly. At a month of age I lost his mother to gastric torsion. We started him off at birth with a creep feeder and calf manna. I believe that saved him. I kept him until I fell on hard times when he was a yearling. I ended up selling him to a young lady attending Texas A&M that her parents had purchased my first horse for her when she was a child. ✝️🙏🏼❤️
Too many flies!! But it's nice to see your herd enjoying a beautiful afternoon after the storm. I think Nattie is just trying to act like the herd, so she can be like the grown up mares.
What a big, beautiful herd! OMG, JR that was a close kick! Questions: 1. do you use sunscreen on those pale pink muzzles? 2. They all seem really agitated by flies, a bad fly season? Do you use fly spray? Thanks ( NOT a Karen) 😁 Ahaaa!!! JR just got choked by one of the b u g s!!!
Hello. I am a newbie to your channel. I love horses and seeing the new babies and Nattie(she's absolutely beautiful and glad I am she's thriving). Will definitely continue watching. Have a great day. Oh, one other thing. I like hearing new information.
Chantilly has star power. She definitely stands out. You should feature her as she grows. We see all of the foals all of the time but it would wonderful to focus on one as an educational experience.
All your beauties are my favorites❣️❣️❣️. Please be careful around Karen as we don't want you guys to get hurt. So happy to hear that Isac is really doing great!!
Oh boy! Chantilly need some decitin for her pink nose! She is HUGE-and hugely sweet! Looks like you all got tremendously blessed with this crop of foals.
Thank-you for explaining what happened to Issac, not all of us knew. We just knew he had to have surgery. I thought he had broken a bone, really badly, lol. 🎉
you guys made me lought who didnt have situation with a bug flying fatty.. couldnt swollow))) you soo nice family ) simple and warm) and your horsie are all cuties)))
Just wanna say, I love the way you two laugh and talk like best friends. What a blessed family, beautiful farm. You guys inspire me. I pray for nothing but the best in your MFT breeding farm. I would love to have one someday. I’m a Standardbred, Tennessee Walker, Racking horse, Saddlebred, and mountain horse fan. I’ve never seen a MFT in person, here in Ky we just don’t know what that is. I’d like to get a few and bring them here and try to get them established in our horse culture, and horse shows. We’d love to have you and have you show us how to judge them in a horse show, and help get them established. I think personally I’d love the breed as a trail and rail horse myself. Keep blessing us with your content. Not commenting as just a fan, but a friend you haven’t met yet. Best wishes.
Bummed out that I missed your LIVE by 4 days. I am always a day late and a dollar short- old timer saying. LOL Your horses are just beautiful especially the foals. Watching from Bensalem PA- right outside of Philadelphia PA. Much love!
Chantilly is really beautiful. I must say even though I didn’t get to watch this while it was life. I really enjoyed it that was pretty funny Karen trying to kick you. I’m glad she didn’t kick you but you’re right it makes for a much better life I was starting to think all your horses were in chanted or something because they all seem to be so
Nattie has put on a good amount of weight..she was quite thin .looks much healthier.. they all look in excellent health and look at the shine on all of their coats..l love Magnolia too..its a shame you're not keeping her, but l understand why..l actually like Karen..she really has some spirit😂..yes l know JR will train her to be obedient because otherwise it wouldn't be safe to ride her like she is..but she's a strong horse and once that training is imprinted she is going to be a super horse for someone..l think she is beautiful too..well they all are stunning..l thought you'd charge more for Bob's services being he has such a good proven line..so glad Isaac is getting better..but he must still use that walker so as not to put full pressure on the hip !!. I God's blessings sent to you all..🇬🇧💕🙏✝️👍👏🐎🐎🐎🐎🇺🇸
Watched this after Karen's lesson. What a difference a lesson can make. ❤
me too.
I shed tears seeing Sioux again. 😢 She n Oliver would have had a beautiful baby. ❤

Nattie is mad you left her with the mean horses.....
We watch and listen with big smiles. Thank you ❤ .
Thank you for talking about tail docking, I didn’t know there was ever a safety reason. Glad to hear about braiding & folding the tail up!
Little Nattie is a beautiful girl ! Love watching you guys you are such a sweet loving family !!❤

I got to say I love Clydesdales and draft horse because they are so big and beautiful.
I was just re watching " Nattie comes home"
Nattie has grown and looks great already x
The famous "I've never seen that before" line. You are very lucky , dude, you still have your head. You weren't reading her body language.😮
I love all your horses and you guys do such a great job with them all you are such loving people keep up the great work I love it thank you for Sharon

Best to Isaac, and thanks for clarifying the history of docking.
Everybody looked so healthy. Whatever you put in the water, keep going😊😊😊
I saw Chantilly and prince being born and it is so amazing to see them grow.
I love this channel! What a wonderful afternoon! The horses are a lot of work for you, but they give so joy to so many of us! Thank you!❤️❤️❤️
