1st Match: Scorpion really made some difference. Maybe if some more charges with elephants to snipe some units faster out of the field, but it was tight. 2nd match, Scorpion at it again. Nice light shock cav + elephant mass charges from Johnny. I bet they can be more cost effective in good micro hands.
Scorpion didn’t even do too much damage but it controlled the entire battle, was really interesting to see this style of play. Kalogero did amazing as this was his real first proper tournament
@@Immersaholic The scorpions might not get many kills, but they did HP dmg against high value targets and applied pressure by being a constant threat. They kept the general at a distance so he couldn't boost morale, kept cavalry from being in an ideal threatening position, and forced extra micro. The front line was a staring match, and the flanks spent a a lot of time feinting. The player without a scorpion didn't make use of their front line advantage at all. I don't understand why they didn't bring one, given their stand-off play style.
>pike vs pike front line >tell your men to drop their sarissas and charge the enemy pikes unarmed The outcome of that match was obvious from the opening move. I get lapses in micro in the heat of battle, but that was just shabby.
Well one of the benefits to having them engage is that they can be much closer to the enemy, so then when you finally do use pike wall your men are close and can be more aggressive
in both battles cal made a mistake of not having enough archers to counter the enemy skirmishers to properly use the elephants. although good battle though
Slingers would be better as they have more range. But regardless there are other ways to counter it. The scorpions are just so good at dictating the battle, he did excellent considering he had to deal with these
@sholder123 He was too careful I guess, it was his first ever tournament and final battles after all. Johnny on the other hand has experience at being in finals and played a lot of tournaments, really good player as we see. Otherwise Kalogero is dam good player too, very aggressive and smart. He always has some tricks to use during the battles, but not this time, unfortunately.. Looking forward to see them again in next one.
Ah yes, the gradn final, the most prestigious event, even more so than the grand final!
I was speaking immersaholicus mate 😆😎
Congratulations Johnny! Tight play!
It was proper tight!

I like how you made all the successors raise phalanxs. That was a cool rule. Except you probably caused a rebellion in Egypt of their native pikemen
It wasn’t a rule at all, it’s just what some people did for more maneuverability 😎
Oh unless by raise you mean actually bring those units? If so then yes it was a rule 😄
@@Immersaholic Yeaa I just meant bring the pike units haha
AWESOME FIGHTS
Agreed!

Ahh the Total War days. It's been a while ...
Total War never stops for us mate
Wow, both have same kills in first battle, 2465! Shows that it was close battle..
I should’ve noticed that… I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before haha
Why no war dogs. Kiss goodbye those skirmishers and cav
Hey Immersaholic! I like time stamps but try not to add spoilers? Like for example "Start of Battle 1" "Second battle"
Then you would know we only have 2 battles and not 3.
No way to win with these time stamps 😒

Were there any house rules?
Yes we had several rules, too many to list here but the rules are available on our discord
what the hell was he doing with those elephants in the first battle ?
