Saw him perform this in Jersey today, the entire show was amazing, Davey Johnstone was phenomenal during his solo here. Definitely gonna look into his stuff.
I watched the 2nd show at Houston and sounded a bit rough. Due to his age and not enough time to rest his voice between shows it might wear it out a bit but not to the point where he can't sing. So far his voice has held up really well on the FYBR tour.
He does and I agree - voice was rested. At 74 however, I would not expect it to sound as fresh with the heavy tour schedule he has, especially. Still, he does pretty well singing with what he has to work with.
@@dogpd3 I was at this show. I went into it thinking he wouldn't sound very good due to some of the videos I had watched. I knew he wouldn't sound like he would on the CD's because...guy been singing for 50 years. But, I was very pleased at how he sounded live! He was excellent. I hope he delivers the same performance for you in September that he did for me on this night. Best live performer I've seen.
Been a long time EJ fan.. seen him 16 times, and never heard him do this song live.. and I sooooooo love this great song. Thanks for posting… one of my favs..
He improved his style of singing again, sounds great. The long break seemed to be good to him. There is probably no other artist in the world with so many different voices through the decades like Sir Elton. He always adjusted his style to fit his current vocal range, not like so many other old singers who still try to sing in the same range as they did 40 years ago and sound terrible.
Thx for posting this I didn't look at the song list before hand cause I don't wanna spoil myself I'm really glad he played this. It was a great experience but it was really funny when I watched the video more than him and he was half across the stage threw me for a loop. But still couldn't beat the experience of crocodile rock live that was top notch
@@robertainmentstudios9533 My opinion,is if you look at the set list(and of course may change in time), it's shorter in length. Performing "Indian Sunset" requires a lot of concentrated energy, and effort and after Elton only had his hip replaced 3/4 months ago probably decided not to push it too much.Though from the videos I have seen Elton still seemed to give it 110% on stage, quite remarkable really.
@@Michael64425 Indian Sunset isn't a song Elton always does live anyway. I don't get why he's stopped performing Daniel live though as was on his setlist every year until 2020 and is very well known song. He may alter his setlist on the future stadium shows he's doing.
@@jaggass Very true as regards as Indian Sunset.Plus 100% Daniel should be back in the set list also as a great song and a hit for Elton. I have accepted on the Farewell tour,Elton is going to play a static set list and am sure will enjoy it greatly. If time and health allows ,it would be great to see Elton play whatever he likes in a smaller, or one venue set of performances.Elton has alluded to this and says this in his written introduction to the Jewel Box CD set.
Front rows crowd look very unfamiliar with this Elton Classic , probably just there for the hits? I read that Billy Joel used to,or may still do keep front tickets unsold, and given to real fans. Its a lot of money to pay to look bored though !!
Years ago I went to a solo Elton show with friends and we were approached by his people to watch from up front, so I know he at least did this at one point. This was late 90s.
@@irishman4671 Fantastic must have a nice surprise! I have front row tickets for later in the year, and I can tell you now most definitely will not be looking bored, and if told to sit down will suddenly become deaf !!
@@Michael64425 hahaha. I hear ya. I also saw him front row at Madison Square Garden during the Believe tour and got to shake his hand. The guy next to me tried to give Elton a 100 dollar bill for an autograph. Elton was not pleased saying gruffly "put that away!" before signing his program. Anyway have a great time! I know you will!
@@irishman4671 Hilarious, trying to give Elton money. That was great when Elton signed loads of autographs towards the end of his shows, think he's dropped that now as not a young man anymore. He is definitely one of the great all time live performers in any forms of music,he's like a man possessed on stage, especially if seen close up !
I saw him live a couple nights ago and it was absolutely fabulous. God bless and Jesus loves y’all

Elton sounds much cleaner than previous years due to a long break. Hopefully his voice will hold up for the rest of the tour.
Planning to see him in September. Hopefully he sounds like this

I just heard him yesterday live at Jacksonville, trust me his voice is top notch
Wow, his voice sounds amazing.
Thanks for posting this and the other songs from this concert. A great vocal performance from Elton and well played by the band, especially Davey.
You're welcome! This was my favourite performance. Elton sounds incredible after the long rest!
He sounds wonderful!

I was on the front row of your section. Thanks for the video!

Elton sounds great here
Took my son to the New Orleans show and it was amazing.
Just went to the Night showing in Houston today. Was so good, this song was the highlight.
Thank you for posting this! I can't wait to see EJ and band in Sept in DC. This has always been one of my favorite songs!
Unbeleaveble!! Amazing!!
Wow Elton is sounding great, fantastic indeed!

Do you have any more videos from last night? He sounds amazing for his old age! He’s such a legend! I can not wait to see him in April in FL!
Sounded a little empty without a keyboard, but EJ’s voice was on fire- he sounded great!
Great view! Post more!
Any idea why Kim Bullard the keyboard player is away? Did Elton mention why?
I read Kim Bullard tested positive for COVID.
New Orleans was.a better crowd; the place was electric!
I'm guessing Ray Cooper wasn't there as Indian Sunset isn't on the setlist.
Ray was there the camera just misses panning round to him, just the angles.
I wonder why he took off indian sunset its such a amazing song
