Still, Japanese has Kanji which usually have the same form with Chinese Hanzi so for them learning Chinese is far easier then from another language. In the case of Korea, before they have Hangul (since Sejong era), they use Chinese character for writings, this lead to many of their vocabulary were similar to Chinese or else it were similar to Japanese so learning Chinese is not THAT difficult for Korean. I mean for english/european language speaker, Malay/Indonesian speaker and others..learning Chinese is far more difficult than Korean/Japanese speaker.
